Samantha “Have you made a decision for Elixir 2.0?” Damon, a trusted advisor, and my personal secretary, was helping launch our latest product for the were community. Every member of the Newblood Pack was entitled to have a test run with each new product from Silverclaw Enterprise, among many other special benefits, before products were shipped throughout the states. Our next step after a successful launch of the latest? International. “I have, I’m thinking the theme should address it’s personal use for thought collection.” I pinched the bridge of my nose. “Something to make it like a familial memory board.” He tapped his chin thoughtfully with his pen before his eyes widened in excitement. “What about a picture frame! You know those adorable digital ones, except it would show the thought collection in whichever sequence they choose.” I smiled, jumped from my chair and squeezed his arms excitedly. “It’s perfect Damon. You’re the best!” “Of course I am dear, it’s why you hired me.” He gushed. “I know, I know, I’m so late!” Angel burst through the door with three full bags. I smiled at her flustered state. “Truer words were never spoken.” She threw down the bags and wrapped her arms around me tightly. “I’m sorry the trip took so long, Daniel insisted that we meet with as many as possible to get ready for the global announcement.” “Don’t worry about it, Damon and Carlton were awesome helpers.” I rubbed her back before letting go and spoke to Damon. “Go and join Carlton honey, Angel and I have some catching up to do.” Damon perked up immediately. He loved work and me, but he adored his mate and I knew they had both been running themselves ragged lately. “Tell me about London! Was it fabulous?” I asked Angel as Damon skipped out of the office. Her eyes sparkled. “It was, I spoke with the Earl, and he got me in to see the Duke, which led to meeting with their king, they agreed to sign with us for the launch.” I breathed a sigh of relief, after failing to reach them initially, Allison took it upon herself to go to London with her mate and secure the deal. That gave us Russia, Germany, the UK, China, and Italy. “Can you believe that it has only been 3 years since we started this company in our dorm?” I mused. She giggled. “Of course I can, with your determination and the help of Dragonmoon, there was nothing in our way. Speaking of, have you spoken to Nicholas?” She sat on my desk gingerly while I sat on the windowsill. “I haven’t, when we talked last week I told him about the launch and he agreed to help, but then he was silent.” I shrugged. “It’s not like he owes me anything.” She stood up quickly. “Of course not, but you paid the investment in full with interest, you don’t owe anything either.” Angel wasn’t wrong, but I missed seeing Nicholas immensely. We never dated or became an official anything, and that was my idea. I had no interest in getting to the top with a man at my side. I wasn’t sure I wanted anyone by my side now either. But I still felt a pull to him, as he did me. “How about dinner tonight before we go to Fallen Heights?” Angel suggested. I groaned loudly. “I forgot all about that.” No, I hadn’t forgotten, I just carefully placed it somewhere in the back of my mind so nothing would disrupt the launch of Elixir 2.0, I hadn’t been back there since before college. Angel looked at me knowingly. “You need to be at that meeting Sam, if anyone goes in your stead they won’t sign the contract. Besides they are all incredibly curious about the new pack growing at a rate faster than any other in were history.” “Ugh. I know it.” “They won’t even recognize you!” She looped her arm in mine and dragged me from the office for dinner. The headquarters for Silverclaw Enterprise was located in Miami, Florida and was tall enough to see the ocean and the beautiful city. It became home after finishing our degrees at TSU. We launched the tech company in college and it grew phenomenally within the first year of being here. Between TSU and Dragonmoon, the startup funds were substantial. We paid everyone back in full after just 8 months of business in Florida. Then we launched SilverThread, a fashion company tailored to Angel’s dream with Silverclaw Enterprise behind it. That company was thriving as well with Angel as the face of it. Very few people from our past knew who started the companies, during the tech launch in college it was carefully disguised under our new aliases with a select few in the loop. After Angel found her mate, Daniel, during our last year at TSU, he became one of the very few within the circle. Carlton found his mate when we moved here, his initial plan was to stay home and promote from afar, but Damon was unwilling to leave me despite the love for his mate. Carlton took the Silverclaw name with Angel and I, and stayed. Everyone who became a high ranking member of the Newblood Pack took a blood oath and the last name Silverclaw. We were a family of our own despite not having a genetic bloodtie. And the family was growing, the pack thrived under the stable leadership and more kept joining every month. It was already bigger than I dreamed it would be, with no signs of any stagnation. And the best part? I was only just beginning. Currently, Silverclaw was not technically established in the alpha treaty for the states. That was part of the reason for this trip, they agreed to sign a contract establishing their interest in growing Silverclaw Enterprise with us, so long as we would abide by an alpha treaty for the states. I sighed and looked longingly at the city as our private plane took off. Angel and Damon both joined me, while Daniel and Carlton stayed back to manage the pack and the company at home base. I was really hoping this would be a quick visit and that we were able to leave immediately after the meeting with the alphas in the western part of the states. “Ansel is meeting us in Fallen Heights rights?” I wanted to confirm before we got too far. Angel smiled and leaned back into her seat. “He is. So will Vienna.” I breathed a sigh of relief. Ansel was the smartest guy I had ever met, he had a heart of gold and his Vienna was quick on her feet. They were perfectly matched for each other, and he was the best gamma.Samantha“You’re a cheeky little shit, aren’t you?” I wrapped my hand around his neck and squeezed just a bit. I chuckled darkly. “Kill the rest, he’s going to help us get our property back. His eyes widened as the rest of his companions were slaughtered right in front of him. “I said—” he began to splutter, and I smacked him harshly.“You said your death would make the news public. You are alive. And do you honestly believe I would let these little friends of yours live, knowing what they know?” I scoffed, “I’m not daft.”“How do I know you won’t kill me and my other friend the moment you have Lykanthrope?”“You don’t. As it is, we need a test subject, and we have a deal. I don’t go back on my word.” I pushed him back as I let my hand drop from his throat. “Now, let us go find your special friend.”As it happened, his friend was nearby. Within walking distance even. ‘I think enough tweaks with Lykanthrope could force loyalty from anyone.’ Ansel mind linked me.‘He’s right, a couple
SamanthaIt was silent when we reached the abandoned factory, eerie. It didn’t bother me though, I would kill every last one of them if I needed to in order to get the schematics of Lykanthrope back. Sting was the absolute worst group to have access to something of this magnitude. All of Silverclaw was with me, as well as our sworn Barriers and 8 warriors that had shown the most promising growth since our retreat in Apalachicola. Draegon, Ashton, Venus, Stevie, Jeverah, Allen, Pope, and Thella. After the fiasco with her brother, Jeverah made many strides to prove herself loyal, and became stronger.Ashton, under Carlton’s wing, had gotten better since then also, and tonight, he was being tested. They all were. The evening sky was dancing with its colors, marking the end of the day. I had hoped Sting would be winding down, ending their day.The fact that some of their men were captured, meant I had little time before they attempted to move their location, or dispose of my property. I w
SamanthaIt was moments before the cameras would begin rolling as we announced our global transition. My nerves were rolling, Ansel was hot on the trail for the Sting group, working closely with the police investigation, and I was sure we would have information soon. Though it didn’t stop my mind from wandering to what they may or may not have figured out about Lykanthrope. As Angel instructed, and Damon, I was presenting a solid face for my position as the reporters got ready. We stood in front of Silverclaw Enterprise headquarters at the top of the staircase. Carlton and Daniel were with Ansel, so it was me, Damon, Angel, and Vienna. There was a ribbon to be cut in front of us, and a very large audience. Being mindful of the fact that not only werewolves would see the broadcast, we ensured our words would fit with human society. And we certainly made technological advances for humans as well so we did not draw attention.Elixir 2.0 was our main focus for this though. “Thank you a
Samantha“Sex?” Nick’s voice was even more confused than when we had begun.“When you take the Silverclaw oath, and name the family as yours, you have a very strong desire to be with Samantha, and her you.” Angel explained. “We had no idea at the time, she was messing with some chemicals and tech, managed to change her blood, even her very core. A blood oath was to give me similar abilities, and it did…but it did more than that.”Each of the Silverclaw members chuckled at Nick’s expression. He looked at Damon and Carlton. “But you’re both gay.”“Oh not for the first week after we became Silverclaw honey.” Damon answered and we all began laughing some more.“Even though you had mates?” Nick’s eyes were incredulous. “You brought them that pain of…of the betrayal?” He tried wrapping his mind around the concept, we could all tell.“That doesn’t happen with this.” Daniel took up the explanation. “After the bloodletting part of the oath, we actually become a more unified being. Our minds me
SamanthaCarlton laughed and slapped Nick on the back. “It’s quite a bit more than just a blood oath buddy.”“So I’ve heard.” Nick answered wryly. “And seen.” He looked at me pointedly.I sighed. He really wasn’t going to let this go.“Bro, you haven’t seen anything yet.” Ansel took another swig of his beer before continuing. “Silverclaw isn’t your typical wolf, on a larger scale than you think.”“Then tell me. What’s the big secret? What makes you guys so close and so special? You guys are closer to each other and to Samantha than anyone else, even though you have mates, I can see you’re each bonded closely. Especially to Sam.”Vienna looked uneasily around at everyone. “Nick, this isn’t something we can talk about here.” Her voice was hushed. “Becoming Silverclaw and its ins and outs are saved for a discussion with those we seriously consider allowing to join. If they choose that it isn’t worth it, they are turned away with the assurance they speak to no one about what it entails.”
SamanthaNick’s words stunned me into silence as I looked him in the eye. My world seemed to spin. How could he want to be Silverclaw?“Nick…you would have to denounce Dragonmoon…you’d never be the alpha of your pack. You’ve been groomed to take it over by Serburi.”“I know all of that. But you’re more of an alpha than I ever was Samantha. Silverclaw is important to me, I love you as much as the rest of your Silverclaw family.”“Nick, you don’t understand what you’re asking. Not really. Becoming Silverclaw changes us…” I faltered for the words to say. There were so many things that came with taking on the blood oath, much different than anyone could experience with any other oath bond.“Alpha,” Draegon came up to me and Nick before Nick could reply. He bowed deeply. “May I have this dance?”During my conversation with Nick, the music had taken a bit of a slower turn, in my eagerness to stop the conversation with Nick I agreed. Setting my beer on the table nearest to me, I let Draegon
