FLASHBACK – SEVEN YEARS AGONatasha turned the key and pulled her locker open. She packed her books slowly, her head bent over and her face covered with her long hair to hide her face from the people around her. She wasn’t exactly what you would call popular, but she was quite known. In fact, people knew her because they knew her sister was currently the C.E.O of a company. Of course, none of them knew her sister was married to a famous person – that was a secret and the only person who knew was Alyssa.Speaking of Alyssa……“Hey, you know I can still see your face right?” Alyssa said in an amused tone behind her.Natasha jerked up, hitting the back of her head on the door of the locker. She turned to face her best friend, a frown on her face as she rubbed the back of her head. “Did you have to scare me?” she asked Alyssa who simply shrugged. “How long have you been standing there?”“Quite a while.”“Creep,” Natasha muttered and Alyssa smirked.“That’s me,” she answered and Natasha rol
Natasha raised her hand and pressed the doorbell. The door was immediately thrown open by Evelyn who had a scowl on her face. Natasha gave her a small smile. “Good morning, Evelyn,” she greeted. Evelyn merely grunted and stepped aside for her to walk in. As she walked into the house, she asked, “Where are those two little darlings?”“School,” Evelyn grunted.“Oh Good.” Natasha played with the straps of her bag. “So…. Where is Mr. Grayson?”“He is at work,” Evelyn answered. “He asked me to put you through what you are supposed to do and he expects to see you when he returns from work,” she stated. She glanced around Natasha, a small frown on her face. “Where are your things?”Natasha frowned. “What things?”“Your clothes and stuff.”“My clothes?” Natasha echoed. “Why would I bring my clothes?” she wondered, confused.“Aren’t you staying here?” Evelyn asked, looking at Natasha. “Mr. Grayson made it sound like you would be living here from now on.”“What? No way. We didn’t talk about tha
Natasha sat on the couch in the living room, bored out if her mind and waiting for the kids to return from school. She busied herself going through their schedule so many times that she could swear she had committed it to memory. On Mondays, after lunch, Alex had piano lessons and Alexa had singing class, which meant Alex would stay at home while she took Alexa for her classes. Tuesday and Thursdays were free days for the both of them. On Wednesday, they both had swimming lessons. On Fridays, Alex had her dancing class while Alex had his football practice.Natasha thought about what Evelyn said. Was she really going to have to be living here? While that didn’t seem like a terrible idea, it wasn’t something Natasha was sure she wanted to do. She wanted to be close to her daughter and she didn’t think bringing Mirabella over would be such a good idea. She was going to hash this out with Mr. Grayson. She wasn’t going to be a live in nanny. The door was pushed open and Alex and Alexa walk
Malcolm hated himself. Literally. He hated himself for being attracted to his children’s new nanny. He hated that he couldn’t control his thoughts when she was around and he hated that that made him grumpy towards her. But it wasn’t his fault that he found her attractive. She was beautiful, anyone with two eyes could see that – with her long black hair and her striking hazel eyes. The way her lashes fluttered whenever he looked at her.Malcolm was starting to regret employing her. He had always had one rule and it was “Do not mix business with pleasure” and now, he was about to throw that rule out of the window for this woman. It was a terrible idea to sleep with his children’s nanny, yet he couldn’t stop thinking about it. Why couldn’t he stop thinking about it?Now, the same woman was moving into his house. He was in his office at home, listening to all the noise she was causing, simply by moving her things into the house. He could hear the jamming of doors and the sounds of his kid
FLASHBACK – SEVEN YEARS AGOMalcolm sat in the waiting room with his girlfriend, her hands enclosed in his. He tried to look okay, to look normal, but he could feel the beads of sweat breaking out on his forehead. He glanced at Yvette and he could se the wide smile on her lips. She was really excited to be pregnant. She kept glancing at him with bright smiles and he had to force himself to smile back at her.She leaned closer to him. “Hey,” she said, “You excited?”“Yeah…. I…. I am.” He hoped she couldn’t feel how sweaty his palm was. He hoped she couldn’t hear how loud his heart was beating against his chest. Was he really ready for this? Was he ready to have children? He still had his whole career going on for him. He needed to concentrate on that. Bu what could he do now? Yvette was excited at the prospects of having a baby and so were his parents. he couldn’t ask her to get rid of it now.“We are going to be amazing parents,” Yvette whispered to him. “Right?”“Right.” He choked ou
FLASHBACK – SEVEN YEARS AGO“Hey,” Paul said, stopping in front of Natasha.Natasha glanced up from her books and immediately lowered her gaze on seeing him. “Hi,” she mumbled shyly. She looked back up at him.“How long have you been here?” He whispered, looking around the quiet library. She shrugged. “A while ago. I’m hiding from Alyssa,” she said. Alyssa was her best friend, but there were days she got so intense about certain things that Natasha felt she needed a break from it. Today was one of those days.Paul arched a brow. “Alyssa? Isn’t she your best friend?”“Yeah. Yeah, she is.” Natasha bobbed her as she answered. “I just….. she wants to drag me to this date with some guy and j honestly don’t want to go.”Something in Paul’s eyes darkened. “Did you tell her you had plans?”“Yes, I did. I have plans with you obviously. In supposed to tutor you,” she rambled. “But she said that’s something I can cancel.”His lips quirked up to a smile. “So, you ran away?”She nodded, fighting t
Natasha’s schedule as a nanny wasn’t as hectic as she expected it to be. It usually started with her waking up very early to prepare the kids for school. She would follow the driver to drop them off at school and afterwards, she would return home to clean their rooms. Then, she would eat her breakfast and wait for them to return while lurking around the kitchen. Once they returned, she would take them upstairs to get their baths and get changed, have lunch and drop them off at their different afternoon sessions. When it was time, she would go get them and they would have dinner, watch television a while, then, go to bed. That was pretty simple, right? So, why was she still finding it difficult? Why was she losing the kids at every give chance? All she had to do was look away for one second and the moment she looked back, they would no longer be there. It didn’t take long for them to wander off whether they were at home or outside. Why was she finding it hard to wake up early enough to
