Melissa's POV

Alpha Magus acted strangely as he talked, not like the normal

His son didn't utter any word, although I wasn't looking at him, and I didn't even know what he was up to at that moment, but I knew he was silent.

“Caius”

I muttered silently as my head was buried to the ground, I bit my lower lips.

“Caius, that's his name”

I muttered silently again as I lifted my head slowly from the ground

This was the first time I was hearing his name, we never introduced ourselves that night. We obviously met that night for fun per say and there was no way we thought we were going to see each other again.

“She is Princess Melissa Thornhart, the daughter of Alpha Lawrence the leader of the Eclipse Pack of the North” Alpha Magnus voice roared out loud like a lion.

At this point, he was standing close to the door, But as soon as he was done talking, he walked closer to where I sat and stood just beside his son Caius.

“Princess Melissa?”

Caius asked in disbelief as his voice rose to a scream.

He stared at his father with his eyes opened widely before staring back at me who sat just opposite him. It was clear that he must be shocked of my identity.

He probably couldn't believe his eyes that a princess of the Eclipse Pack of The North would stoop so low to have a one-night stand just that easily. He definitely would have heard how high and mighty my father was and how he had spoiled me with things.

My eyes met with that of Caius and for a moment, my heart pounded faster not like the usual, it was actually something different, I could feel it, it was nothing like the ordinary, I tried to figure out exactly just happened but I couldn't.

"Yes, he felt it too, I sensed it," I thought as my eyes widened, immediately he looked away just like his heart melted away.

I just noticed, he still didn't say a word. His father still standing beside me

“He is still shocked” I thought to myself

But suddenly, he turned to me slowly, squatting just very close to me just then his next word sent cold chills to my spine

“Kill her now !!”

Kill who? What exactly did I just hear? I thought to myself.

Yes !! Caius had every right to be irritated, but I was never expecting him to spill this out.

“What do you mean Caius?” His father voice rose up but this time in a mild tone

This was the first time Alpha Magnus had spoken mildly ever since I found myself here, he wasn't harsh, nor sarcastic in his choice of words.

I could read from his father's lip, that he also wasn't expecting to hear that from him, not now, not even at this moment.

He had probably thought that Caius was going to make mockery of me and then maybe encouraged him to have me to himself through the night.

“Yes father. Why hesitating? You should have her killed this minute” Caius voice sprang up like the blaring of a phone in an empty room.

His father didn't utter a word, he just stared at him, probably waiting for the next word from him.

Just as expected Caius knew the assignment as he turned again, this time, he looked directly at me, his eyes piercing my soul like a sharp sword.

“I can't stand seeing her alive, her father killed mother, and I wouldn't just let that pass, she is unfortunate to be here today, and just like you have always said an eye for an eye, father, a tooth for a tooth. Isn't that right father?” Caius continued, his eyes still boring into mine.

To be honest. It sounded like a joke when he had made the statement for the first time earlier, but a second time meant that he was playing no games.

His father had obviously told him that I was the daughter of his enemy —The one who had slain his mother, and honestly I knew my father would do the same if he was in their shoes.

My heart ached as I tried to speak, my lips trembled as words failed to proceed from my mouth. It seemed like the words were too heavy. I tried to force the words from me as tears streamed down my cheeks again. I had thought that this part was over, it felt like going back to the beginning to solve a puzzle already halfway done.

“Please, don't kill me, I beg you, I beg you” I said as I began to cry profusely.

Honestly. At this point I just didn't know what else to do, I had begun to regret why I had run away from my father, maybe getting married to Ronan wouldn't be as bad as being killed in a strange place.

I just couldn't get killed. Jace and Brandon would never forgive themselves if they heard that I didn't get to the penthouse safely and was killed by my father's greatest enemy — Alpha Magnus Vortan

“You shouldn't beg me, I have no reason to forgive you. Your father ruined everything that I had, and you know he took the best thing of my life away from me, do you know how it feels to live without a mother. Do you !! ?” He roared as his voice echoed through the hallway.

“I know. I obviously don't know how it feels, I'm spoilt, I've been with my mom and dad since I was born, but I'm sorry if my father hurt you and took something precious from you” I replied as tears rolled down to my cheeks.

“Yes, this is the reason, that's the point. They should also know what it feels like to live without a daughter as well, I'm going to take their precious girl away from them” Caius roared again as he reached out for a metal bar close to him.

Jace's POV It was the third day of the investigation, and Brandon and I stood behind the transparent glass, watching the men who had been refusing to cooperate with the authorities. We had been observing them for hours, studying their body language, searching for any sign of weakness, but they seemed like impenetrable fortresses. The previous days had been a grind, with interrogation after interrogation, but we were no closer to the truth. The men had been tortured, but they had refused to break, their silence a maddening wall that we couldn't seem to crack. As we watched, one of the men glanced up, his eyes meeting mine through the glass. I felt a shiver run down my spine, his gaze cold and defiant, like a challenge.I turned to Brandon, my voice low. "I think it's time we had a little chat with them."Brandon nodded, his eyes never leaving the men. "I'm ready."I signaled to the detective, who was watching from the other side of the room. He nodded, and the door swung open, allowi

Melissa's POV I had instructed Susie to continue to reach out to the lady who stays at the flower store, but the more we tried to get to her, the more elusive she became. She wasn't picking up her calls, and she didn't even have the courtesy to provide a reason for her actions. Every memory of the day still lingered in my head as I thought about it. There was a possibility that she was scared of something, and those people she mentioned, who were they? I didn't even know her name. Why would she be chased after? Was there something we didn't know about this mysterious lady?I thought, my mind racing with questions and theories. How would we ever reach her? She was the only one I thought was going to help us out. I sighed as I stared at my reflection in the mirror, my eyes tracing the lines of my face. I brushed my hair slightly, trying to shake off the feeling of frustration that had been building up inside me.Furthermore, I needed to be at the medical center again, Ryker needed to

Princess Lyra's POV I stormed out of the living room, the Grand Prince words still echoing in my ears. I paced the room, my anger and frustration boiling over. How could Grand Prince do this to me? How could he just postpone the wedding like it was nothing? My father followed me, his eyes watching me with a mixture of concern and amusement. "What's going on, Lyra?" he asked, his voice calm. "Why is the Grand Prince postponing the wedding?"I turned to him, my eyes flashing with anger. "It's that Melissa, Father," I spat. "I'm sure she's behind this. She's trying to sabotage the wedding, to come between the Grand Prince and me."My father nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I see," he said. "And are you letting her intimidate you?"I laughed, a cold, calculated sound. "Intimidate me? Melissa? Don't be ridiculous, Father. She's just an ant, an insignificant little insect that I'll crush soon enough."My father smiled, pride reflecting in his eyes. "Ah, Lyra, That's my girl, you'

Grand Prince Caius POVI settled into the plush armchair in the library, surrounded by shelves stacked high with books, and began to browse through the titles. My eyes scanned the spines, and I selected a worn leather-bound volume, opening it to reveal yellowed pages filled with words. I read for a while, losing myself in the stories and ideas, but eventually, my mind began to wander. I felt restless, and my thoughts turned to the past. While, I really just wanted to take my mind off everything, the pains of seeing the Alpha and Melissa together and the possibility that Melissa could be pregnant for himI set the book aside and leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes. A soft knock at the door interrupted my reverie, and one of my personal guards, a trusted man named Marcus, entered the room. He approached me, a gentle smile on his face, and produced a stack of photographs from behind his back."I thought you might like to look at these, Your Highness," he said, his voice low and resp

Melissa's POVSusie and I stepped out of the flower store, the bright sunlight hit me like a slap in the face. I squinted, my eyes adjusting to the sudden change in lighting. I was about to get into the car when my gaze drifted to the side, and my heart skipped a beat. A taxi had just zoomed past us, and I caught a glimpse of the lady who had been in the flower store with us earlier. The same lady who could decipher the code.My eyes widened as I realized she was getting away. "Stop! Stop the car!" I shouted to the guards, my voice urgent. I pointed to the taxi, my hand shaking slightly. "Follow that car! Now!"The guards sprang into action, and our car lurched forward as the driver inserted the key and started the engine. The sound of the engine roaring to life was music to my ears. With a swift turn, the car moved, and we were off, speeding down the road in pursuit of the taxi.My heart was racing as I urged the driver to keep up."Don't lose them! We can't let her get away!" I

  • Bred by the Vortan Alphas    Chapter 121: Who was coming ?

Melissa's POV As Susie and I stormed out of my chambers, the sound of our footsteps echoed through the hallway. We made our way to the garage, where the Alpha's guards were waiting for us. Eight guards stood at attention, excluding the drivers for the other cars. Susie and I got into one of the cars, accompanied by two guards, while the others followed in separate vehicles.*****The driver navigated through the traffic, and I glanced at my wristwatch, my heart racing with anticipation. We had only 15 minutes to meet the lady at the flower store. After 10 minutes of driving, the driver made a sharp U-turn and glided down the lane where the stores were located. As soon as the car parked, one of the guards quickly exited the vehicle and opened the door for me. I hurriedly alighted, my eyes scanning the surroundings before turning to instruct the guards. "All of you should stay right here, Susie and I will go inside. I'll call you if I need you," I ordered firmly. The guards exchange
