“Suki?” Everett questioned, tilting his head. “Stand down,” he snarled, “do you not know who this is?” He held a hand out for Suki. She took it and stood slowly. “She was my fiancée before I found my mate; she is a friend. You will give her the respect she deserves, and that includes her escorts, too.”

The guards released Reynard, stood straight and bowed, speaking in sync, “Yes, sir.” Then they dispersed back to their regular guarding posts.

“What the hell are you doing here, Suki?” Everett a

At long last, the man who was always ten steps ahead was bested by his own blindness – impaired by the sight of his end goal within arm’s reach and missing the unpredictable fact that Suki manipulated him to use his own power to her advantage, preventing her mates from the high-frequency attack. Both men were panting, breathless from their never-ending battle, both of their minds and of each other. Finally free from Hadeon’s hold, they were able to fully bring their attention to their surroundings. Reynard’s brows furrowed as he saw the destroyed pillars and audio devices. The dust and debris floated in the air, fogging their vision. “Suki made him wreck all the speakers pointing at us and in our general area. She kept us safe from the main attack.”“What?” Brendan asked loudly, his hands firmly pressed against his ears. Rey dropped his hands from his ears, rummaged through a small pouch attached to the belt of his fighting leathers, wincing and grimacing at the sharp ringing in hi

“Watch them,” Hadeon muttered softly. “I must say, I underestimated how brutal Reynard could be fighting. You were too busy running away from me to watch them,” he purred, stroking her cheek. “But when he was down, he kicked Brendan’s leg from behind, sadly not enough to break his bone, but enough to distract him and tackle him into their current position.”Tears streamed down her face. “Please… You can stop thi–” Her breathing stuttered as Hadeon wrapped his hand around her throat, forcing her to watch them.“Watch one of the men you love so dearly kill the other. You’ll remember this pain: how the light will leave his eyes, how the image will be embedded in both of your minds. You’ll never be able to escape the pain. He more so for doing it, and still losing you to me.”

No one was in the room. Suki hastened to the controls and tapped away at the computer, awakening the wall of monitors that hosted the view for the cameras across the warehouse. Turns out all the humans who were working here for Hadeon had gone to fight the werewolves who had come to aid Reynard and Brendan. No wonder she hadn’t seen any humans, or any of the werewolves come to help – for every one werewolf there was, there were about four humans against them. She caught her mates fighting on one of the screens, and a wave of relief took over her when she saw they were still trying to hold themselves back. Clicking away on the computer, she found what she needed and clicked to initiate the sequence. The screen flickered: “Plan of action will initiate in 300 seconds.”Step one, complete. Good, keep going, Suki told herself.Moving away from the computer, she rummaged through the drawers and pulled out a device and slid it into her pocket. She looked around the room and noticed anoth

Sitting up, Hadeon stared at her, bewildered. His startlement rapidly shifted to wrath. “That was a big mistake.” Suki, still holding her brave smirk, stared at him for a second before speeding off, tapping into her wolf speed. She darted towards her two mates, dashing between them so fast that she shot them apart, sending them to the ground. For a moment, the shock of their heads hitting the ground allowed their free will to take over, and their urge to kill each other dissipated, having the hands on the wheels of their minds once more. They sat up and looked at each other, shocked, then at her.She panted, “You both have to stop fighting each other.”“We can’t,” Brendan groaned. “That hit on the head has given us maybe a few minutes of freedom, but his hold is too tight. I can already feel him trying to take over again.”“Then fight the desire to kill each other for just a little longer. I need some time.” She turned her head, seeing Hadeon stand and move towards her – slow, as if

“You’re not taking her,” Brendan growled at Reynard, throwing a punch right in his gut.He groaned, curling into his stomach, then plunged forward, tackling Brendan. “I won’t let you take her. She’d never want to be with you, a murderer. A disgusting,” – he punched his jaw – “filthy,” – another punch – “vile,” – another – “Rogue.”As Reynard moved to punch him again, Brendan caught his fist and twisted it. He shook his head, feeling rattled. He bared his teeth. “Your family ruined my life; I could’ve been the best of the best.” His eyes glowed.Reynard retreated and stood when he saw the swirls and puffs of Brendan’s shadow magic emit from his shoulders. He rolled his eye

Fear of the unknown grew inside the two men – fear of the truth about their history, fear of never getting to understand their feelings for each other any further, and now the fear of killing each other in front of their shared mate. The two of them forced themselves to stay still, enduring the fire burning in their minds as they fought to reject the demented Alpha’s Roar.‘Brendan,’ Reynard exhaled painfully down the bond.‘You’re not gonna get sappy with me now, Mr Perfect, are you?’ Brendan joked, agony laced in his tone.He scoffed, fighting his body as it trembled for him to move. ‘Sappy with you? Never.’

~ Brendan POV ~It all began the year the same year my older brother, Hadeon, had turned 18. That year, he was supposed to get his wolf, but as he was growing up, he felt no indication of power or connection to his wolf spirit. When he found out he couldn’t shift on his birthday, he was devastated,

A chill consumed her. “Didn’t mean for who to die?”“That family. I-It wasn’t me, I didn’t,” he sighed, “just let me explain the full story.”Suki blinked, and a tear streamed down her face. “No… Tell me that’s not true. Tell me you’re not the reason his parents are dead?”Furrowing his brows, he qu

Nausea brewed to the brim of Suki’s stomach. There was no way she could confess such a thing; it would jeopardise not only her but her two mates, too. One part of her knew she could and should trust Amelia, but the other part of her could feel her father shunning her if he were to ever find out.‘Te

Brendan’s eyes widened. “What the hell are you–”“Oh my– Ki!” Rey walked in just as she was about to take off her bra and used his wolf-speed to move over to Brendan and turn him around, keeping both of their backs to her as she got dressed. “You were meant to send her to the wardrobe,” he fumed. “
