Sunday morning felt like the longest morning of my life.

I got to the office at seven AM. Two hours before Emma was supposed to arrive. I made coffee. I paced. I stared at the photo of Alex Reed that I had pulled from the school's website.

Those blue eyes stared back at me. My eyes.

I had spent all of Saturday night going through old photos. Looking at pictures of myself at eight years old. The resemblance was undeniable.

But I needed to be sure. I needed to hear it from Emma.

My phone buzzed. A text from Emma.

*"I'm here. Should I come up?"*

It was only 8:30. She was thirty minutes early.

*"Yes. Come to my office."*

I sat behind my desk and tried to look calm. Professional. Like this was just a normal Sunday meeting with my assistant.

Very emotional...I teared up with this chapter. If he only knew Emma was threatened by his mom and knew she was pregnant. I'm sure he still loves "his Emma." Alex is a bonus.
