Chapter 39| Someone Knew The Plan

Astrid’s/ Veronica’s POV

Five days had passed, and still the same. I was always beside the Alpha to gain his trust. Not even in a second that I forget the plan.

But, something was bothering me. It is the Alpha smile.

Alpha Vincent smiled at me genuinely last time. I put my right hand above my chest to feel my heart start to beat faster.

That was the first time I saw the Alpha smile. Never in my life have I seen him smile, a genuine smile. Most of the time, his face is blank, and sometimes, furious.

In the end, I brushed it out of my head.

"That smile is nothing," I whispered and focused on my task.

When I had already finished my last task which was cleaning the pack's restroom, I went back to my chamber to rest. When I entered, I was startled when I saw Clara sitting on my bed.
