Mag-log inI had to break this chapter up because it was too big, over 5600 words. Yikes!
Keith's POVI feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up as I enter the familiar small town in the middle of nowhere. My knuckles turn white as my hands tighten around the steering wheel. I glance out the window at the old buildings along the single short strip, also known as their downtown. There's not much here. If you blink, you might miss it. There's a small post office, and next to it is a gas station that doubles as the town's grocery store. There's a small bar a little ways down, and across the street there's a feed store, and a barbershop beside it…Then, just like that… farmland. Farmland as far as the eye can see. It's exactly the same as it was fourteen years ago when I walked away from this place with my brother in my arms.I continue past the way too small town, and it's not long before I see the place I'm dreading on the other side of the fields to my left. I see the thick row of trees that hides the place that still haunts my dreams. It's tucked within the woods, an
Tristan's POVI hear Walker pushing things around in the closet as I dig through the dirty clothes basket. My nose scrunches when I find Walker's dirty socks. I pluck them out with my fingertips and drop them on the floor before moving along, continuing with my mission. My wolf gets excited when I find one of Walker's dirty tank tops, and it's still damp with sweat from his workout. His strong masculine scent oozes from the shirt, and I stuff my nose in it. My eyes roll back, and my wolf rolls over in my head, baring its belly and wagging its tail. I place it on top of my findings so I can keep smelling it while I dig around to see what other gems hide in here. “Damn it! I can't find any of my tank tops!” Walker complains from inside the closet. My head pops out of the hamper, my eyes wide, listening to see if he's still in the closet. I hear the hangers slide against the bar, letting me know he is still in there. I settle with what I have and shove everything I didn't want back ins
Keith's POVI don't know what I'm doing here. I don't know why I've been sitting across the street from his house for over the past two hours. I can't bring myself to get out of the car and knock on the door. I haven't spoken to Peter since the day he left. Hell, I barely spoke to him before he left. I don't know what it was about Jason getting hurt that fucked me up so much, but it did. I completely withdrew from Peter and everything outside of Jason. I couldn't focus on anything or anyone but my brother. Maybe I was waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under my feet. Waiting for them to tell me my brother never got off that table, and I've been imagining he is alive, and nothing's been real since that day in the hospital... I suppose that's it. I've been afraid of losing the last piece of family I have left. I don't know. Or maybe it's more than that. Since the day Jason was born, I've always been so close to him. That little dude had me wrapped around his finger from the mom
Armand's POV Warmth wraps around us as we slowly dance. Whatever chaos is going on inside is outside of our little bubble. It's just Jason and me, and I couldn't be more thankful for that distraction that left us alone, giving me this quiet moment with my mate. Another slow song plays over the speakers, and my heart feels content. I don't know how I keep getting lucky; every song has been a slow one, allowing me to hold him close. Allowing me to feel his arms around me. I don't know if it's the alcohol, and I'm sure it is, but I'm thankful he's not scared of me right now. I'm thankful he's letting me hold him, dance with him, and feel him in my arms. He's so small for a submissive Delta 2, and I love it. He fits so perfectly in my arms, more perfectly than I thought was possible. If he accepts me, I'm not sure how this will work, but for now, I'm not going to think about it. I'm going to enjoy this moment. I'm going to focus on how good it feels to hold him in my arms and dance
Tristan's POV Derek and I rush into the packhouse and follow Walker's voice, which leads us into a small conference room to the right. I slide to a stop inside the room the moment my eyes land on Walker and Alex. To say I'm shocked is an understatement. Walker looks like he wants to kill Alex. I've never seen him this angry with a pack member, especially not one he considers family. Walker's anger is palpable. I can feel it rolling off of him in waves, vibrating through the room along with his continuous growl. His aura is so strong, dominant, thick and heavy, and it's the first time I've felt it affect me in a long time. I whimper as I'm forced to bare my neck.I feel Derek's hand press against my back between my shoulder blades, and gently move me forward, closer to Walker, closer to the weight of his aura. My heart races. The closer he moves me to Walker, the more the room feels void of air, making it hard to breathe. I can barely feel my legs, or barely register the fact that Der
Third Person's POVThe Alpha's booming, furious voice echoes through the packhouse, reaching everyone on the back deck. Ryan stood staring at the back door for several moments before his anger bubbled over and he stormed inside after them, ready to give his best friend a piece of his mind. However, once he reached the room where Walker had dragged Alex, he wasn't sure he'd get the chance to give him a piece of his mind. At this rate, he fears he might be burying Alex instead of lecturing him. The Alpha has Alex pinned to a wall, their noses practically touching as Walker rages on, giving the Delta a piece of his mind for what he did six years ago. Alex is white as a ghost, and Ryan wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't pissed himself, because Walker's rage is more than intense. His aura is thick, heavy, and suffocating, even for the Beta.Seeing Walker's rage only getting stronger, Ryan frantically presses on Derek and Tristan's link, and the two scramble inside, leaving Jason and Arma
