Author’s POV –

“Mom, you don’t have to stress yourself. Mason is much better now. He can go home,” Elsa assured, her voice sugarcoated with affection as she stood beside Alpha Mason’s hospital bed.

“Yes, Elsa’s right. I can go home,” Mason echoed, trying to hide the tiredness in his voice as his wolf howled in anger inside of him.

The walls of the infirmary stifled him—too sterile, too human. He needed to breathe Pack air again.

Mrs. Kings reached out, gently caressing Elsa’s cheek. “I know you’re the one who’s been taking care of him. You’re definitely a good girlfriend,” she said with a warm smile that made Elsa blush.

“Anyway, I have to go now. Duty calls,” Luna Isabella Kings added, leaning down to place a kiss on her son’s cheek. “I’ll see you at home.”

With that, she turned and glided out of the hospital room, her Alpha presence trailing behind like perfume.

“I’ll go talk to the doctor about your discharge,” Elsa said, beginning to turn away.
