View MoreNicky, you are the best bich!! In my whole fuckin life!!” I uttered with a huge smile, clinging onto her like an earthworm.
“Yes, Ora and you are the best lazy bich that I can never stop loving!!” Nicky slurps in the last drop of her 10th canned beer. The only one that we could afford at that moment, we are two broke people living together. Abandoned by our parents but not orphaned. Our lives have been a mess, she is an illegitimate daughter of the second wealthy family in Ireland. But her life wasn't filled with riches. She is the type that I will say, “She was born with a silver spoon but still eats with a plastic spoon”.
“Ora,” she muttered in a low voice, staring at me sternly.
“Ummm,” I moaned. I couldn't see clearly at this moment. My eyes were blurry because I had pulled off my medicated glasses. I borged loudly next to her mouth.
“Fuck!! That stinks, bitch arse!!!" Nicky blurted out, pushing my face away from hers.
I pulled her shoulder closer to mine, forcing her to face me.
"Did you seriously call me a stinking bitch? "I thought you said you loved me?" I asked, my voice filled with hurt.
“I love you but not your alcoholic stinking mouth!!” She pushed me away, crawling to the fridge to bring more canned beers.
The room was messy with our clothes scattered on the floor and my travelling box on the floor. I just landed from London, I rushed over to her place first. I couldn't face my adoptive parents right now. I escaped from their nagging, promising them I was coming to Ireland tomorrow.
“Ora, should I book a flight for you back to London?” She asked suddenly, crawling back to me.
“Why?”
“Bitch!! You still don’t know why your fucking parents called you back here.” Nicky shrugs, looking at me with pity. Even in her drunk state, she still loves me. It shows clearly that she cares a lot about me.
“It's my wild guess though!! What if they are calling you back to get married to an arranged partner? Or about to sell you to one big shot in Ireland.”
“And you will experience an exciting romance with your partner.”
Nicky said, laughing loudly. Her sexy dimple flashing at me. It tickled my heart how pretty she is. Nicky has been my very best friend from the orphanage till our Adulthood. She has a father but she grew up in the orphanage, he doesn't want her to show up in his house as his daughter. He slept with her mother hoping for a male child but it turns out to be a female so he abandoned them. While I was adopted by the Grey family to ward off evil spirits hanging on their biological daughter. Our lifes is a wild mess so we stick together to find solace.
“Nicky, if i was a guy I would have gotten married to you.” I blurted out sweetly, she smiled nervously avoiding my intent gaze.
“Umm, but I will reject you if you are a guy. You are not my type!!” Nicky snapped, she grabbed the beer and opened it. She passes it to me with a smile.
“Drink baby girl!! Don't worry if we get to 30 without getting married or meeting Mr right. We will have to live together and have kids. We will be super single hot moms.”
Nicky promised, hugging me tightly, I gently pulled her away. Her breath stinks from the alcohol. I felt very nauseated as I inhaled her alcohol filled breath.
Pushing her away. I jolted out to the restroom, opening the toilet seat. I throw up every fucking thing hanging on my throat.
The doorbell suddenly rang, I turned on the faucet to rinse my mouth.
“Ora, go check the fucking door!!” She screamed at me.
“The fried chicken I ordered must have arrived!!”
“This pig, she never stops eating!! Why don't you get the door by yourself!!” I murmured. I gasped as I gazed into the mirror taking in my disheveled reflection.
Makeup smeared and my hair tangled. My red lipstick painted around my lip like I made a horny kiss with a man.
“Aurora, you are a hot mess!!”
I sluggishly washed my face, but it is still not getting better. I can't see myself properly, my vision keeps getting blurry.
The floor opened into two, like it was divided by Moses in the Bible stories.
I crawled out of the bathroom because I was afraid that if I took another step, I would fall and break my teeth before I got sober.
I scampered over to the door and grasped the knob. I leaned heavily on it as I stood up.
I twisted the door knob, and peeped around. There was not a single soul in the corridor. I crawled out and took the fried chicken carefully placed at the door. I sat on the floor opening the fried chicken, grabbing one and hid it in my pocket. Since Nicky bought it she will request for the lion share, so I had to hide some of it.
We are crazy right? Yes!! That's our law!! Whoever buys it gets the lion share.
Suddenly I heard a loud scream, I turned sharply. The voice came from the stairs, I tried to ignore it but it came back the second time.
I stumbled out heading to the stairs, my legs wobbling as I grasped the stair railing to steady myself.
As I looked down, my gaze fell on two men.
“Who is there?” I screamed.
The men looked up at me, I shifted my gaze to the floor. A man was blindfolded, lying on the floor lifeless with blood oozing out of his head.
My mind struggled to process the scene, the men seemed unfazed by my Presence. I stood staring at them as our eyes met.
The men's voices were hushed, but their murmuring sent chills down my spine.
I tried to step back but my legs were glued to the ground, I couldn't move an inch. The drunk me couldn't process their faces properly.
The men's eyes locked into mine, we just stood there staring at each other, like it was a staring competition.
Rylan’s POVShe turned to me, her eyes bloodshot from.anger. “What have you done?” and she slapped me in public. Her eyes were wild, bloodshot, furious, unrecognizable. All that cold composure she wore like armor was gone. “What have you done?” she spat, her voice trembling with rage.Gasps erupted around us.I stood there, my jaw clenched, the side of my face stinging. Cameras flashed again, because humiliation was always best under bright lights. She raised her hands again to slap me but Asher held her hand and pushed her.“Don’t,” he said quietly, his voice low and hard. His grip was firm but not cruel. The message was clear, he had tolerated her enough for my sake.Raine’s chest rose and fell heavily. “You dare ... .Rylan this is your Assistant right? Disrespecting your mother in…” she began, but she was interrupted by a sharp voice cutting across the room.“Raine!”Everyone turned.Silver’s mother- Sofi and also Raine’s younger sister pushed through the crowd, her heels clackin
Aurora POVI opened my eyes immediately as he left the car, my cheeks flushed red. I touched them to cool it down. My back hurts so much. My legs felt heavy like they were split apart in yoga.Seeing Rylan awake, I could open my eyes to face him.I had mixed feelings of happiness, fear, and shame. I was ashamed of what happened between us.And I was scared that what just happened would change the direction of our relationship.I put on my dress and sipped it. I hid my bra under my butt sitting on it. My perfectly arranged hair earlier was now like a mad woman. My makeup was smudged and lipstick all over my mouth. I wondered how Rylan would look if I was like this. For a minute, the fact that Rylan could talk came back to me. When did he start talking? I thought they said he was mute from 6 years old. So all this while I mocked him, he could speak but kept it from me. I felt ashamed for what I said to him at the hospital.I raised my hands and looked at the little cut on my finger. I
One Hour Earlier — Rylan’s POVI suddenly felt my vision blurring, my eyes became harder to open. I staggered but I held the table at my front to steady myself. I hit my head with my hand, “What is happening? Why am I dizzy? Was it the anger of Raine's declaration?” I shook my head continuously but it wasn't getting better. Everyone around me turned to small dwarfs wearing flashy clothes of different colors. I turned around to find Asher or Aurora, but my vision was too blurry to find them. One of the dwarfs I was seeing touched my arms, “Sir Rylan Are you okay? Let me take you to your room to rest.”The party was louder than I liked.Crystal glasses chimed, laughter rippled across the marble hall, and the low hum of ambition filled the air like perfume. The air suffocated me more, my bead was banging from the headache. I couldn't understand what was happening or about to happen.I tried to recall what I drank earlier. It wasn’t just the sharp sweetness of wine there was a faint
Aurora’s POVA sharp pain pulsed at the back of my skull. My eyes fluttered open, the world spinning around me. The faint smell of Rylan's cologne filled the air. Then the low hum of an engine made me realize where I was.I blinked again, this time the shapes cleared. I was lying on the passenger seat of Rylan’s car. The city lights outside streaked past the windows like comets.I turned to see Rylan by my side unbuttoning his shirt. My throat was dry. “Rylan?” I whispered, my voice barely audible. He glanced at me, his expression tense, his jaw hard. One hand gripping his trousers. The other was tugging at the collar of his shirt, like he was suffocating under his own thoughts. His tie lay discarded on the floor. He didn't make a sign to me, his eyes darting around making me nervous.I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness forced me back. “What happened? What is wrong with you?”The memory hit me in fragments* the wine, the mocking voices, the locked door, the masked man. I shive
Aurora’s POV I forced my lips into a polite smile as I crossed the ballroom, the hem of my ivory gown whispering against the floor. Rylan was still caught up with the investors, his hand firmly on my hands when he had signed for me to behave. Behave, as if I was some child who didn’t know her place. Fine. I would play the role of the dutiful wife!! The cluster of women near the corner caught my eye as Raine told me to go meet them. Rylan’s cousins, some investors’ wives, and right in the middle, Silver and Orla. Their laughter was high-pitched, the kind of sound that carried just enough malice to sting. I hesitated for a heartbeat, but my pride wouldn’t let me turn away. So I walked toward them, lifting my chin, pretending not to notice the way their eyes lit up at the sight of me. “Well, well,” Silver’s voice slid through the air like venom. “If it isn’t Mrs. Blackwood herself. I was beginning to wonder if you would actually dare to show your face tonight. This disaster destro
Rylan POV“Sir Rylan, I think this is best for her. Dark red will suit you and her.” Liam suggested, as he held Aurora's dress.“No, Liam. I want something classy. Give me something not too skin revealing.” I said, and flinged the dress he gave me.His face turned sour, “Rylan!! You are crazy!! If not, you are my friend. Do you think you can boss around a top designer like me!! People waiting for me to pick a dress will line up to France!! ” He barked. As he turned away angrily.“Aurora has body scars on her back. So revealing clothes is a bad idea.“Don't you trust my magic? I will cover it up with makeup.” He said, trying to reassure me.I stood in front of the tall wardrobe, running my hand over the line of evening dresses carefully picked by Liam earlier. Most of them were too flashy, not like Aurora's calmness. I wanted her to stand out, yes, but not in a way that would turn her into an easy target for whispers. My fingers stopped on a sleek ivory dress, elegant but simple, the k
