From the kitchen, the microwave stopped humming. There was a brief silence. Then footsteps slowly approached.

Panicking, Peter and I quickly darted behind the couch again, barely catching our breath. Winston stepped back into the living room, his brows furrowed suspiciously as he looked around carefully. His eyes landed on the front door. Still locked.

Slowly, he walked over and checked it before bolting it tightly. Then he turned on the living room lights. Bright light flooded the room instantly while I clutched Peter’s arm tightly behind the couch, terrified he would spot us. Winston scanned the entire room suspiciously for a few seconds, but everything looked completely normal. Eventually, he brushed the strange feeling off with a shrug before turning around and heading back toward the kitchen.

“What’s with the shaky hands? He almost caught us,” Peter whispered anxiously.

I pressed a trembling hand against my chest, struggling to steady my breathing.

“I don’t know, Peter… I can’t breathe.”

“Take a deep breath.”

I obeyed shakily, inhaling slowly while Peter watched me carefully.

“Good,” he whispered reassuringly. “You’ve got this. At least now you know the truth, and that’s the most important thing right now.”

He stretched out his hand toward me.

“Give me the keys. I’ll open the door.”

I nodded weakly and handed him the keys. But the second we slowly raised our heads, Winston walked back into the living room. Both of us instantly ducked lower behind the couch.

He carried a steaming plate of chicken sauce, creamy pasta, and mayonnaise, the rich aroma immediately filling the room. He casually placed the food on the center table before walking toward the fridge.

The refrigerator light briefly illuminated his face as he grabbed a bottle of soda and took a long drink straight from it. He walked back to the couch, sat comfortably, and turned the TV volume slightly higher. Peter and I exchanged frustrated looks from behind the couch. The delicious smell drifting through the room only made the situation more unbearable. Minutes dragged by painfully slowly. We sat stiffly on the cold floor, barely daring to breathe while the sounds of the television echoed through the room. My legs were already beginning to ache, and Peter kept peeking cautiously over the couch every few seconds.

Then finally, we heard movement. Winston stood up from the couch and headed toward the hallway. Immediately, both of us sprang into action. Peter grabbed the keys while I hurried beside him as quietly as possible. Our hearts pounded wildly as we rushed toward the front door.

“Hurry, hurry,” I whispered nervously.

Peter quickly pushed the key toward the lock when there was a bang on the door. A loud knock suddenly echoed through the house. Both of us froze instantly. Our eyes widened as we stared at each other in complete shock. Another knock followed immediately.

Panicking, we quickly bolted away from the door and rushed back toward the large table, squeezing ourselves underneath it just seconds before footsteps approached the living room again.

Winston walked cautiously toward the front door, his brows furrowed in confusion.

“Who is that?” he called out.

“Your pizza is here,” a female voice replied from outside.

Winston frowned immediately before peering into the door camera. The moment he saw Vanessa standing outside, his eyes widened in disbelief.

“Vanessa!” he whispered sharply.

“Your delivery is here,” she replied playfully from the other side of the door.

Winston quickly unlocked the door and dragged her inside before nervously glancing around and locking it again behind her. In her hands was a large pizza box.

“Oh my God, Vanessa,” Winston muttered in shock, running a frustrated hand through his hair.

“I know you want this,” she teased confidently.

She bent slightly to place the pizza box on the table, as she watched him stand tense against the edge of the couch, jaw clenched, hands gripping the back of it trying to hold onto the last threads of resistance. Slowly, she revealed her pink underwear, her dark eyes locked on his, her full lips parted slightly, the tip of her tongue tracing the lower one in a quick, wet flash before she bit it gently. She leaned closer until her breasts brushed his chest, the soft, heavy swell of them pressing deliberately through the thin fabric of her top, nipples already hardened.

She slide one hand up his torso, fingers splaying wide over his bare chest, feeling the rapid thud of his heart. Then, she pulled his face down toward her breast while her other hand slips lower, palm flattening against his stomach, nails grazing just above his belt. Her hips rolled forward in a slow grind, pressing the heat of her mound against the growing bulge in his pants.

You’re fighting it," she whispered, voice low and soft, her lips brushed his ear. "But your cock doesn’t lie."

She arched her back, pushing her ass out as she leaned into him, the curve of her spine creating a perfect, inviting line from neck to hips. Her free hand trails down her own body first, cupping one breast, squeezing it so he can see her fingers sink into the soft flesh, then moves to his, guiding his reluctant hand to her waist before sliding it lower to grip her ass. Then she took off her underwear and flung it towards the direction of the large table.

Hidden beneath the large table, I picked up the underwear in disgust, watching everything unfold with trembling hands while Peter stayed tense beside me. Rage and heartbreak crashed through my chest at once.

“Fuck…” he muttered under his breath before pulling her closer impatiently..

She squeezed his fingers around the firm cheek, encouraging him to knead while she rocked against his thigh, riding the muscle with slow, deliberate strokes that made her breath hitch.

She nipped at his lower lip, sucking it between hers, then deepens the kiss, tongue sliding hot and wet against his, claiming every inch then she yanked him closer.

Her pelvis grinding in tight, filthy circles that rub her clit against the rigid length of him through their clothes.

She broke the kiss only to trail her mouth down his neck, licking and sucking marks into his skin while her hand drops lower, palming his cock boldly through his pants. Fingers stroke the full length, squeezing the thick head, feeling him throb helplessly.

Her thighs parted slightly to straddle one of his legs, pressing her soaked core down harder; the subtle roll of her shoulders that makes her breasts bounce and sway.

She’s breathing heavier now, cheeks flushed, lips swollen and glistening. A soft, needy whimper escapes her as she grinds faster, using his body for her pleasure while her hand works his cock in firm, twisting strokes.

He’s shaking, muttering weak protests, but she just smiles and tightens her chokehold on his shoulders , yanking him down into another filthy kiss while she rides his thigh with increasing urgency.

Under the table, my eyes burned with tears as the painful reality settled deeper inside my chest. I clenched my fists tightly, ready to explode out of hiding, but Peter immediately grabbed my wrist firmly and shook his head, silently begging me not to react yet.

Then he whispered to me, as I struggled not to explode.

“No matter what, Ava, he shouldn’t see us… I have a plan,” he said.

“No! I can’t take this anymore. Fuck this!” I said and pushed the stool in front of us, standing up.

Ava’s POV Vindell leaned toward me again. I instinctively turned my face away, my shoulder brushing against the wall. Then, there was a beep sound. The door clicked. I blinked. The lock released, and the door swung open. I stared at Vindell. He stared at me. Then I noticed the small camera above the door. “Wait…” He stepped forward, and the realization hit me. “It’s face unlock.” He leaned toward the scanner, and the door beeped again. My jaw dropped. “You’re telling me we were trapped in here because you never told me this door opens with your face?” He shrugged. “Well, I tried but you didn’t want to be saved.” I stared at him for a second before rolling my eyes. “Unbelievable.” Neither of us wasted another second. We rushed out of the room and practically flew down the flight of stairs. The moment we reached the dining area, we stopped. Sophia and Kate were standing on opposite sides of the dining table, glaring at each other. Dishes were scattered across the

Ava’s POV Morning light slipped through the curtains and landed straight across my face, dragging me out of sleep. I groaned, pulled the blanket over my head, then gave up when the brightness refused to disappear. I’d been in this mansion for a while now, yet there were still corners of the place I hadn’t seen. The thought suddenly made me curious. I went looking for Sophia, but she wasn’t in her room. Then I heard her voice drifting from somewhere around the kitchen. Instead of following it, I decided to explore. If I was going to be trapped in this ridiculous mansion for the foreseeable future, I might as well know my way around it. The first room I wandered into was Vindell’s. The moment I stepped inside, I slowed. Everything was painfully organized. His clothes were arranged neatly. The books sat perfectly in place. Even the smallest objects looked like they had been positioned with a ruler. I glanced around, almost amused. His bedroom was bigger than my entire apar

Mrs. Ashford’s POV The moment I saw Vindell walk through the door, my heart lurched. I immediately covered my mouth and broke into a violent coughing fit. “Mom!” Vindell rushed toward me, panic flashing across his face. He hurried to the mini-fridge tucked into the corner of the room, grabbed a bottle of water, and poured it into a glass. “Here.” His hand slipped beneath my shoulders as he helped me sit up before pressing the glass into my trembling fingers. I took a few hurried sips, coughing between them. But even as I drank, I could feel his eyes moving between me and Doctor Rufus. His brows pulled together. “What’s going on here?” he asked. “I thought you were doing a checkup.” Doctor Rufus didn’t even flinch.“Yes, I was. I did the checkup and realized that her condition has improved immensely.” My fingers tightened around the glass. He turned toward me with a smile that made my stomach twist. “Mrs. Ashford, I’m glad to tell you that you’re almost out of harm’s

Kate’s POV At the hospital, Vindell stayed inside Mrs. Ashford’s room while I busied myself with files, paperwork, and everything else that needed to be handled. I kept moving from one desk to another until, eventually, the chaos settled. I sank into one of the lobby chairs and let out a slow breath. For the first time since we arrived, I had nothing demanding my attention. Then my phone rang, Winston. My stomach tightened. I glanced around the lobby. People were scattered across the waiting area, nurses moved behind the reception desk, and a few patients sat quietly in the corners. I immediately stood. I couldn’t risk anyone overhearing me. I slipped through the emergency staircase door and descended a few steps before answering. “Hello?” “And how do you intend to pay me back for keeping quiet?” Winston’s low, husky voice rumbled through the phone. “Or do you think I took all that for nothing?” My fingers tightened around the phone.“Calm down. I need everything to settl

  • Bound to the mafia    Chapter 72: The new PA

Ava’s POV “Hi, Ava!” Before I could even process what was happening, the excited figure rushed toward me and threw her arms around me. I stumbled back from the force of her hug, then laughed as I hugged her back. “I haven’t been able to settle in since morning because these two people think I’m a liar.” She pulled away, pointing between Mrs. Ashford and Kate. “Matter of fact, I’m your new PA.” My eyes widened. “Really?!” She nodded enthusiastically.“Mr. Vindell specifically hired me. And the pay…” She shook her head in disbelief. “The pay is unlike anything I’ve ever encountered. What do you mean I earn that much just to be your PA when we’re already friends?” I laughed. “He said I can live here and go back whenever I want,” she continued. “Can you imagine?” A grin spread across my face. Before I could say anything else, Sophia grabbed my hands and squealed. We hugged again, jumping up and down like children. For a few seconds, I completely forgot about the furious ey

  • Bound to the mafia    Chapter 71: A breath of fresh air

Ava’s POV I carried two thank-you bags filled with fruits and snacks down the corridor, the handles digging into my fingers with every step. When I reached Mom’s room, I pushed the door open. My steps immediately faltered. Mom was sitting on the bed, a chessboard spread out in front of her. Across from her sat someone I never expected to see. My jaw dropped. “Peter?!” His head snapped toward me. He slowly rose from his chair, and I stared at him. He looked much fresher than the last time I had seen him, his face brighter, his clothes neat, his eyes clearer. For a second, neither of us said anything. I walked toward them and set the bags beside the table. “Did you bring the fruit bar I specifically asked for?” Mom asked. My eyes remained fixed on Peter. I barely registered her question before nodding. “Hi, Ava,” Peter finally said. His voice sent a strange little ache through my chest. I looked from him to Mom, my eyes darting between them. Mom seemed to read my thou
