Dragonmoon Pack

“Are you absolutely positive she will attend the meeting?” Alpha Serburi was getting antsy every day as it closed on this meeting. He quite adored the Samarah turned Samantha girl and was excited to hear of her newest product. He had three daughters by blood, but he felt a fatherly concern for Samantha as well. He was one of her biggest supporters.

“Yes father, Angel convinced her easily.” Nicholas replied. He was antsy as well, and why shouldn’t he be? He could barely contain his excitement in seeing her again. They spoke often on the phone, but he hadn’t seen her in months. He had been busy with his father and pack matters, not to mention work.

They operated a firm that was a branch of Silverclaw Enterprise for Samantha, and it was doing well. But what she really needed was more labs. This meeting with the alphas was to help her gain footing for purchasing buildings in other pack territories. Nicholas had been acting as a proxy for her, but in doing so, he was unable to be around her as much as he would like.

Given his degree from TSU, he was definitely qualified to help her with whatever the tech company needed.

“I’m worried about her seeing Paladin after all this time.” Serburi mused. Sure, he was not actually Samantha’s father, but Paladin was. And he wasn’t a good one. Not to her anyway. It didn’t stop her from adoring her younger brother Davis though.

“She is strong, besides, I thought Davis was going in his stead?” Nicholas inquired.

Serburi shook his head. “He isn’t. Paladin shut him down. After all the effort they put into the boy you would think that they would give him the reigns. He is 23 after all.”

“Do you think they will recognize her?” Luna Aldra asked as she walked into the office with her husband and son. She had met Samantha multiple times now and also adored her, as did the sisters, she was like an extension of the Borne family that they all treasured.

Nicholas shook his head. “No, they never even saw her before college.” He ran a hand through his hair, frustrated at the Lynxmoon family and their disdain for Samantha. “Besides, she made a nano-tech just before leaving TSU that can alter an appearance or a scent even. It was her way for a clean break.” Nicholas smiled. “She is a force to be reckoned with.”

The alpha and luna of Dragonmoon silently agreed with Nicholas. After all this time, that boy was still smitten with her despite her unwillingness to be with him officially. Not that Nicholas begrudged her for her choice, she needed to know that she had the wings to fly on her own. And she was doing well.

“Maybe she will get here early enough for lunch with the family before that meeting.”  Aldra said excitedly. “I feel so bad, we haven’t been able to visit her in a year.”

Serburi rubbed her shoulders and brought her back to him. “She understands the weight of a pack my luna, hers has grown significantly my dear.”

Aldra relaxed into Serburi’s touch and Nicholas looked away with a pang of jealousy at being unable to touch Samantha for so long. He really needed to find a way to follow her to Miami permanently, maybe he could get her to change her mind about being with him.

“She should land tomorrow morning, I will talk to her about lunch.” Nicholas said, hoping to make his mother feel better.

She smiled her thanks at him and Nicholas left the room. His phone vibrated with an incoming text.

‘Plz meet us when we land. She misses you. -D.’

‘What time?’ he texted back.

‘6 AM!! Early!’

‘You got it. Don’t tell her.’

‘My lips are sealed!’

Nicholas set the phone down on his nightstand and smiled. Damon was always looking out for Samantha and he appreciated the guy immensely. He also appreciated that he was gay, or he might be jealous at how much Damon adored her. Not that it was really his fault, Samantha saved his life, literally. And then he found his mate, Carlton. Damon was fierce in his loyalty to Sam, everyone who took the Silverclaw name was fiercely loyal to her, but Damon was on another level. I was sure he would drop everything for her, hell the guy refused to move where his mate lived so he could stay by Samantha’s side in Miami.

Carlton loved Sam too, so he gave in and went to Miami, his parents took it difficultly, but they understood it as well. Having the twins there with her was another edge for Samantha too, another pack who was her ally. That gave her three loyal packs, and she needed all she could get to pull off what she was attempting. Carlton also proved himself in his strength. Yes he was a gay boy with high fashion sense, but he was unusually strong for a werewolf. He became Samantha’s general quickly.

“Nick?” Kalton’s voice sounded in the hall of the pack house.

“What is it?”

“Amy is here.”

Nicholas frowned. What the hell? He went out to meet Kalton and frowned.

“Why?”

“To see you silly.” Amy’s voice was purposefully sultry making Nicholas growl.

“We’ve literally not spoken in 7 years, what the hell do you want?”

Nicholas clenched his teeth and fisted his hands so he wouldn’t punch her as she slid a finger over his chest.

“Didn’t you miss me baby?”

“You rejected me and what, think that I have been pining for you all this time?” Nicholas scoffed. “Get a clue Amy, not interested.” He smacked her hand away and went to his room slamming the door behind him.

Amy pouted in the hall for a moment before looking at Kalton. “You made it seem like he would see me.” She accused him.

Kalton snorted. “No, I said no such thing. But you only hear what you want to hear Amy. It’s all about you, as usual. Besides, Nicholas has a new girl. Has for awhile now.”

Amy’s face became an ugly sneer at Kalton’s words, but instead of explaining, he shook his head and walked away.

Samantha“You’re a cheeky little shit, aren’t you?” I wrapped my hand around his neck and squeezed just a bit. I chuckled darkly. “Kill the rest, he’s going to help us get our property back. His eyes widened as the rest of his companions were slaughtered right in front of him. “I said—” he began to splutter, and I smacked him harshly.“You said your death would make the news public. You are alive. And do you honestly believe I would let these little friends of yours live, knowing what they know?” I scoffed, “I’m not daft.”“How do I know you won’t kill me and my other friend the moment you have Lykanthrope?”“You don’t. As it is, we need a test subject, and we have a deal. I don’t go back on my word.” I pushed him back as I let my hand drop from his throat. “Now, let us go find your special friend.”As it happened, his friend was nearby. Within walking distance even. ‘I think enough tweaks with Lykanthrope could force loyalty from anyone.’ Ansel mind linked me.‘He’s right, a couple

  • Bowing to Silverclaw   29: Sting

SamanthaIt was silent when we reached the abandoned factory, eerie. It didn’t bother me though, I would kill every last one of them if I needed to in order to get the schematics of Lykanthrope back. Sting was the absolute worst group to have access to something of this magnitude. All of Silverclaw was with me, as well as our sworn Barriers and 8 warriors that had shown the most promising growth since our retreat in Apalachicola. Draegon, Ashton, Venus, Stevie, Jeverah, Allen, Pope, and Thella. After the fiasco with her brother, Jeverah made many strides to prove herself loyal, and became stronger.Ashton, under Carlton’s wing, had gotten better since then also, and tonight, he was being tested. They all were. The evening sky was dancing with its colors, marking the end of the day. I had hoped Sting would be winding down, ending their day.The fact that some of their men were captured, meant I had little time before they attempted to move their location, or dispose of my property. I w

  • Bowing to Silverclaw   28: Going International

SamanthaIt was moments before the cameras would begin rolling as we announced our global transition. My nerves were rolling, Ansel was hot on the trail for the Sting group, working closely with the police investigation, and I was sure we would have information soon. Though it didn’t stop my mind from wandering to what they may or may not have figured out about Lykanthrope. As Angel instructed, and Damon, I was presenting a solid face for my position as the reporters got ready. We stood in front of Silverclaw Enterprise headquarters at the top of the staircase. Carlton and Daniel were with Ansel, so it was me, Damon, Angel, and Vienna. There was a ribbon to be cut in front of us, and a very large audience. Being mindful of the fact that not only werewolves would see the broadcast, we ensured our words would fit with human society. And we certainly made technological advances for humans as well so we did not draw attention.Elixir 2.0 was our main focus for this though. “Thank you a

  • Bowing to Silverclaw   27: Understanding Silverclaw

Samantha“Sex?” Nick’s voice was even more confused than when we had begun.“When you take the Silverclaw oath, and name the family as yours, you have a very strong desire to be with Samantha, and her you.” Angel explained. “We had no idea at the time, she was messing with some chemicals and tech, managed to change her blood, even her very core. A blood oath was to give me similar abilities, and it did…but it did more than that.”Each of the Silverclaw members chuckled at Nick’s expression. He looked at Damon and Carlton. “But you’re both gay.”“Oh not for the first week after we became Silverclaw honey.” Damon answered and we all began laughing some more.“Even though you had mates?” Nick’s eyes were incredulous. “You brought them that pain of…of the betrayal?” He tried wrapping his mind around the concept, we could all tell.“That doesn’t happen with this.” Daniel took up the explanation. “After the bloodletting part of the oath, we actually become a more unified being. Our minds me

SamanthaCarlton laughed and slapped Nick on the back. “It’s quite a bit more than just a blood oath buddy.”“So I’ve heard.” Nick answered wryly. “And seen.” He looked at me pointedly.I sighed. He really wasn’t going to let this go.“Bro, you haven’t seen anything yet.” Ansel took another swig of his beer before continuing. “Silverclaw isn’t your typical wolf, on a larger scale than you think.”“Then tell me. What’s the big secret? What makes you guys so close and so special? You guys are closer to each other and to Samantha than anyone else, even though you have mates, I can see you’re each bonded closely. Especially to Sam.”Vienna looked uneasily around at everyone. “Nick, this isn’t something we can talk about here.” Her voice was hushed. “Becoming Silverclaw and its ins and outs are saved for a discussion with those we seriously consider allowing to join. If they choose that it isn’t worth it, they are turned away with the assurance they speak to no one about what it entails.”

  • Bowing to Silverclaw   25: Not Ready

SamanthaNick’s words stunned me into silence as I looked him in the eye. My world seemed to spin. How could he want to be Silverclaw?“Nick…you would have to denounce Dragonmoon…you’d never be the alpha of your pack. You’ve been groomed to take it over by Serburi.”“I know all of that. But you’re more of an alpha than I ever was Samantha. Silverclaw is important to me, I love you as much as the rest of your Silverclaw family.”“Nick, you don’t understand what you’re asking. Not really. Becoming Silverclaw changes us…” I faltered for the words to say. There were so many things that came with taking on the blood oath, much different than anyone could experience with any other oath bond.“Alpha,” Draegon came up to me and Nick before Nick could reply. He bowed deeply. “May I have this dance?”During my conversation with Nick, the music had taken a bit of a slower turn, in my eagerness to stop the conversation with Nick I agreed. Setting my beer on the table nearest to me, I let Draegon
