Harsh Reality

Nora was struck with shock as she witnessed the most traumatizing scene of her life. Standing before her was Austin, her fiancé whom she was set to marry the next day, holding her step-sister Chloe by the waist and gently caressing her protruding belly. "How is my child doing?" Austin asked Chloe, while she responded with a giggle, "Our child is doing well." At that moment, Nora's eyes were opened to the harsh reality of her naivety and exploitation.

The truth hit her hard, and she couldn't contain her emotions any longer. She let out a piercing scream as she was overcome with devastation. She had already purchased her wedding dress and spent all her savings preparing for the big day, blissfully unaware that the man she had loved for three years was playing her for a fool.

Despite believing that Chloe's unborn child was the product of her relationship with her boyfriend, Charles, Nora was now faced with the devastating truth that the baby was actually Austin's, her own fiancé.

As Nora let out a heart-wrenching scream, she was met with a cold response from her stepmother, Stella. "Your silly scream might make Chloe lose the baby," Stella chided. Meanwhile, Austin and Chloe looked in Nora's direction, their faces devoid of any remorse.

Chloe's callousness only fueled Nora's anger. "What's your problem? Why scream like that?" Chloe asked, her tone dripping with disdain.

As Nora took a deep breath to steady herself, she slowly walked towards Austin, her eyes fixed on him. "Austin, what do you mean? Your child?" she asked, her voice quivering with emotion.

Austin shifted uncomfortably under Nora's gaze, his eyes avoiding hers as he spoke. "I know I screwed up, Nora. I never meant for any of this to happen. But it did, and I can't change that now," he said, his voice lacking the sincerity that Nora needed to hear.

Nora felt a sense of betrayal and anger wash over her as she looked at Austin, the man she thought she knew so well. "How could you do this, Austin? I trusted you," she said, her voice laced with hurt.

Nora's heart sank as she looked at Austin, hoping for some sign of remorse or empathy. Instead, she was met with a cold stare and harsh words. "I know you're hurt, Nora, but the deed has been done. So just beat it," Austin yelled at her, his voice laced with anger and frustration.

Nora's heart sank as she gazed at the man she thought she knew so well. The hurt and anger that surged through her was overwhelming. "How could you say that, Austin?" she asked, her voice quivering with emotion. Tears streamed down her face as she struggled to comprehend his words. "Do you even care about me at all?"

"Enough with the care about baby talk," Stella, Nora's stepmother, interjected as she forcefully pushed Nora away with her body. Overcome by shock, Nora stumbled and fell to the ground, her tears flowing freely.

As she lay there, Nora could hear Stella's voice ringing in her ears like a siren. "You need to toughen up, girl," Stella continued, her tone harsh. "Life isn't a fairytale Nora, and you can't always get what you want."

Nora felt a deep sense of despair wash over her. She had always believed that Austin was the one person who truly understood her, the one person who would never hurt her. But now, as she lay on the ground, her heart shattered into a million pieces, she realized how wrong she had been.

Nora had always tried to maintain peace with her stepmother Stella and stepsister Chloe, despite their constant cruelty towards her. But now, she couldn't bear it any longer. The pain they had inflicted on her by taking away the only thing she had held onto after enduring so much was unbearable.

When Nora's father passed away, Stella and Chloe had taken everything from Nora - the company, lands, several real estates - leaving her with nothing but her room in the house. It was a stark reminder of her new reality and the harsh truth that she was no longer the one true Love of the man she loved so much.

After Austin's proposal, Nora took on several part-time jobs to help them achieve their dream home. Despite the long hours and exhaustion, she was determined to contribute to their shared goal. However, her world came crashing down when she discovered that Austin had betrayed her with her step-sister and stepmother, leaving her heartbroken and disillusioned. The living room felt like a prison now. The walls seemed to close in on her, suffocating her with their emptiness. Nora couldn't help but feel bitter and resentful towards her stepfamily. How could they be so heartless and cruel? How could they take everything away from her, even Austin, leaving her with nothing to hold onto?

Feeling suffocated, Nora rose from the ground and rushed out of the living room. The air outside was a welcome relief, and she took deep breaths to calm herself. Walking through the streets, the pain in her chest felt unbearable, like a heavy weight pressing down on her.

As she walked, Nora's eyes caught sight of a club. She hesitated for a moment but then decided to go in. Pushing her way through the dancers, Nora found a seat at the bar and asked the bartender for a heavy drink to help numb her pain. The bartender gave her a sympathetic smile and nodded his head in understanding before mixing the drinks.

Nora quickly gulped down the first drink, feeling the alcohol immediately dulling her senses. She asked for another, and then another, until she was completely lost in a haze of intoxication. The world around her became blurry, and the pain in her chest seemed to fade away, if only for a little while.

Nora's eye fell upon a shoe as she bent her head downwards after gulping down the last drink she looked up at the figure before her and the face got clearer " Oh..... it's You".
