View MoreNicky, you are the best bich!! In my whole fuckin life!!” I uttered with a huge smile, clinging onto her like an earthworm.
“Yes, Ora and you are the best lazy bich that I can never stop loving!!” Nicky slurps in the last drop of her 10th canned beer. The only one that we could afford at that moment, we are two broke people living together. Abandoned by our parents but not orphaned. Our lives have been a mess, she is an illegitimate daughter of the second wealthy family in Ireland. But her life wasn't filled with riches. She is the type that I will say, “She was born with a silver spoon but still eats with a plastic spoon”.
“Ora,” she muttered in a low voice, staring at me sternly.
“Ummm,” I moaned. I couldn't see clearly at this moment. My eyes were blurry because I had pulled off my medicated glasses. I borged loudly next to her mouth.
“Fuck!! That stinks, bitch arse!!!" Nicky blurted out, pushing my face away from hers.
I pulled her shoulder closer to mine, forcing her to face me.
"Did you seriously call me a stinking bitch? "I thought you said you loved me?" I asked, my voice filled with hurt.
“I love you but not your alcoholic stinking mouth!!” She pushed me away, crawling to the fridge to bring more canned beers.
The room was messy with our clothes scattered on the floor and my travelling box on the floor. I just landed from London, I rushed over to her place first. I couldn't face my adoptive parents right now. I escaped from their nagging, promising them I was coming to Ireland tomorrow.
“Ora, should I book a flight for you back to London?” She asked suddenly, crawling back to me.
“Why?”
“Bitch!! You still don’t know why your fucking parents called you back here.” Nicky shrugs, looking at me with pity. Even in her drunk state, she still loves me. It shows clearly that she cares a lot about me.
“It's my wild guess though!! What if they are calling you back to get married to an arranged partner? Or about to sell you to one big shot in Ireland.”
“And you will experience an exciting romance with your partner.”
Nicky said, laughing loudly. Her sexy dimple flashing at me. It tickled my heart how pretty she is. Nicky has been my very best friend from the orphanage till our Adulthood. She has a father but she grew up in the orphanage, he doesn't want her to show up in his house as his daughter. He slept with her mother hoping for a male child but it turns out to be a female so he abandoned them. While I was adopted by the Grey family to ward off evil spirits hanging on their biological daughter. Our lifes is a wild mess so we stick together to find solace.
“Nicky, if i was a guy I would have gotten married to you.” I blurted out sweetly, she smiled nervously avoiding my intent gaze.
“Umm, but I will reject you if you are a guy. You are not my type!!” Nicky snapped, she grabbed the beer and opened it. She passes it to me with a smile.
“Drink baby girl!! Don't worry if we get to 30 without getting married or meeting Mr right. We will have to live together and have kids. We will be super single hot moms.”
Nicky promised, hugging me tightly, I gently pulled her away. Her breath stinks from the alcohol. I felt very nauseated as I inhaled her alcohol filled breath.
Pushing her away. I jolted out to the restroom, opening the toilet seat. I throw up every fucking thing hanging on my throat.
The doorbell suddenly rang, I turned on the faucet to rinse my mouth.
“Ora, go check the fucking door!!” She screamed at me.
“The fried chicken I ordered must have arrived!!”
“This pig, she never stops eating!! Why don't you get the door by yourself!!” I murmured. I gasped as I gazed into the mirror taking in my disheveled reflection.
Makeup smeared and my hair tangled. My red lipstick painted around my lip like I made a horny kiss with a man.
“Aurora, you are a hot mess!!”
I sluggishly washed my face, but it is still not getting better. I can't see myself properly, my vision keeps getting blurry.
The floor opened into two, like it was divided by Moses in the Bible stories.
I crawled out of the bathroom because I was afraid that if I took another step, I would fall and break my teeth before I got sober.
I scampered over to the door and grasped the knob. I leaned heavily on it as I stood up.
I twisted the door knob, and peeped around. There was not a single soul in the corridor. I crawled out and took the fried chicken carefully placed at the door. I sat on the floor opening the fried chicken, grabbing one and hid it in my pocket. Since Nicky bought it she will request for the lion share, so I had to hide some of it.
We are crazy right? Yes!! That's our law!! Whoever buys it gets the lion share.
Suddenly I heard a loud scream, I turned sharply. The voice came from the stairs, I tried to ignore it but it came back the second time.
I stumbled out heading to the stairs, my legs wobbling as I grasped the stair railing to steady myself.
As I looked down, my gaze fell on two men.
“Who is there?” I screamed.
The men looked up at me, I shifted my gaze to the floor. A man was blindfolded, lying on the floor lifeless with blood oozing out of his head.
My mind struggled to process the scene, the men seemed unfazed by my Presence. I stood staring at them as our eyes met.
The men's voices were hushed, but their murmuring sent chills down my spine.
I tried to step back but my legs were glued to the ground, I couldn't move an inch. The drunk me couldn't process their faces properly.
The men's eyes locked into mine, we just stood there staring at each other, like it was a staring competition.
Raine POVWe pulled up to Marylee Alberto's mansion. Hanni stepped out first and opened the car door for me, carefully placing his arm above the frame to keep me from hitting my head.He held out his hand for support.I took it with a small smile. No matter how many times I pushed him away, he always showed up when it counted.“Miss Raine, she’s inside,” he said gently. “You think she’ll even answer us?” He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.I glanced at me, reading the nerves he tried to hide. “Are you nervous?”“Of course I am. You know how difficult she can be.”“Dont worry, have you forgotten it's me. I am not that easily defeated.” I said to him, with a smile. We gently walked me in, the maids in the mansion led us to the waiting room. It was very big and exquisite but it lacked the ancient rich decorations like the Blackwood's mansion. The Blackwood mansion has always been the most famous mansion in Ireland.Marylee came in, she was putting on an expensive golden dress, he
“Yes Rylan, I saved you from the fire.” Anne said, with a smile.I smiled and reached for my notepad. “Thank you, Anne. You’ve done so much for me lately… especially today. I owe you. Say whatever’s on your mind.”She smiled shyly. “I just want one thing, spend my birthday with me. You promised to spend my birthday with me, but now you are in the hospital. I hope you will still fulfil that promise.Red chuckled softly. “That’s not too much to ask. Rylan, you should say yes. If it weren’t for that business marriage, you and Anne would be perfect together. A beautiful woman and a handsome man- just look at you two. My prayers are for you Rylan to be happy. Dylan and his mother can't bring you down.”She gave Anne’s hand a gentle squeeze, her eyes full of affection. “Ma, don't worry once Rylan has succeeded. We can still achieve that!! We just have to work harder from now on.”“Yes Red, you are right. They are the best for each other. I know Anne will do her best for my Boss. Since we al
RYLAN POVI lay on the hospital bed, eyes shut, but my mind refused to rest. The memory of what happened clung to me like a shadow. It felt like the whole world was closing in on me. I turned to the other side of my bed, the smell of disinfectant in the hospital room filled my nose making me nauseated. It was lonely… but oddly safe.I was very angry but not just at what my mother had done, but at the thought of her dragging Dylan to block my way in the company. How she planned this to target me. How she wants to control me by all means.Just then, a nurse stepped in, her voice gentle but surprised.“Sir, you’re awake? Let me call your family.”Before I could respond, she hurried out of the room.“Family,” I murmured. “Do I have a family?” Then I recalled the only people that will be happy to see me are only my Aunt Red and Asher. I wondered if Aurora would also be outside waiting for me.Aunty Red rushed in, her face sweaty. She looked very worried and pale. She rushed to my bed, and
**Mrs Fiona Grey Lizzy knocked on her room door, she stood for a minute before the door slightly opened. She walked in calmly, her head down.“What did she say?” Fiona asked, not looking at her.“Umm…she said her husband isn't nice to her.”“Really?”“But I think she is lying.Fiona raised her head.“What do you mean? Does that mean she doesn't trust you anymore?” “No…no she trusts me a lot.” Her eyes shone. “Then why?”"I saw a really expensive gold chain on her bed," Lizzy said quietly. "I think… he’s treating her well.""And the money?" Fiona snapped. "Fifty million? Is she planning to run away?""She said no..." Lizzy replied, hesitating. "She said now that she’s married, she wants to be obedient. I don’t think she’s trying to escape. Besides, her husband’s family… they’d find her if she did."She glanced up, her voice softening. "Just like you. You’ll find her too."“What are her plans?” Fiona asked curiously. “I think…nothing.” She dropped her thoughts, “Ma, the money you p
I stumbled forward and crashed hard, face-first onto the floor. Pain shot through my lip as I tasted blood. I looked back quickly—and there she was.Orla. Giggling behind her hand, eyes glittering with satisfaction.“Orla, what the fuck was that!!” I barked, my voice loud.“I thought you wouldn't come back to the Grey mansion? After you made that your delinquent friend bully me!!”I struggled to stand up, using my hands to clean the sand on my knees.“I should be the one saying that. Have you forgotten what you did to me that day?”“Lousy!! I thought you got married to a man that will care for you. I never knew you were also living like a bum over there. An outside cousin was better off than you.” Orla said, giggling like a witch.“Everything you did that day, I will tell mom.” I said, pointing at her.“What Mum? Your dead mom? My mom is not yours.”“What dead mom?” I asked puzzled. She ignored my question, I wondered what dead mom she was talking about. Because we all know I was bro
“My baby girl,” she whispered, arms still wrapped around me. “How are you doing? I’m sorry… for forcing you into that marriage.”I was happy at that Moment that I hugged her back. It felt warm, I really needed that hug- like I had waited Years just for that hug.She gently pulled me closer, but there was no warmth in her eyes—only calculation. Her gaze flicked around the room, restless, as if the hug had unsettled her more than comforted her. Then she slightly touched her nose—an old tell she couldn’t hide, not when she was lying.“I’m happy you’re here. Come sit with Mom. We have so much to talk about,” she said, already moving toward her chair. Halfway there, she paused and glanced back, motioning for me to follow. But I didn’t move. I just stood there, watching her—my feet rooted in place. I wasn’t ready to follow. Not this time, I don't want to be fooled again. That self pity!! That fake show of love whenever she wants something. “Come sit,” She beckoned me again.“Madam Fiona, i
