Apparently, I did make a statement with my lingerie that night.

“Come,” he opened the door further and stretched his hand, gesturing for me to sit on the couch a few feet from his bed.

My gaze swept over his room, taking it in fully for the first time.

The space was dark and sleek, like you'd expect from a man like Axel.

Every detail, sharp and in sync. Black walls, muted wood panels above the bed and low lighting that gave the room a moody glow. A massive bed sat at the center, draped in charcoal sheets with matching nightstands on both sides of the bed and pendant lights that hung like glowing eyes.

I was familiar with Axel's scent, but it was stronger in the room, a sweet oud and spicy scent. Everything about the room was commanding yet intimate, undeniably Axel.

“I left you for only a few hours and you already miss me,” he teased, as he sat on the bed.

“Don't get ahead of yourself, I was just bored and somehow I found my way to your room,” I rolled my eyes.

“Whatever you say,”
