The next day, Melissa composed herself and returned to Jared’s office. She had made up her mind to finally tell him about Stetson. Besides, what was she thinking? She didn’t expect him to hide that the woman she saw the other day wasn’t his wife. What made her think she had another chance in his life?

“Jared?” she called as he appeared at his office.

“Damn it, Melissa. What the hell is this? Why do I suddenly see you everywhere? Are you stalking me?” he grumbled, clearly pissed off.

“I’m not stalking you, okay?” she snapped. “I didn’t have the chance to tell you why I came to your office last time. I have something to say,” she said calmly.

“I’m not interested. Keep your words to yourself. And let this be the last time I see you near my office,” he warned. “Do you want to ruin my marriage? What if my wife finds out my ex has been showing up at my office? Stay away from me, Melissa.”

“It’s not intentional, okay? I didn’t know your wife was insecure and didn’t trust you.”

Jared entered the house, and his two young kids rushed to welcome him. “Welcome back, Daddy,” they greeted as he lifted them both into his arms. He kissed each of them.“How are my angels doing?” he asked.“We’re good. Guess what, Daddy? We scored a hundred out of a hundred on our tests,” the older one said, smiling proudly.“Really? I’m so proud of my girls,” he said, setting them down on the couch. “Close your eyes. Daddy wants to perform magic.”“Yay!” they exclaimed excitedly and shut their eyes. He held up two small bags.“Ta-da!” he said, and the girls laughed, opening their eyes. They took the gifts from him, pulling out packs of chocolates and ice cream.“Enjoy, girls. Daddy needs to freshen up,” he said, heading upstairs.“You’re the best, Daddy!” they exclaimed.Jared stopped, looking back at them, a sad smile forming on his face. “I wish I was,” he muttered to himself before walking upstairs. When he reached the bedroom, his wife sat on the bed, blankly staring at the wall.

Raymond sat on his bed in the cell, his eyebrows furrowed like an angry bird, his jaw tight, and his fists clenched. He repeatedly pounded the bed with one fist. Macho was seated across from him, watching him like it was a great show.“She’s too stubborn,” Raymond groaned, slamming his fist harder against the bed, causing it to vibrate. “I really need to get out of here. Macho, we need…”Macho raised his hand, shaking his head, signaling that he wasn’t going to do whatever Raymond was about to ask. “I’m already a jailbird, man. Do you want me to commit murder again?” Macho said. “You’ve already taken enough of that substance. The next one might actually kill you.”“Do I look like I care?” Raymond snapped. “I just want my freedom. I’ll do whatever it takes to get out of this fucking place.”“You got yourself into trouble. Do you know what the jail in NYC is like? I’ve heard there are dangerous beasts there. Since you can’t control your temper, you might be dead before you even get the

Kaiden sat at his desk, his journal open before him, his hand moving effortlessly across the page. The more he wrote, the heavier the tension in the room became. He couldn’t remember the last time he had jotted anything in his journal, but now felt like the right time—he could no longer contain his emotions. No matter how hard he tried to distract himself, the scene kept replaying in his mind. He didn’t want to believe she found joy in the presence of another boy. It hurt to the core, but he didn’t want to confront her anymore. Fate had decided this—it was nobody’s fault. Many might think it was just infatuation, but he believed in true love. Age had no say in what the heart felt. Even a baby understood what it meant to love someone deeply and wish they could stay by their side forever.Just as a baby cries for its mother’s presence, so does the heart yearn for the one it beats for. As the saying goes, the strongest love is the one that makes sacrifices, not the one that holds on tigh

Eureka sat with Raymond in the backseat of her car. He had just been released from prison, and she had gone to pick him up. The car was parked along the street; the driver had excused them. But since the driver left, they only stole glances at each other. The next five minutes passed in silence, the air growing tense. It was Kaiden’s call that finally made Eureka speak up.When the call ended, she looked at Raymond. “What are you going to do now?” she asked.“Where do you want me to start?” he retorted, their eyes locking. “I have nothing left, Eureka. You’ve taken everything.”Eureka puckered her lips. “That’s so sad,” she said, her voice filled with mockery. “But guess what? I still have your credit card.” She took the card from her purse and handed it to him.“There’s literally no money on this card. Where are the others?” he demanded.“Oops, they got burnt.” She feigned a pitiful face. “Also, your accounts have been frozen, so I guess you may need to visit the bank. You can sort y

A large room, lit up by a dim blue light. A mini table in the middle with a bottle of whisky and two glasses. Across the table sat Mr. Mathews and a masked woman, her eyes barely visible, though she pierced them into him. The room was filled with tension, one concealed by a deafening silence, yet the world seemed to revolve around that table. The woman grabbed her glass of whisky and gulped it down, tossing the glass against the wall, a shattering echo filling the room.“Fuck, boss!” she groaned. “You promised me. You said you were going to destroy her for me. What the hell are you saying now?”“Don’t ever raise your voice at me, Lucy!” Mr. Mathews said, his voice dangerously low. “I’m still your boss, and I have the final say. You will go back to Sinaloa and live as quietly as you can. I don’t care what you two had, that must stop!”“Never,” Lucy defied. “I won’t ever stop until I see her six feet under. • Bound by the CEO: Torn by Lies   Wanting Him

Stetson was seated on the couch, his eyes fixed on the TV as he watched his favorite weekend series. It was the season finale, and he didn’t want to miss a single dialogue. “Come on, dude. Don’t make me panic, just tell her already. If she leaves this time, that will definitely be the end,” Stetson spoke to the screen as though the characters could hear him. He moved forward, putting his popcorn on the table. “Just say it!” he encouraged. “Wait a minute. Why does the advice seem directed at me? Damn it, do I really have the courage to tell her? Will she be disappointed? Gosh, that would be embarrassing.” Melissa descended the stairs, her slippers patting softly against the marble floor. She had gone shopping with Stetson earlier, and she had to go change into casual, knee-length navy blue pants and a white tank top. “Holy moley! What in the world just happened?” he exclaimed as the movie ended without the main lead and the female lead getting back together like he had expected.

Will you do the right thing?” she whispered, her hand caressing the nape of his neck. “I know I’m being a spoiled brat again. I won’t regret this one.”“Lisa, careful. Kaiden walked into the room after leaving to get some snacks for Kailani, but she had already fallen asleep. He sat on the edge of the bed, his soft eyes trailing her from head to toe, then he held her hand, squeezing it gently.“I knew something was off when that bitch entered the class on that ugly day," he thought. “The energy felt different. She had your voice, your face, but she didn't have your heart. I wish I had pointed that out, I wish I could have looked her in the face and told her she was not my Kayla. How could I? She bloody had your face and there was no way you would be two in the world with striking resemblance,” he paused as she stirred. He patted her arm gently and she relaxed again.“I'm deeply sorry, Kayla. The second time you need me and I wasn't able to help you. Even Mom couldn't. We all couldn't, probably because we didn't know evil exists to that extent. You'll heal perfectly, okay?” he said with a warm smile appearing on his face.

What does she see?” Eureka asked as she barged into the doctor's office.“You need to relax, Miss Bennett. Please have a seat," the doctor said calmly. Eureka hesitated before sitting down.“Your daughter is traumatized. She must have experienced some ugly events that are causing her reaction. You need to understand that it takes time for her to get over that scene. That’s why I suggest she starts seeing a psychotherapist,” the doctor explained."Are you saying that my daughter has a mental disability? She spoke just fine to us, then all of a sudden she started reacting strangely.”"Your daughter is emotionally affected. Psychotherapy doesn’t mean she’s crazy. “Kayla?” Kaiden muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. He dropped on his knees in her front, cupping her face, his hands trembling. “Kayla, can you hear me? It's Kaiden," he said, then untied her. He checked her pulse, listened to her heartbeat, but heard nothing. Silence. The kind that paralysis someone with fear. Her body? She was cold; eerily cold. “Kayla, I'm here now, okay? I came to take you home. Are you listening? You have to say something to me. You have to get angry, to scold me, to tell me how disappointed you are. I should have protected you as I promised but I failed again. Hayley rushed forward, crouching beside him. “Kaiden, are you okay?” she asked, checking his arm. Kaiden regained himself, leaped to his feet, and pulled his hand away from her just as his driver ran over. "Don't touch me!” he snapped, startling Hayley, who trembled a bit. "Go inside!” "What did I do? Why are you mad at me?” Hayley asked, her voice shaking. "I said go inside! Don’t you listen?” he yelled, and she quickly rushed inside, locking the gate. “Are you fine?" Kaiden's driver asked. “Isn’t it obvious?" Kaiden retorted, walking back to the road. “Did you get the plate number? Not a sister he knew so well transforming into a nightmare in the blink of an eye. Whenever he stared at her, something gnawed at him, a feeling he couldn’t quite comprehend. The excitement, the unstoppable feelings, the joy he felt at seeing her were no longer there. He could no longer hear his heart thump loudly in his chest like it would explode if he stopped seeing her. He could feel the distance, the void, the silence between them even when they talked often. Something was missing, though he couldn’t place his hands on it at first, but Hayley’s video sparked a lot of imagination. Constantly, his mind twirled back to that day at school, when everything changed. He knew he felt it then. The sickness meant something. He hardly fell sick, but everything changed when he met her, when he connected with her, and her absence always cos
