Seraphina's POV

The rhythmic click of my stilettos echoed through the grand hall as I ascended the stairs, each step carrying me closer to my destiny. Today would be etched into history—the day I finally claimed the mate the Moon Goddess had chosen for me.

And there he stood.

Darius Harlow—heir to the Blue Ridge Pack, my childhood friend, my first love, and soon, my eternal mate. Dressed in a black tuxedo that hugged his powerful frame, he watched me with an intensity that stole my breath. His emerald-green eyes, the most mesmerizing shade I'd ever seen, locked onto mine, unblinking.

A rush of warmth spread through my chest. After ten years of sacrifices—pouring my wealth, strength, and soul into securing his place as heir—this moment made every struggle worth it.

As I reached for his outstretched hand, a jolt of electricity surged through my fingertips, racing straight to my heart. The mate bond flared to life between us, fierce and undeniable.

He's mine.

And I'm his.

Finally.

"You're stunning," Darius murmured, his lips curling into that familiar, mischievous smirk. Heat flooded my cheeks, and I bit back a giddy laugh.

The ceremony was nothing short of extravagant. Pack members from both territories filled the hall, their cheers vibrating through the air. My parents, Alpha Bastian and Luna Athena, stood proudly beside Darius's parents, Alpha Julian and Luna Soraya. Their approving gazes only deepened the joy swelling inside me.

Elder Delon Rahen of the Blue Ridge Pack stepped forward, his voice resonating through the sacred space.

"Under the moonlight, before the spirits of our ancestors, and by the blood of your pack—do you, Darius Harlow, choose this woman as your Luna, your soulbound mate, and the guardian of your power?"

Darius never looked away from me. His grip on my hand tightened as he answered, voice rough with emotion.

"With my blood, my soul, and my body—I choose her. Today and forever."

Tears pricked my eyes, threatening to spill over.

Then the Elder turned to me.

"And you, Seraphina Luminara—do you accept this bond? Will you stand as his mate and protector of the pack he leads?"

I inhaled deeply, my heart pounding in sync with Darius's.

"With all my heart, I accept. I will be his mate, his strength, and his sanctuary."

The hall erupted in cheers, but all I heard was the steady rhythm of Darius's heartbeat—and his whisper, meant only for me.

"From this moment on, you are my true mate. You are my home."

Then his lips met mine, sealing our bond in front of the world. A single tear slipped free as warmth flooded my chest.

I was no longer just Seraphina Luminara.

I was Luna of the Blue Ridge Pack.

The rightful mate of Alpha Darius Harlow.

Joy overflowed in my heart when we returned to our wedding room after the ceremony was over. The wedding suite was a dream—bathed in candlelight, the bed strewn with crimson rose petals. The sweet floral scent was nothing compared to the intoxicating cedar-and-spice aroma that clung to Darius, making my head spin.

'I can't wait any longer, Sera,' Lily, my wolf, purred in my mind. 'He's ours now.'

I sat on the edge of the bed, pulse racing as Darius locked the door behind us. The silence was deafening, my nerves alight with anticipation.

"Hey." His voice was soft as he sat beside me, tilting my chin up. "Nervous?"

I shook my head, though my traitorous heartbeat betrayed me. "Just… adjusting. We were friends for so long, and now—"

"Now we're mates." His thumb brushed my lower lip, sending a shiver down my spine.

He leaned in, inhaling deeply. "Vanilla and milk," he murmured. "Your true scent."

I laughed, breathless. "And you smell like—"

Before I could finish, he pressed a teasing kiss to my cheek.

"Thief!" I swatted his chest, giggling as he caught my wrist and pulled me down onto the bed with him.

For a moment, everything was perfect.

Then, he was somehow already on top of me—our gaze locked, and a strong urge to have him completely pulled at my soul. Our breaths quickened, and I closed my eyes as Darius moved his head forward.

However—

A sharp sting pierced my neck.

I gasped, jerking back. My fingers flew to the spot, pulling out a syringe.

Purplish-green liquid glistened in the dim light.

Wolf's bane.

My blood turned to ice.

"D-Darius?" My voice trembled.

His smile twisted into something cold—something cruel.

"You owe me a life," he hissed.

The poison hit like a blade to the gut. Fire erupted through my veins, seizing my muscles, locking my limbs. A scream tore from my throat as my wolf howled in agony inside me.

Why? Why would our mate do this?

I collapsed to the floor, writhing. Tears blurred my vision, but I still saw him—looming over me, his face a mask of hatred.

"Y-you'll regret this," I choked out. "M-my father will—"

"Your father is weak," Darius snarled. "And so are you."

The acrid stench of gasoline filled the air. I watched in horror as he drenched the room, the liquid soaking into my wedding gown.

No. No, no, NO—

"P-please…" I begged, my voice barely a whisper.

He crouched beside me, gripping my hair, forcing me to meet his merciless gaze.

"This is for Vesper."

The name was a dagger to my heart.

Vesper Eclipse—his mistress. The woman who'd died in a plane crash three months ago.

The woman he'd never stopped loving.

A match flickered in his hand.

"Burn in hell, Seraphina."

Then he dropped it.

Flames roared to life, swallowing the room, the heat searing my skin. My wolf's cries echoed in my skull, but worse than the pain was the betrayal.

Ten years of love.

Ten years of loyalty.

All ending in fire and blood.

As the smoke choked my lungs, one thought consumed me:

If I survive this… I'll make him pay.

SERAPHINAHowling Moon. The two of us returned to this place, where I first met my husband—a handsome and powerful Alpha who ruled over all of North America—a man named Kaelos Harrington. That day was the day I became a crazy woman who seduced a man first. After experiencing the tragic death that Darius inflicted on me, I chose to become a crazy woman who had no fear whatsoever—ever since that incident.Howling Moon, this place became a silent witness to how I met my husband. After getting out of the car, Kaelos took my hand protectively. Even though we had been living together for almost seventeen years, my love for him never diminished—on the contrary, it grew stronger every day.We walked together towards the building—the beat of the music accompanied our steps, welcoming our arrival. This place hadn't changed much since the last time we were here, only more modern.Kaelos invited me to sit on a long sofa in the corner of the room, and I accepted with a smile. Kaelos sat down next

SERAPHINAThree months before the Grand Council Meeting, Kaelos and I decided to hold a mock Council Meeting—a complete simulation with all the senior members of the Nightveil Pack acting as representatives of various Packs. We set up the Main Council Chamber exactly as it would be for the real meeting. Alaric sat at the center podium, with Celine beside him as chief advisor. Kaelos and I sat in the back row, observing but not intervening.Beta Archer acted as the Alpha of the Western Mountain Pack—friendly but demanding. Gamma Silas played the Alpha of the Southwestern Desert Pack—skeptical and challenging. Elder Marcus took on the role of European Council representative—formal and traditional.Sophia, Alaric's nanny since childhood, even participated, acting as Luna of the Eastern Coastal Pack, who was very concerned about social issues.“The Council is now in session,” Alaric announced, his voice clear and authoritative. “Thank you all for coming. Today's agenda includes discussion

KAELOS“Again!” I commanded, my voice loud but not harsh.Alaric—who was already sweaty and breathing heavily—got up from the ground for the tenth time. We had been practicing combat for almost three hours, and I hadn't held back at all.“Papa,” Alaric gasped. “I... I can't do this anymore.”“When you become an Alpha,” I said firmly, “your enemies won't care if you're tired. They won't care if you're not at your best. They'll attack with full force, and you have to be ready.”Alaric wiped his face, covered in sweat and dirt, then took up his fighting stance again.“Okay,” he said with determination. “Again.”We fought again—I attacked with complex combinations, testing his reflexes and defense. Alaric defended well, blocking most of my attacks. But then I used a fake move—pretending to attack from the left but actually coming from the right.Alaric fell again, but this time he immediately rolled and got up in one smooth motion.“Good!” I praised him. “You're learning. Now, attack me.”

SERAPHINAThree months had passed since the leadership transition announcement, and the change was remarkable. Every morning, I woke up no longer with a packed Council meeting agenda or crises to deal with immediately. Instead, I woke up peacefully, enjoying my morning coffee with Kaelos while watching Alaric and Celine begin their leadership routines. This morning, I stood on our balcony, watching Alaric lead the morning briefing with Beta Archer and the security team. Even from a distance, I could see how the senior warriors listened with respect—no longer viewing him as “Young Master” but as their future Alpha.“He's growing up so fast,” Kaelos said, joining me with two cups of hot tea.“Too fast,” I agreed with a slightly sad smile. “It feels like just yesterday he was learning to walk, and now he's leading security briefings.”Kaelos wrapped his arms around me from behind, his chin resting on my shoulder.“Do you miss the days when they were little?” he asked softly.“Every day,”

KAELOSI got up and walked towards my son, kneeling in front of him so we were at eye level.“Alaric,” I said firmly but lovingly. “When I took over leadership of the Pack at twenty-one, I was far less prepared than you are now. I lost my parents, I had no mentor, and I had to learn while facing threats from all sides.”I placed my hand on his broad shoulder."But you're different. You have Mama and Papa to guide you. You have Celine, who will always give you brilliant perspective. You have Beta Archer and all the loyal senior warriors. And most importantly—you have a good heart, Alaric. You care about your Pack, you are fair, and you are brave. That's all it takes to be a great Alpha."His amber eyes—so similar to mine—began to glisten.“I'll try my best, Papa,” he said, his voice trembling. “I won't disappoint you.”“You will never disappoint us,” Seraphina said, stroking Alaric's hair affectionately. “Because you are our son, and we are proud of you, no matter what happens.”Celine

KAELOSTime passed quickly without me realizing it. I lived a happy life with my small family. My wife, my two children, we lived a full and happy life; not a single day went by without smiles, jokes, and laughter. That morning, I stood on the balcony of my private study, looking out at the Nightveil Pack's training ground, which was bustling with activity. In the middle of the field, Alaric—my son, now fifteen years old—was leading a combat training session with dozens of young warriors. His movements were precise, his voice firm but not harsh, and most surprisingly, all the warriors followed his instructions without hesitation.“He's amazing, isn't he?” Seraphina's voice flowed warmly into my ear.I turned and saw my wife standing in the doorway, carrying two cups of coffee. Even after seventeen years together, she still made my heart flutter.“Absolutely amazing,” I agreed, taking a cup from her.
