FAZER LOGIN[Azure Hotel and Suite - Devians Private Suite]
Devian was back at Azure Hotel and Suites. As the owner, he had a private apartment on the top floor where he stayed whenever he visited for business. He sat inside his private study, lost in thought. A phone rested in his hand. He switched it on. A picture of Vanessa appeared on the screen. His eyes lingered on it for a few moments before he quietly placed the phone on the table. Moments later, his own phone rang in his pocket. Without checking the screen, already knowing who it was, he swiped the green button and answered. "So if I didn't call, you wouldn't have bothered calling me? I'm not treated properly by my own son." A woman's voice sounded as though she were about to cry. His mother. Devian's ogled his eyes but then his expression softened immediately. He fought back a smile, trying not to laugh and upset her even more. "Mom," he said, smiling. "Can you stop being dramatic? I've only been gone for a day and—" "Will you be quiet, young man?" Mrs. Ashford interrupted. "Why did you leave all of a sudden? You didn't tell me anything. Is something wrong?" The worry in her voice was impossible to miss. Devian decided not to tell her the truth. Knowing his mother, she wouldn't stop disturbing him until he returned home. He didn't have time for that, he never did. "Mom," his tone became serious, "it's nothing. Just an emergency at the hotel that needed my attention." Mrs. Ashford let out a sigh of relief. "For a moment, I thought you were in trouble." Then her tone changed. "But how come your father didn't mention anything about it?" Devian wasn't surprised by the question. "I don't know. Maybe he forgot, " he said with a small smile. "And I can handle things myself, Mom." He added, pretending to sound offended. "Oh, I know, I know." She laughed softly. "I still can't believe my baby boy has grown up so much." Devian leaned back in his chair, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "I've been grown up for years, Mom." "Not to me," she replied immediately. "You'll always be my little boy." He shook his head, amused. "Where's Dad?" he asked, changing the topic. "Your father?" Mrs. Ashford scoffed dramatically. "He's been locked up in his study since morning. I don't even know if he remembers he has a wife." A small chuckle escaped Devian. "I'll call him later." "You'd better. And don't overwork yourself." "I won't." There was a brief silence. "So..." Mrs. Ashford spoke again. "When are you coming home?" "I'm not sure yet." he said unsure of how she would react. "What do you mean you're not sure?" "I still have a few things to take care of here." he answered carefully. She sighed. "Fine. But promise me you'll eat properly and get enough rest." "I promise." "And don't forget to call me tonight." "I won't." "Good." The call ended. Devian placed his phone on the desk before his gaze slowly drifted to the other phone lying beside it. Vanessa's phone. His fingers brushed lightly over the cracked screen. "So... Vanessa Brown." He murmured her name quietly. Stood headed to his bedroom. ******** Vanessa retired to her room, too exhausted from the day's chores. She had just finished preparing dinner for the family. The twins had been home all day, but surprisingly, they hadn't bothered her after what happened that morning. Her mother hadn't returned yet, which had given her enough time to finish every chore she had been assigned. Her father hadn't come home either. Maybe he had gone on another business trip. She hadn't seen him at all that day. Holding onto the wall for support, Vanessa slowly made her way to her room. Every step sent pain shooting through her bruised body. Her back still stung from the beating she had received that morning. She unlocked the door, stepped inside, then immediately locked it again, leaving the key in the keyhole. The twins had a spare key. She couldn't risk them barging into her room again. As she turned around, her eyes landed on a small white box resting neatly on her bed. She froze. "I didn't leave that there..." She slowly walked closer, her heartbeat quickening. Could someone have entered her room? Carefully, she reached out and picked it up. "A first aid box?" The words were printed on the side. Confused, she opened it. Inside were antiseptic, bandages, cotton wool, pain relief cream, ointments, and several other medical supplies. Her eyes widened. Someone... Someone brought this for me? It couldn't be the twins. Her fingers paused. There was a folded piece of paper on the bed. She carefully picked it out. Her hands trembled as she turned it over.[Azure Hotel and Suites - Devian's Suite] They had both started eating, but of course not without Devian having to practically force Vanessa to eat. She sat across from him, eating slowly while still looking slightly uncomfortable with the whole situation. She wasn't used to sitting down and having dinner on a dinning table at her home talk less with him like this, especially when she knew she was supposed to be working. “Where's your phone?” he asked. Vanessa immediately looked at him with an 'I don't trust you look' . Devian couldn't help but laugh a little. “I don't bite."he paused. Seeing she still didn't give a response, he continued." It's okay if you don't want to give it to me.” She simply nodded, no longer bothered by the question, faced her food and continued eating. She must admit that this is the best she has eaten in days or years? She stayed focused on her food trying to savor the taste and the feeling. For a while, neither of them said much. They were bo
“Please, I really need to get home,” she said, hoping he would change his mind. Of course, he knew her trick.“That won’t work. You’re supposed to be with me until after my dinner, right?” She nodded. He slowly stood after releasing her hands, then settled beside her. Vanessa quickly sat up and turned her back toward him, hiding her blush. Devian smirked, already aware of her reaction. She quickly stood up. “I’ll go get your dinner ready.” He shook his head.“There’ll be no need for that. It’s already been taken care of. Let’s go.”He stood up, walked to the other side, and held his hand out to her. She hesitated for a moment before taking it. He then led her outside. As they headed out, Vanessa kept thinking about how much trouble she was in.'I’m so fired.' But then another thought crossed her mind.'Why is he so cool about all of this? And why is he holding my hand?' “You okay?” he asked when she sighed without realizing it. She nodded her head, still wondering why he was asking.
[The Browns Residence] The house was unusually quiet as no one was at home. Mira had the place to herself. She was in the backyard, enjoying the swimming pool. The afternoon sun reflected across the surface of the water as she swam from one end to the other, completely lost in her own world. She surfaced, pushing her wet hair away from her face before taking another deep breath and diving in again. She had been there for more than an hour. She hadn't noticed that there was someone watching her and was very close to her sight of view. Ethan stood near the glass doors, his arms folded across his chest. His gaze remained fixed on Mira admiring her, but his mind was somewhere else entirely. He hadn't planned on coming here but couldn't help him self. He had tried several ways to approach her but she didn't budge. .l His thoughts kept returning to everything that had happened lately—the way Mira had been acting, the way she always avoided him. He sighed quietly. He really lik
She froze. Her eyes slowly shifted downward. An arm was wrapped around her. Her heart immediately began pounding. Who's this? Where am I? She inhaled a deep breath. She remembered waiting for her boss to return before she fell asleep. For few minutes, she had already forgot her current situation. He must be very mad at me. On the other hand, Devian was still wondering what Vanessa was doing. He knew she was awake, but he heard no sound coming from her. 'Hold on.' Then she realized. This is my boss's room, but whose hand is this? Her heart skipped. It can't be. She closed her eyes and took her lips into her mouth. She began to turn slowly, trying not to wake whoever it was. When she turned fully and saw him. "Ahhhh!" Vanessa shouted out loud, unable to stop herself. As Vanessa screamed, Devian forgot his pretense and quickly sat up. The first thought that came to his mind was his mom finding out that Vanessa was in his room and had even slept there. He acted witho
"Vanessa" No response. "Vanessa." He called her name again. Still nothing. He gently shooked her shoulder. She didn't even stir. He sighed. "You must have been exhausted." For a moment, he considered waking her again. Instead, he carefully removed her shoes and pulled the blanket over her. He was about standing up he lost his balance then fell on her. He looked at her hand she had already held unto him without him knowing. He tried to stand up, but her grip on his shirt was too tight. Very unexpected for a girl her size. "Please, don't go", Vanessa said as tears flowed out of her eyes. He softened at her tone. "You must be really stressed out" he held her chin. "I definitely would have loved to take you from here but you are too fragile for my dark world." he paused for some minutes. "But don't worry, I'll definitely be by your side always. This is a promise from your husband" he smiled so wide. He tried to adjust himself to the other side of the bed care
While in Devians room, Vanessa was already done with her chores but she couldn't leave. She had heard his mom's voice. "Seemed like they were arguing about something". But she couldn't leave despite wanting to. She had heard about her, a very strict person just like her son is. "If I go, I might get fired for disobeying him and I don't want to meet his mom" she sighed in frustration. "What to do" she moved all her equipments towards the door and decided to wait for him to come back. She couldn't risk her job. "Where to sit"she then moved to the bed side and sat on it. "Wow it really soft nothing like the brick called bed I sleep on." "I'll just take a quick nap before he comes back," she murmured. Within minutes, she was fast asleep. ********** [Unknown Place] This place doesn't look like where anyone should be or live in.
