Chapter 3

Author: Perfect Timing
"You diagnosed me with a potential miscarriage based on my looks alone. What? Do you have X-ray vision or something?"

Dr. Stevens straightened her white coat. "I've seen plenty of cases like yours. I can tell from experience."

I laughed out loud. "So the doctors at this hospital diagnose patients without doing any examinations? Just experience?"

I turned to the people behind me. "You all hear that? This hospital's unprofessional. Do you really want her treating you? Watch her turn a minor illness into cancer."

Now that their own interests were involved, the people behind me started getting uneasy.

"Yeah, what's going on with this doctor? Why is she making diagnoses without even doing an exam?"

"I'm going to another hospital. I'd feel safer getting tested."

"This doctor looks so young. How much experience could she even have? She's playing with people's lives."

Seeing some people outside already getting up to leave, Dr. Stevens finally started to panic.

"You said it yourself. You have stomach pain and you're bleeding down there. If I send you for tests and wait for results, you could be in life-threatening danger. You're ungrateful, and now you're twisting the truth."

She pointed at the chair I had been sitting on. "Look at your pants. You should get admitted now, or you might lose both mother and child."

I followed her gesture and looked over. My hemorrhoids would not stop bleeding. The pad Tyler gave me was completely soaked and leaking.

I should have just gotten surgery to remove these hemorrhoids when I had the chance.

"What mother and child? I'm a guy. There is no child!"

Frustration boiled inside me with nowhere to go. The problem was that Dr. Stevens was a woman. If I pulled down my pants to prove it, she might just twist things around on me.

"Oh my god, what is that? It's covered in blood!"

A scream came from behind me. I looked down. The pad had slipped down my pants and fallen to the floor.

I was a grown man. I had never used one before and did not know how to put it on properly. I felt like it wasn’t secure while I was in the car, but I never thought it would actually fall off.

Now there was no way I could clear my name.

Sure enough, Dr. Stevens looked smug. "I've never seen a man use a pad. That's quite a lot of bleeding. Looks like you're dead set on not keeping this baby."

"Oh dear, young lady, you need to lie down. Heavy bleeding is no joke."

"This is terrible. With that much blood, the baby's definitely gone."

"Don't be scared. When I was pregnant with my first, I bled too. You'll be okay."

A few kind women rushed over to help me sit down. I was touched by their concern, but I still wanted to tell them this was really just my hemorrhoids.

"I'm looking out for your health. Instead of wasting time complaining, you should get admitted. The baby in your belly is a life too."

There was life in my belly, all right. The chicken wings and fries I ate earlier.

Just then, Tyler finally came back with a supervisor.

"Dr. Lloyd, this patient is potentially going to miscarry but refuses to admit it. I apologize for the trouble." Seeing the supervisor, Dr. Stevens lost her earlier sense of arrogance and quickly explained.

"He isn't even pregnant! Stop spouting nonsense!" Tyler was furious.

Dr. Lloyd glanced at me, then listened as Dr. Stevens described the entire situation.

"Miss, Dr. Stevens is an upright person with a compassionate heart. Your symptoms really do resemble a potential miscarriage.”

"If we send you for tests before admitting you, you could be in life-threatening danger. So you should get admitted to preserve the child first. If you really aren't pregnant, the tests will show that anyway."

I waited until my hemorrhoids surgery was finished before finally posting all the evidence I had gathered online and starting a livestream.I had become quite the celebrity during this time. The moment I went live, a flood of people poured into the stream."Hey everyone. I just got out of hemorrhoids surgery, so I'm wearing a hospital gown. I've still got the hemorrhoids they cut out right here. Want to see it?"The hemorrhoids that had been tormenting me for months had been removed by the doctor. It was supposed to be thrown out as medical waste, but I asked the doctor to save it. I still had a use for it.I held up the bag and waved it in front of the camera. The viewers thought I was putting on an act. The chat was filled with nothing but strings of censored curse words. You could tell how nasty the comments were. However, I did not care one bit. I displayed my medical records directly. "I know you won't believe anything I say, but don't let someone with ulterior motives manipu

The whole ordeal finally came to an end, and the crowd of onlookers dispersed.I went to the men's exam room across the hall first and got my physical done. Then I went upstairs to see a doctor about my hemorrhoids. The doctor prescribed me some anti-inflammatory medication and scheduled a time for me to get the surgery done to eliminate the problem once and for all.Tyler drove me home. The moment I walked through the door, my mom rushed over with her phone."Is this you?"I looked at the screen. It turned out someone had filmed what had happened at the hospital today and posted it online. It was right at the moment when Dr. Stevens had ripped my shirt. The comment section was full of people complimenting my physique."I ran into a psycho at the hospital today, but it's all sorted out now. It’s nothing to worry about."Mom took a swipe at me. "I told you to cut your hair, but you wouldn't listen. Now just look at the mess you've caused."This whole mess made me realize how qui

I put on a confused expression and grabbed the female doctor's arm. "Yeah, doctor, where's my baby? Dr. Stevens said I'm three months pregnant. You didn't make my baby disappear, did you?"The female doctor was about to lose her mind. "Do you not know whether you're a man or a woman? You're a guy. Where would you get a baby?""Who says men can't have babies?" I pulled out the ultrasound report. "I'm three months pregnant. Your hospital made my baby disappear. Give me back my baby."Seeing me being so unreasonable, the female doctor was at a loss. She glared at Dr. Stevens. "Look at what you've done!"Dr. Stevens's mind was in complete chaos right now. She had no idea what to do and could only act on instinct, lunging forward to try and snatch the ultrasound report from my hands."It's a misunderstanding! This is all a misunderstanding!"I stepped out of the way and put the ultrasound report away safely. "This is proof of my pregnancy. I never thought the day would come when I, a

Inside, a female doctor was preparing for the day. I sighed. "Um, is there any chance I could get a male doctor to do my exam?"This was the first time the doctor had encountered such a request. Most patients who came to the hospital preferred a doctor of the same gender to avoid awkwardness. This was the first time someone had requested the opposite. The female doctor paused. "None of the male doctors in our department are working today. We only have female doctors on duty. The men's exam area also has female doctors.""Why are you being so picky? To a doctor, there's no gender. You're all just bodies." Dr. Stevens rolled her eyes, then turned to the female doctor. "Make sure you take precautions. This woman's pregnant and doesn't even know who the father is."Being colleagues, the female doctor trusted her instinctively. Her expression toward me changed. "Alright. Got it."She put on her gloves while saying to me, "Go lie down on the bed and take off your pants."I did as I was

After hanging up, I patted Tyler on the shoulder. "I'm sorry, babe. I've been lying to you. I've actually been seeing someone else behind your back."Tyler instantly jumped three feet in the air. "You, you, you... what the hell are you saying, you b*stard!"He looked shocked for a few seconds, but after seeing the expression on my face, he caught on."Whatever. I've been lying to you too. I've had a new girlfriend for a while now. Let's just call it quits and move on."Tyler got into character immediately. "This is all my fault. Let's not contact each other anymore. My wife would be pissed."He turned and walked away, looking exactly like an irresponsible scumbag.Everyone was stunned by this sudden turn of events. They thought it was a case of some loose woman tricking an honest guy into taking responsibility, but it turned out it was just two cheaters messing around on the side. What else was there to say? Birds of a feather flock together."Dr. Stevens, I'm so sorry for the

"Holy crap, that's impossible! How can a guy get pregnant?"Tyler blurted this out instinctively and snatched the report from the doctor's hands. My eyes went wide as I muttered under my breath, "Impossible. Absolutely impossible.""What's there to argue about? See for yourself. The baby's three months along. You can already see its shape clearly. What an adorable little thing." Dr. Stevens pointed at the ultrasound image on the report, barely concealing her glee."The test results are right here. You can't deny it now.""Three months pregnant and she's only just finding out? This mother-to-be sure has nerves of steel.""It's right there in black and white. What else is there to check?"I stared at the words on the page, my mind completely scrambled. To make matters worse, Tyler was making things worse beside me."Bro, my girlfriend was reading this novel a while back where guys could get pregnant. You're not, like, intersex or something, are you?"I was so pissed I elbowed hi
