Chapter 1

Author: Unbridled Wild Dog
There was only darkness as I felt suffocated as pangs of pain assaulted my heart. It turned out that Mona Sachman was the one who instigated my wife to torture me and, when Mona started wooing me, I would agree to fake my death just to be with her and give up everything I had.

This woman, who claimed she wanted to marry me, was planning to bury me alive and marry Hudson Langdon instead. However, she did not count on me regaining consciousness early without any food or water inside the coffin.

I could hardly breathe inside the cramped and narrow coffin, but Mona's muffled voice could be heard through the layer of wooden planks. It seemed like there were nails that kept my coffin tightly shut. "When Hudson's identity as an illegitimate son was exposed back then, his engagement to Sheila Edwards was transferred to his younger brother, Sean, instead.”

"Since Hudson lost the woman he loved, I will help him regain his power and status instead. I promised Hudson that I would always be there for him.”

"As for Sean, I convinced Sheila to torture him physically all these years just to punish him. It would be a form of release for him if he left anyway. I'll make sure that Sean will stay forever inside the beautiful dream I've woven for him, especially since he loves me so much."

The person with her hesitated slightly before saying, "But Sean Langdon doesn't know that faking his death means being really buried. It's too much of a risk to bury someone alive for seven full days. Moreover, Mr. Langdon is afraid of the dark and claustrophobic. If anything happens to him in that coffin…"

"Nothing will happen to him!" Mona was confident about this. "The Langdons are very detailed when dealing with things. They would have made sure everything was done well. It's only seven days. What could happen when the period of time he is fully conscious is only two days? Besides, Sheila promised me that she would lock him up inside the closet every time she was done beating him. He should be used to it by now.”

"Hudson waited five years for this chance. We have to make sure nothing will go wrong. Once everything is settled and I've married Hudson, we'll fake a marriage license overseas to trick Sean into thinking we're married. I'll make sure he lives a life free of financial worry overseas so that he'll never return again."

I used every ounce of energy I could muster, but could not make a sound. All I could do was hear their footsteps get further and further away.

The suspended animation drug I used to fake my death rendered me motionless and unable to speak, but my mind remained exceptionally clear. My claustrophobia was triggered, and I bit my tongue to force myself to calm down. My back was drenched in cold sweat.

It was particularly dark inside the coffin, and it made me think back on the five years I was married to Sheila. Every time she tortured me, she would lock me inside the closet. The painful memories washed over me instantly, and I could feel my stomach cramping.

Two years ago, Mona saved me when Sheila locked me up inside the closet after one particularly harsh beating. I thought I was looking at an angel the moment Mona opened the closet doors. Her appearance cleared the dark clouds hovering over my life.

Since then, Mona courted me fervently. She took care of my wounded body and comforted my broken heart. She was also the one who gave me the courage to stand up to Sheila's torture. What a joke it was that I had thought I had met my savior. I had no idea that Mona was the one behind my torture.

She instigated Sheila to hurt me while pretending to treat my wounds. All this for the sake of my brother, Hudson.

I bit my lips in an attempt to get my body to react to the pain. That was when I heard the door open outside. I could hear the sound of leather shoes walking closer and a man talking. It was Hudson's voice.

"Will Sean really be fine being buried underground for seven days, Mona? He's going to be buried today, and it feels too cruel to treat him like this. He's my brother, after all."

I was filled with hope that I might be saved, and I roared helplessly in my heart, "Help! I'm begging you to open the coffin to take a look inside. All it takes is one look to know that I'm awake. I don't want to be buried alive. I don't want to experience the pain of suffocating to death in the dark!"

Hudson laughed and cried at the same time, looking like he had gone crazy. He stared hatefully at Mona and said sharply, "Everyone else can call me ruthless, Mona, but not you. You are the one behind everything, and if it hadn’t been for you, none of this would have happened.”"Do you know? On the day we had sex on Sean's coffin, he was listening to us from inside. He could hear the woman who claimed to love him reveal her disgust for him and listened to how she made love to his brother!"Mona turned pale as she roared painfully, "Shut up! Stop it! I'm begging you! Stop making me more miserable!"I watched this unfold numbly. I felt extremely tired. Why did I have to see this when I had already died? I even hoped that this awful pair, Hudson and Mona, could be together forever because they were made for each other. I didn’t want to see their pretentious act any longer. If souls could die, I would choose death again without hesitation.Mona suddenly turned silent as she stared at t

"I'm guilty! I've committed an unforgivable crime!" Mona hugged her head while kneeling on the floor. She had curled up into a ball and had started retching in pain. "I killed our baby, Sean. I was the one who caused your death! If this world has ghosts, please come and kill me. Take my life! I won't blame you."I burst out laughing. I had become a ghost, but I could not hurt anyone. Otherwise, I would become a malevolent ghost without hesitation. Mona's assistant spoke out carefully at the side, "Miss Sachman, the one who caused Mr. Langdon's death is someone else. I've looked into this, and the only other person who touched the suspended animation drug was Mr. Hudson Langdon. Security footage caught him opening up the coffin on the day Mr. Sean Langdon was buried. He seemed to be speaking to the coffin, and he took all the food you had prepared inside it."Her head jerked up as her blood-red eyes stared toward the distance. There was a sinister tone to her voice, "It was you, Hud

  • Buried Love   Chapter 8

It felt like someone was clutching my heart when I returned to the cemetery again. Even though I was a soul, I felt suffocated with cold sweat pouring down my forehead. Even my soul form started to thin. Being buried alive was the most horrifying form of torture. The cemetery was a mess when my coffin was opened violently. There was excrement everywhere inside my coffin, and the walls were filled with scratch marks. Those marks were traces of my struggle to survive.Mona could only stand and stare at the coffin blankly due to the horrifying sight. What had she done? She could not believe what she was seeing. She had buried Sean alive for seven days! He had nothing to eat or drink, and could only cower inside this small space.Sean was scared of the dark and suffered from claustrophobia. How desperate must he have been in there? He tried so hard to get out of the coffin alive, and all ten of his fingers had twisted in his attempts to open the coffin. Mona's eyes suddenly widened as

Not long after, the Sachmans' security personnel rushed over to hold Sheila down and take her away. Mona's face was covered in bruises, but she was unperturbed. All she did was stumble toward my body and hug it tight while mumbling to herself."Sean can't be dead. Doctor! Get a doctor here. Why hasn't the suspended animation drug ceased its effect?!"While waiting for the doctor, Hudson carefully leaned in close to Mona and said softly to her, "Mona, Sean's dead. I'm upset about it too. We should have dug him out sooner, but it's too late. We should be looking toward the future. This only makes our plan even better because dead people can't talk.”"We should shut Sheila up if we want to keep this news from spreading to the Langdons. We need to make it look like Sheila has gone crazy from missing her husband so much that she dug up his grave. If my dad finds out about this, I'd be finished. Mona, you promised to do anything for me. You'll protect me, right?"Mona's eyes looked blank

There was commotion among the wedding guests."Has Sheila Edwards gone crazy? Why would she dig his corpse out when he's already dead? That's bad luck!""She was beating him up every day while he was still alive. Was he beaten to death by her?""Did that man just say that Sean Langdon is dead? What does he mean? Was Sean Langdon alive when he was buried?"The guests started discussing this unforeseen event. Mona was momentarily stunned, but quickly said with a frown, "What are you talking about? Sean Langdon is already dead!"I sneered. Mona was still putting up an act at a time like this. If the truth were exposed, Hudson would lose his place as the heir. The man who barged in tried to catch his breath as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. "It's true! I saw Sheila Edwards dig Mr. Langdon out of his grave. His body has rotted. You should see it for yourself!"Mona panicked as she started muttering to herself, "Impossible. I already…"She calmed herself down and was about to h

  • Buried Love   Chapter 5

I had no idea how many days and nights I was inside the coffin. I was so ravenous that I chewed on wood. I scratched the insides of the coffin crazily in an attempt to open it, and all ten of my fingernails eventually fell off.My excrement was everywhere, and the thin air inside mingled with the horrible stench. I had no idea how many days had passed when I finally died in pain. My soul left my body and flew toward the surface.I thought I was about to be free, but I was forcefully pulled to Mona's side. I watched coldly as Mona helped Hudson pick out his suit. "Our wedding will be in two more days, Hudson. I really want Sean to witness our wedding. What a pity…"Mona had her arms around Hudson when she frowned and said, "It's about time Sean wakes up. I wonder if there's enough food for him. Will he be scared…"Hudson's expression changed when he heard her words. He clenched his teeth, but later resumed smiling as he said brightly, "I didn't expect Sheila to be smart enough to su
