Elli walked towards her desk the following day and sat down on her chair. As her usual routine, she immediately unlocked her drawer and pulled out her issued laptop and have it run its startup. While she is waiting for it to load, she reached for her notes and reviewed the list of tasks she will be doing today.
“On your toes,” she heard whispers. “He’s in a bad mood, right now.”
“What the hell do you think happened?” Came another question. “Could it be because of that rumored break-up? He was alone on that Saturday event.”
“Dear Lord, let’s just hope that he will not turn his anger on us! Tony told us that he was yelling for contract documents to be in his office. It’s still not nine yet!”

Elli suddenly sat up crying on her bed, just way past midnight. She had just woken up from a bad dream about her parents. What seems like a flashback, images of her mother drowning while she is trying to save her came back. Then the look of her father when he arrived at the hospital. Next came the images of the pain and hardships he went through when he was diagnosed with cancer. He tried hiding it from her, but she caught him, throwing up.She pulled her knees up and dropped her head while her arms hugged her knees tightly as she tried to make the images disappear from her mind. She had never gotten over them and she knew it. Up to this time, the two incidents had never left her.“Relax, Elli,” she whispered softly. “Calm yourself down.”“Elli?”She looked up at the sound and saw SJ at her door.“I’m sorry,” she immediately apologized, wiping her tears. “Just had a bad dream.”
