CHAPTER 117

ZYLIAH'S POV

"The baby is sound and healthy. You and your husband have nothing to fear," the doctor assured.

I sat there, not really paying attention to whatever the doctor and Fynn were saying.

Fynn was all big smiles and huge grins, clearly happy that all of this was working in his favor.

"Baby, did you hear the doctor? He said all is fine. We'll welcome our baby girl soon." He didn't care if it was a boy or a girl; he was just happy to be an expectant father.

His father, not so much. But Fynn didn't care. All he could talk about was me and the baby. Only it wasn't going to ever work out between us. Fynn seemed real. Like he'd realized his mistakes and was doing everything, desperately, to make up for it.

But it was too late for him.

"Are you okay? You're not saying anything." His smile dimmed.

I managed a smile and nodded. "Yeah, I'm good. Will you please keep talking to the doctor while I stretch my legs some? I need fresh air."

"Fresh air is good," the doctor agreed.

CHAPTER 116MARTINO'S POV"Yes. The branch in Sydney.""The buyers are very much interested in that one, but they want to be reassured that they'll be getting the original certificate from the owner of Grymtel Tech." The realtor guy who I'd been connected with in Australia informed me."Everything is signed. They'll get the certificate and every other document as soon as I get the alert," I assured."Alright, I'll let them know."The call ended.A big satisfied grin spread across my lips as I dropped the telephone back to its cradle. I stared at the mountain of documents before me.These were the documents for all of Sayge's companies in and out of the country. I would start selling them off one after the other. It was better than trying to head Grymtel as CEO.No, Sayge was smart. That could go south for me. Selling was the best, and holy cow! I knew how much I'd get by selling the entire Grymtel chain.I never realized he even had hotels and clubs. What a business guru; too bad he w

CHAPTER 115VICTORIA'S POVWatching Sabrina's pathetic sobbing session grated on my last nerve. I'd raised her to be strong, and that was all she had been. I'd introduced the idea of her taking Fynn from Zyliah, and I couldn't regret it because at the time, it was the best decision. I wanted a good life for her. One she wouldn't have to suffer. Well, it would seem that had lasted...for six years. Everything had come crumbling, not just on her, but on me too. She'd lost it with Fynn, and I with Anthony. But I was going to ensure we got it right back because we deserved everything. I didn't come this far with my daughter only for us to meet with a bad end.If Anthony wouldn't take me back, I didn't need him. He was no more important to me than Sabrina's biological father had been. But one thing was clear: I wasn't going to be the poor, divorced loser. As for Sabrina, she'd made a choice, and I could only support her. She wanted love. She wanted Fynn. I'd help her get him back into h

CHAPTER 114SABRINA'S POV"That bitch!" I cried bitterly the moment I entered the hotel room my mom and I shared. It was a big room that harbored two beds. She slept in one while I occupied the other. We didn't have any permanent shelter yet. We'd been sleeping in this hotel for the past months, hoping I could change my husband's mind."Who?" My mom raised her head from her phone. The television was airing one of my favorite family sitcoms, but I wasn't in the mood to watch. I was filled with anger. Pain. Sadness."Who else if not the stupid daughter of that man you married?" I grabbed the bottle of whiskey I'd left on the table and took a glass and took them with me to my bed.I poured myself a drink and gulped greedily, needing the sharp kick of alcohol to subdue the many emotions I was feeling."Spit it out, Sabrina. What did she do now?" Mom eyed me coolly. “I thought it was Fynn you went to see?""Yes." Memories of what had happened earlier today flashed into my mind. Tears burne

CHAPTER 113ZYLIAH'S POVThe drive back home was mostly silent. Fynn tried making small talk, but my responses were vague and curt."Why are you moody? Is it because of Sayge?" he asked, suspicion lurking in his tone.I immediately sat up, shaking my head so he wouldn't suspect. "No," I replied with conviction ringing in my voice. "Why would you think that, Fynn? I'm just tired, that's all. I thought you'd understand this."The tension in his shoulders eased. “I'm sorry, baby,” he said, his voice softening. “I just thought for a moment there that you..." He paused and took a deep breath. "You know what? Just forget it. I'm sorry. I trust that you won't hurt me or do anything that'll ruin our marriage. Right?"His eyes searched mine for a beat too long, as if waiting for me to flinch.I gave a small nod. "Right."He reached across for my hand and squeezed affectionately, passing me a charming smile. "You look amazing being pregnant."I forced a thin smile. “Do I?”"Absolutely so," he a

  • Broken Vows: A Billionaire's Secret   Five Months Later...

CHAPTER 112ZYLIAH'S POVMy first glimpse of sunlight in nearly five months came during this supervised trip to the baby store. The freedom was an illusion, of course, but the air outside the car had smelled different. Now, surrounded by tiny, expensive clothes, the reality of my cage felt more suffocating than ever."Zyliah?"I froze. My stomach jumped. I didn't want to believe whose voice I'd heard behind me.No, it couldn't be him. This should not be happening.I didn't turn. I refused to turn. I kept walking, continuing down the aisle I was on.He followed and quickly caught up with me. The moment his hand came on my shoulder, I felt that same jolt of awareness I'd felt those nights… no, don't think of anything, I chided myself. He swerved me to face him. A storm of emotions warred in his expression. "Oh my goodness, baby." He pulled me into a really warm, tight hug.I let myself revel in the warmth, but it was only for a split second before I squirmed out of his grasp. "Let go of
