Gracelyn POV

The forest felt darker tonight. Shadows stretched longer, moving as if they had a life of their own. Even the wind carried a warning, brushing against my skin like icy fingers. I knew instinctively that danger was close.

“Damon…” I whispered, turning to him. His presence was a shield, green eyes alert, muscles coiled like a predator ready to strike.

He stepped closer, hand brushing my back, and I felt it — the bond flaring hotter than ever, pressing us together, fangs grazing faintly, marking. My chest tightened.

“You’re safe with me,” he said, low and possessive. “I see you. All of you. Every curve, every inch… every scar and line. You’re mine. Don’t hide from me, Gracelyn.”

I swallowed hard. I had always been self-conscious about my weight. Society told me curves were too much, that bones were for beauty, meat was wrong. But his words… his eyes… his touch told me otherwise. Bones are for dogs. Meat is for men. And my man… Damon… was hungry for me. Not just my heart, but my body. Every curve, every softness.

I pressed closer to him instinctively, wolf coiling, heat surging. “I… I feel the bond,” I whispered, “but I’m… I’m not…”

“You’re perfect,” Damon growled softly, green eyes blazing. “Perfect to me. And I will make sure no one touches you who isn’t ready to pay for it. You are mine, all of you.”

The calm shattered with the crunch of boots on dry leaves. Viktor. Rogue alpha. Dangerous. His gray eyes glinted like steel as he stepped into the clearing, a cruel smirk on his lips.

“Well, well,” he said smoothly. “The infamous Damon Blackwood and his… plus-sized little mate. Adorable. But easily broken.”

I froze. My stomach churned. My insecurities screamed. But Damon’s hands were on my waist in an instant, possessive, firm. “She’s mine,” he growled, voice low, resonant with warning. “And the next person who calls her little or weak will regret it.”

Viktor laughed, a sharp, cold sound. “Weak? I’ve faced stronger alphas than you. She won’t matter.”

“She already matters,” Damon snapped, claws flexing, wolf growling beneath his skin. “And every inch of her is mine. Bones are for dogs. Meat is for men. And she’s mine. Do you understand?”

The air seemed to crackle with tension as Viktor’s grin faltered slightly. He hadn’t expected the mate to be more than a distraction—and he hadn’t expected the alpha to see her the way he did.

“You’ll regret underestimating me,” Damon warned. “She’s strong, fierce… and I will protect her with every breath. Every strike. Every inch.”

Viktor lunged. The fight erupted in a blur of motion—claws, teeth, growls, and flashes of green and gray. My wolf surged instinctively. I moved beside Damon, striking, dodging, following the bond’s pull. We moved together, predator and mate, lethal in synchronization.

Every time Viktor glanced at me, I saw his miscalculation. He underestimated not just my body, not just my curves, but the fire within me—and the fire in Damon’s green eyes when he saw me.

Finally, Viktor staggered back, defeated for now, but his threat lingered like smoke. “This isn’t over,” he spat, retreating into the shadows. “Next time… one of you falls.”

Damon immediately pressed me against him, hands firm and protective, wolf coiling, fangs grazing my neck lightly, marking. “You are mine,” he whispered, voice rough, possessive. “No one touches you. Not him. Not anyone. You are mine… all of you.”

Heat surged, desire and possessiveness tangling with instinct. I rested my head against his chest, feeling the bond flare, feeling his wolf meld with mine. “Together,” I whispered.

“Together,” he agreed, lips brushing my temple, teeth grazing my shoulder, possessive and tender. “And don’t ever doubt… your body, your curves, your strength. I am always hungry for you. All of you.”

For the first time, I let myself feel safe in my body. Protected. Desired. Loved—not for the bones society wanted me to hide, but for the meat, the curves, the soul that Damon craved. And in that moment, I knew: no enemy, no danger, no Viktor, could ever take me from him.

The horn echoed across the valley again.Low. Ancient. A warning.Every wolf in the packhouse went silent.Damon’s entire body went rigid.Only one pack in the northern territories used that horn.Bloodfang.A pack that was supposed to have died out ten years ago during the Rogue Wars.Damon’s jaw tightened.“Stay here,” he told Gracelyn. She shifted their daughter in her arms and gave him a look that clearly said absolutely not.“You know I’m not doing that.”“Gracelyn—”“I’m your Luna,” she cut him off. “If an Alpha is standing at our border, I stand beside you.”Damon stared at her for a long moment. His wolf growled possessively.Mine.Danger.Protect.But Gracelyn lifted her chin stubbornly. Finally Damon sighed.“Fine,” he muttered. “But you stay beside me.”They stepped outside together. The entire pack had gathered in the clearing near the main gate.Warriors lined the perimeter.Beta Rowan stood near the front with Gamma Elias, both already in partial battle stance.Beyond th

The training field behind the packhouse echoed with the sharp clash of wood against wood.Gracelyn spun on the balls of her feet, her braid whipping behind her as she blocked another strike. Sweat dampened the collar of her training shirt, but her grip on the staff remained steady.“Too slow,” she teased, knocking the weapon from her opponent’s hands. The young warrior groaned as the staff hit the dirt.“Luna, that was unfair.”Gracelyn grinned, slightly breathless. “Life’s unfair. An enemy won’t slow down because you’re tired.”Across the field, several pack members chuckled.Gracelyn wiped her forehead with the back of her arm and reached down to help the warrior up.“Again tomorrow,” she said.Behind the training ring, Damon stood watching.Arms crossed.Expression unreadable. But his wolf was very much awake.Mine.His gaze followed every movement of his mate—the strength in her stance, the way confidence now radiated from her in ways it hadn’t months ago.The shy woman who once a

POV: Damon & GracelynDamon POVThe night air felt wrong.I stood on the balcony of the pack house, arms braced against the cold stone railing, staring into the endless stretch of forest that belonged to us. Normally the land hummed with life — wolves patrolling, animals moving through the underbrush, the quiet rhythm of a territory at peace.Tonight it felt like the forest itself was holding its breath. My wolf paced restlessly beneath my skin.Something was coming.Behind me, I heard the soft creak of the bedroom door.Gracelyn.Even without turning, I knew it was her. The scent of wild honey and rain drifted through the air, calming the restless edge inside me.“You should be sleeping,” she said softly.I turned then.Moonlight spilled across her curves, illuminating the strong, beautiful woman standing in the doorway. Our newborn rested against her chest, wrapped in a soft blanket. The baby stirred slightly, tiny fingers curling against her shirt. The sight of them hit me like a p

Damon POVThe forest smelled of smoke and iron. My wolf roared beneath my skin, coiling tight and ready, every sense on alert. Viktor had sent scouts — small, silent shadows moving through our territory, testing the boundaries, assessing our strength. They didn’t know what they were about to face.I stood beside Gracelyn in the heart of the pack house, eyes scanning the treeline. She held the baby close, the golden thread pulsing faintly around us, alive and responsive to every motion. Even at such a young age, our child’s presence was shifting the energy of the land, stirring the pack’s instincts and awareness.“They’re moving faster than I expected,” I murmured, jaw tight. “Viktor wants to see us react. He wants a weakness.”Gracelyn’s gaze was steady, fierce. “Then we give him none,” she said. “This family… our bond… it’s stronger than anything he’s ever faced. And he’s about to learn that.”I nodded, feeling the surge of protective instinct rise like wildfire. “Then we prepare. Ev

Damon POVThe forest smelled of smoke and tension. My wolf was coiled tight, every sense screaming danger. Viktor had learned about the baby. That alone guaranteed he was plotting. I could feel it — the subtle vibrations of someone testing, probing, calculating our weaknesses.I paced through the pack house, the newborn cradled in Gracelyn’s arms. The child’s energy pulsed faintly, a soft glow beneath the skin, responding to our presence. Every movement, every thought, every heartbeat seemed to radiate through the golden thread linking the three of us.“Our enemies won’t wait long,” I said, voice low. “Viktor will strike at the first sign of weakness. He sees the child as leverage… or a weapon.”Gracelyn didn’t flinch. She shifted the baby slightly, letting the small body press against her chest, golden thread humming stronger in response. “Let him try,” she whispered. “We’ve survived worse. The pack is united, and this child… they are ours. And they will be protected.”I stepped clos

  • Broken alpha with his saving grace mate    Chapter 31 – Shadows Stir

Damon POVThe forest was unnaturally quiet, the kind of silence that sets my wolf on edge. I could feel it — subtle vibrations through the land, faint but deliberate, like a warning whispered through the trees. Our rivals were testing us, poking at the edges of our territory, curious about the newborn that had already shifted the balance of power.Viktor’s name burned in my mind like acid. He would see the child not as a blessing, but as leverage, a threat, a weapon against me. And I would not allow it.I strode through the training yard, senses heightened, every shadow, every rustle, every distant sound cataloged and assessed. My wolf coiled within, hungry, protective. I saw the Betas and Gammas moving in silent coordination, each aware of my presence, waiting for command without hesitation. And there she was — Gracelyn, standing tall with our child cradled in her arms, golden thread pulsing faintly around her. Even now, she radiated authority, calm and unwavering. She had grown into
