Author's POV

The pack members were all disappointed at Alpha Derek’s judgment in sparing Sarah’s life.

Even aside that, the idea of a murderer and outcast—not even a werewolf like them—becoming their future Luna didn’t sit well with anyone.

But no one dared speak up, not even the fiercest and the elders among them.

They knew challenging the Alpha’s word was courting death.

Before leaving the square, Alpha Derek’s sharp voice tore through the uneasy murmurs.

“Anyone who disagrees with my decision,” he said, turning in a slow arc, "should step forward and say that to my face.”

But not one soul moved.

Even Axel, whose clenched fists betrayed his disagreement, didn’t dare to step forward.

Moments later, when the crowd began to disperse, Axel, wrestling with confusion and frustration, raced after his father.

His boots crunched over the gravel path leading into the dense woods behind the square.

“Father!” Axel called, breathless, his voice echoing faintly between the trees.

"Wait!”

Sarah's POVIs this the life I’ll be living now? From one hell to another with no respite in sight?I stared at nothing, my mind spinning. When would the Moon Goddess finally decide I’d suffered enough? Was there ever going to be an end to this torment? Because the future I faced seemed nothing short of hell.At least before, when everyone saw me as a murderer and treated me like dirt, I had some control. I could wake up each day and choose to survive. But this? Being forced into a life I never wanted, shackled to a man I didn’t love, all because of some cruel twist of fate? This wasn’t mercy. This was a cage with golden bars. After Alpha Derek’s shocking announcement, the murmurs of dissent from the pack simmered, but no one dared challenge him. Some even said he had lost his mind after he left.I’d stood there, frozen under their piercing stares, feeling like prey surrounded by predators until Alaric appeared. He walked through the crowd as if they didn’t exist, his eyes locked on m

Sarah's POVI couldn’t believe it when an echoing "Stop!" tore through the night like thunder, freezing me in place. For a second, I thought I was already dead, already crossing into whatever came after. But no… The world hadn’t faded. I could still feel the burning air in my lungs and the pounding of my heart.Slowly, my eyes fluttered open. And there he was.Alpha Derek. His gaze was sharp as fire.It couldn’t be him. It just couldn’t.He was the one who had given the order. Why would he stop it now?Yet the sound had been his. I was sure of it.My brows furrowed in confusion as I tried to make sense of it, my pulse thundering in my ears.Around me, the same shock rippled through the pack members.Even Alpha Derek’s children stared at their father, eyes wide with disbelief. The warriors who had closed in on me halted mid-motion, claws half-raised, muscles coiled like springs ready to strike.Their glowing eyes flicked between me and their Alpha, waiting for confirmation. You could t

Sarah's POVHours crawled by until the moment finally came. Now I stood in the village square, torches casting flickering light around me, still chained at my wrists and now my ankles in the centre of it all.Shadows flickered across the faces of the entire Blackwood Pack gathered around me, forming a living, breathing circle of judgement.Elders. Men. Women. Even pups who barely came up to their parents’ waists. They stared at me like I was filth. Some with narrowed eyes, some with mouths twisted into cruel smirks. No one hid their hatred.“Take a look at that murderer,” a woman hissed loud enough for everyone to hear. Her claws had already sprouted, glinting in the firelight. It was obvious that if we were alone in a room, she wouldn’t waste time before pouncing on me."I knew it. I told you she’d pay one day," she sneered.A tall man in the crowd spat at my feet. “We’ve been waiting for this moment for years. The Moon Goddess has delivered her to us!”Another voice—sharper, colder—

Anderson's POVBefore parting ways at the loan shark’s office, I’d given Lancelot one order: to use his power and climb higher in the Blackwood Pack’s ranks. If I’d had someone watching from inside those inner circles earlier, I wouldn’t have walked straight into Alpha Derek’s trap.If I hadn’t overheard his sneaky plans, things would have been a complete mess by now.I parked my car in the garage when I got home.I was heading toward the front door after parking when Lucas’ cold voice suddenly echoed behind me."Where the hell have you been?”I exhaled slowly, regretting that I’d called him earlier.Turning, my usual playful smirk spread across my lips.“Don’t tell me you skipped school too,” I teased lightly.“Damn, I won’t even be surprised if Principal Gaines called my parents already.”But his expression didn’t change. Just ice. Then he moved closer, closing the space between us, his eyes locking onto mine like a predator about to strike.“What was that call about?” His voice was

Anderson's POVLancelot and I had crossed into Blackwood territory, just a few feet deep past the boundary. He’d begged me not to go into the pack’s territory and tried everything to talk me out of it, but I didn’t listen. In the end, I ordered him to lead the way since he knew the pack and the safest route.“Anderson, this is madness,” he muttered for the tenth time."You’re walking into the lion’s den. No one survives storming Blackwood’s land. This isn’t bravery—it’s suicide. Sometimes… sometimes giving up is the only way to live.” His words were laced with careful persuasion, but underneath, I could hear the manipulation.I stopped abruptly, turning on him with a glare sharp enough to slice through steel. “Are you saying I should leave her to die?”He flinched, but pressed on. “I’m saying this isn’t just danger, Anderson. This is a death wish. You can fight warriors, maybe even Alpha Derek's sons… But Alpha Derek himself? You’d be signing your own grave.”I stepped closer, my voic
