Camelia's POV

It felt like lightning had surged through my body, I could feel my heart beating fast in my chest, but I said nothing. My lips refused to move, and my voice was lost. I stood frozen in his arms until I heard Lydia's footsteps fading away.

Then, as if I was waking from a trance, I gently pulled myself free.

"Let me go," I whispered.

Without waiting for a response, I turned and ran straight to my room, leaving Henry behind.

“Did you get the water?” Grace asked me as I stumbled into the room.

"Huh?" I blinked, breathless.

"Are you okay? Your cheeks are flushed," she added, stepping forward. She raised her hand, likely to check my temperature.

"Don’t bother," I said quickly, finding my voice. "I’ll just take a bath and head downstairs for breakfast."

She didn’t argue, but lingered a moment, watching the stunned expression on my face.

“I’ll make breakfast,” she muttered finally, then slipped out.

I walked unsteadily to the bed and sat down gently, my hands brushing my forehea

Lilly's POVDid I feel guilty after learning what really happened to Camelia? Yeah, a little. But guilt doesn’t erase the relief I felt when she left. She deserves a good life just not in ours.I slicked my hair into a tight ponytail, adjusted my shirt, slung my black bag over my shoulder, and headed out.“Lily,” my father called from downstairs.“I’m leaving now, Dad!” I shouted back as I descended the stairs.“You’re early today,” he said, glancing at the wall clock. “Had breakfast?”“Yeah I had toast and an omelet. Guess what?” I grinned. “I left some for you.”“That’s sweet of you,” he muttered, a tiny smile flickering across his lips. Then, as I reached for the door: “Have you heard from Camelia?”I froze in a heartbeat.“I tried calling,” he added. “Think she blocked me… That girl’s always been a handful.” He still cares about her, after everything that happened.“Dad, Camelia’s gone. And maybe that’s for the best. Not after what she put you through. She’s probably fine—aliv

Henry POV "Can someone please explain what’s going on here?” I snapped. “Henry, manners!” Mrs. Raymond shrieked. “We are at the dining table!” She shot me a warning glare, but it only added fuel to the fire burning in my chest. “I’ve already lost my appetite,” I muttered, pushing my plate away. “Now, can someone tell me what exactly is happening!” Lydia quietly placed her spoon down, a subtle gesture that she was going to speak. I already guessed as much. “It’s nothing to worry about, Henry,” she said calmly, as if trying to douse the flames. “It’s not like this is my first time staying at your family’s house. So why are you making it such a big deal?” She added, shrugging her shoulders. “Yes, Lydia, it’s not your first time,” I shot back. “But my question is why are you here today, of all days, when Camelia just moved in?” Her expression didn’t falter. “And how is that any of my business?” she asked . “Do I need permission from you—or from her—before I decide where to s

Camelia POV "What! You’re kidding, right?” I said, my voice bubbling with excitement and surprise. I never would've guessed Henry would get Grace to stay with me at his mom’s place. “Camelia,” he said, “I just didn’t want you to feel alone. I know it's a lot, adjusting to a new place, so I reached out to Grace. And, believe it or not, she accepted.” He gave me this soft smile that made my heart do a little somersault. "I didn't understand why I felt that way." “She’s going to be your personal assistant from now on,” he added casually, like it was no big deal. But it was a big deal. That’s just who he is—he doesn’t do things halfway. Even the small stuff, he somehow turns into something huge. I felt the heat rush to my cheeks, and I knew I was blushing like an open book. “Come on,” he said, nudging me gently. “Let’s get going so we’re not pulling up after dark.” We walked side by side, with Gabriel taking the lead, and Grace trailing just behind him. ***** It was a f

Brady’s POVI didn’t answer her immediately.“Love Camelia?” I stuttered. “How could you even think that way?”But deep down I wasn't even sure of what the truth is.“Do I love Camelia?” I asked myself."You know I don't," I quickly added. “I was just taken back by what you said”.Maddie let out a dry laugh, but it was laced with pain. “Not that, Brady.” “You showed concern!” “Why should you even care if she sleeps with other men or marries one?”“It’s not like that.” I sighed, running my hands over my face.“Then what is it like, Brady?” Her voice was trembling now. “Because I don’t want to believe you were ever emotionally attached to Camelia.”“Of course I wasn’t!” I said defending myself. “You know how I truly feel. I reassured you over and over when we were waiting for the right time to be together. I never had any emotional attachment to her.”“Camelia is gone, Brady. And we waited so long to get here.” She paused, her voice a low murmur. “I don’t want her absence to be the

Brady's POV "Let's add this to the trolley," Maddie muttered, picking up a jar of jam and dropping it in with a soft clink. “Babe, we should hurry up with the grocery shopping so you can get some rest,” I said, gently nudging the cart forward. “You know I don’t like you stressing yourself—especially not in this condition.” My eyes drifted to her belly, a quiet pride swelling in my chest. “Ours,” I added, leaning down to place a kiss on it. Maddie let out a tiny smile. “He’s doing fine. But yeah… let’s finish up quickly.” We wheeled the cart toward the checkout, passing through aisles heavy with the scent of fruit and cleaning products—normal things. Until everything stopped. “Brady?” The voice came from across the aisle. I turned. She stood frozen by the glass doors, with her hands covering her mouth. Her eyes flicked from me… to Maddie… to the small bump under her shirt. “Lily?” I said, blinking. She stepped closer, almost breathless. “Why are you with Maddie?” she demanded.
