Zevara's POV

I could feel the pain in Talon's voice. I can feel the deep regret and frustration that bubbled inside him… but then, I couldn't bear to look back. I couldn't bear to comfort him because everything he said was true. A girl like myself doesn't deserve to be loved—little wonder why my own mother doesn't love me.

My eyes blurred but I didn't let the tears spill because I was an hypocrite and no matter how much I regretted treating him in that manner, it doesn't change the fact that I still wanted and chose his father over him.
