Chapter 10

" The number you've dialed is unavailable. Please leave a voice message or call back later..." a tiny voice echoed from the other end of the call. Angela drew her lower lip in between her teeth and bit gently. She couldn't seem to settle down.

" Where could she be? She's always home before this time. Denise..." she complained. Finally, she slumped into the couch and embraced a pillow beside her. " Denise, I hope you are safe out there" she thought to herself.

Just then, her phone beeped. " Denise?" her eyes sparkled with joy. She answered the call quickly without checking the caller's name. " Good heavens! Why did it take you so long to call me? Don't ever try to give me a heart attack. Jeez...!

" Excuse me, is this Miss Angela?" the voice from the other end of the call inquired bringing Ann back to her senses.

" Ye---s" she managed to reply. The caller went on and on. " We'll see at work tomorrow. Make sure to get the files processed. I'm looking forward to a great work"
