It was during one of those early breakfasts that Donna's malicious intentions reached a boiling point. As Ethan and Emily took their first bites, a look of disgust crossed Ethan's face. He promptly spat out the food, his eyes watering.

"What's wrong, sweetie?" I asked, concern etched across my face.

Emily chimed in, her voice quivering. "It tastes... weird, Mom. Like it's gone bad."

I blinked in surprise, frowned, and sniffed at the food in his plate. A peculiar scent wafted into my nose and I frowned. I knew that smell. It was Nightshade - this absolutely crazy concoction that did little to nothing against full grown werewolves but was quite potent against little children.

I glanced around the room, and there, across the hall, sat Donna, a small smile playing on her lips. I would bet everything I had that she had something to do with this.

My instincts screamed for confrontation, for justice to be served, for something to be done. But as I met Lin's gaze, I saw the calm determination
