SJ looked up from his desk on Monday morning the following week when he heard the door of his office open. He came in early despite Carmela’s clinging for him to stay longer. His mind has already been elsewhere since yesterday and the only way he can assure himself is to go leave early.
“Madam just arrived, sir,” she said calmly. “I escorted her to the conference room and told her to prep everything as you had instructed.”
“Deb, what do you think of Elli?” SJ suddenly asked.
Debra looked at him in surprised but quickly recovered. “I really cannot say yet, Mr. Kincaid,” she honestly replied. “But so far, from what I see and heard, I think she’s an extraordinarily strong woman. She never lets those things being said or done to her hinder from what she wants to achieve.”
