Grey POV

I woke up this morning in a better mood than I have been in a long time. I decided to listen to my therapist and take some antidepressants. I needed to change my life and return to my children's lives. I was spending extra time on my appearance before my children arrived from home camp. I miss hanging out with my little girl. Well, she's not so little anymore. Where has the time gone? Just yesterday, she was ten years old, it seems like. I was sitting on my bed, trying to think about her birthday party, struggling to remember one party.

"You have been drunk the majority of the time. I'm surprised you still know you have children," Derrick laughed at me.

"I'm not that bad of a father," I refuted his claim.

"If you say so," as he returned to the back of my mind.

As I stood on Beta Anthony's porch, I could hear them talking about camp. The joy in their voice was infectious. Before knocking on the door, I heard Libby say she learned the meaning of being a Luna, and Louis said he won Nightshade Blade in a fighting competition.

"I would like to see what fighting skills this prick has learned," Derrick said, coming to the front of my mind. He was eagerly pacing in my mind, ready to take control at the sight of Louis.

"Can you leave him alone? He hasn't said or done anything to get you angry."

"I'm going to leave him in a body bag." The way Derrick sounded it, I knew he meant business. I shoved him out so he could not hurt Louis today.

Regaining my composure, I proceed to knock on the door. Stepping into the house, all the laughter stopped. All eyes looked up at me from the dining room table, but Louis was not among them. It was a sigh of relief. I did not feel like fighting with my wolf for control and finding a seat at the dining room table, glancing at Libby while she was eating lunch with Beta Anthony and Kim.

When Libby got up to clear the table, I took the opportunity to hug her. Libby stood there stiff as a board. I continued to watch Libby as she cleaned up the kitchen. She reminds me so much of her mother from the way she looks and talks. It brought back memories of my wife and the good times we had. Those memories seem to settle Derrick. It's been a while since I heard silence from him. It felt good to have a moment of peace.

"Libby, would you like to go for ice cream with me?" Her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. She looked at me like I had grown three heads, and then she looked at my Beta as if silently asking for permission.

"I would love to," she seemed nervous, but I expected that with how I have been acting lately. We enjoyed our father-and-daughter time at the ice cream shop. Libby continually talked while we were there. When I would bring up Louis, she would avoid that part of the conversation. It was like he was invisible, and she didn't know much about her twin.

Later that evening, we went home and watched movies. It was a great day, except Louis, who continuously avoided me at every turn. I went upstairs to Louis's room to see how he was doing and if he needed me to do anything for him. I knocked on his door, but my knocks went unanswered. I felt heartbroken that Louis couldn't even spare me five minutes of his time.

"I know I have not been the picture-perfect father, but at least today I was trying," I yelled at his door. No matter what I said or did, Louis still refused to acknowledge my existence. After standing at his door for a long time, I decided to go for a walk.

When I walked outside, I saw Louis on the swing set. I chuckled to myself. I was banging on his room door, and he was outside the entire time. Walking to the swing set, but he tried to run away. Grabbing ahold of his arm, "Could we talk for a second?" He was speechless that I was not causing him any harm.

"I overheard you tell Beta Anthony's a Nightshade Blade. Did you enjoy the wrestling class at camp?"

"It was cool. The kids there had a lot of different talents." Scratching his head nervously.

It was surprising to hear him talk. This is the most he has spoken to me in years. I could tell he didn't fully trust me enough to let his guard down as he shuffled back and forth. Leaving him outside to enjoy the summer and walking around the community, I noticed how much it had changed. It used to be full of life, and now it isn't very interesting. No one was outside on their porches, no kids were running around, and most shops were closed. I don't know how long I walked, but I found myself at my wife's grave. It's been a while since I visited her. I sat there long, crying and begging her for forgiveness. I woke up the following day in my wolf form. Derrick was crying and angry that he could not protect her. He was asking her how to heal his broken heart. He needed her to take his pain away. I felt terrible for him. I never gave him a chance to grieve. It was all about me.

By the time I made it back home, everyone was at the kitchen table eating breakfast. It was my first time eating food that Louis cooked.

"Louis, this meal was delicious. I'm sorry for judging you before." He was utterly shocked by my compliment, especially since I was against him learning how to cook.

She made sure all our clothes coordinated with one another. We were primarily there to carry her bags while she shopped. After shopping for hours, we took a break at a nearby cafe to eat when we heard a female voice screaming."Help me, Help me. My house is on fire." This fine mocha chocolate girl ran up to us. Even in her distressed state, she was still beautiful. Taking action, Lillian called 9-1-1 and we followed her to her home. The house was engulfed in flames. The fire was worse than I expected. "My parents are still inside. Please help them." Shaking and screaming hysterically. Lillian held her back from running into that burning inferno.Finding an opening, I rushed in. Ashley POVAfter breakfast, I just wanted to be left alone to clear my head. All this stress was causing me a migraine. I took some pain relievers and sat on the balcony. I watched the children play and it reminded me of the time when King would sneak over to my house and hang out with me. The uncertainty of my brother's whereabouts was nerve-wracking. I called and texted the number Trevor gave me, but no answer. Memories of my dreams returned and held his lifeless body clutched against my chest. I wished I had more time to get to know him, more time to be a better sister or more time to save him. Cringing from the memories, I climbed on the rails and jumped down off the balcony, landing on all four paws. Amelia took off running full speed to this dreadful place called home. All my life I have avoided going back there. My mother has taken too much from me and I will not let her take my brother's life for helping me. It's me she wants.

Her silk nightgown sticking to her body covered in sweat, her claws submerged in our mattress, her eyes black as night, and white fur sprouting along her arms. I bolted to the side of her bed, "Sweetness, focus on my voice. You need to calm down. Tell me what happened in your dream. Let me help you."Her eyes snapped to me. A menacing growl left out her mouth before she pounced on me. Her claws slashed across my ribs as I sidestepped her attack. "She is not awake. I think she is sleepwalking or fighting I should say." Majestic stressed. "Just great. My mate has lost her mind." I was overwhelmed and conflicted. I didn't want to hurt her.Clutching my side, while she shifts stalks towards me. She looks feral. Ashley POVThe plummeting smell of sewage and mold. The sound of dripping water echoed in this hollow tunnel. I open my eyes wide, but all I see is darkness. Try to rub my eyes when I realize my wrist is bound, I go to scream, but my voice is muffled. Grinding my teeth to feel a cloth shoved in my mouth. This cannot be happening; rotten away in this forsaken place, left with no option, but to wait for the mastermind. The sound of shoes making their way down the tunnel splashing water along the way. Focusing on the heartbeats there are at least four people here. The covering is pulled from my head. What I didn't expect to see was a male figure sitting across from me. His body stabbed up, watching me with his intense stare. His eyes are emotionless as we gaze at each other. My heart was beaten rapidly with one thought in mind to protect whomever this was. No one deserves this type of torture."Hold on, stay with me," fighting agains

Soft sunlight filters through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the hospital room. The sound of beeping machines fills the air. Ashley squinted her eyes, her gaze was unfocused at first. She cries out in pain as her body is covered in bruises, and her face is marked with signs of torture. Sitting in a chair beside the hospital bed, my face traced with fear and remorse. I watch as Ashley stirs and finally wakes up. Leaning forward, I placed my forehead on hers, enjoying the electric sensations I had missed these past few days. Sharing an intimate moment of silent strength, and determination to face the challenges ahead together."Ashley? Can you hear me?" Her eyes focused on me, and a quick smile sat on her face as she managed to nod. Her voice is barely a whisper. Her gaze shifted to the window, and the smile on her face disappeared. Her thoughts drift to the suffering she's endured. "I didn't think I'

The room went silent. Trevor shaking hands, grabbed King by his collar and sat him upright. Slamming him back into the wall." This better not harm my mate or pup. Or else all deals will be null and void. The title you care so much about will be mine." Trevor slapped King in his face."Now that everything has come to terms. King, how do we get into New Moon?" Standing up, I noticed Trevor and Levi both hunched over. I sprinted to my gym bag and checked my phone. I saw countless missed calls and 911 texts from Libby and Ashley with their location. Moving like our ass was on fire. Jumping into the car, spraying dirt along the driveway as we head for the city. En route to the city, the highway was blocked off on both sides. Growing impatient. Banging on the dashboard and millions of thoughts going through my mind. Gripping the steering wheels, my knuckles turned white as tan fur sprouted along my arms."Let's just shift and run the rest of the way there," I yelled."There are too many people. We cannot risk being seen. It will alert the humans. They have enough to worry about as it is. How m
