Lyra's POV

I raced on the stairs and I didn't freaking care whether that bastard heard us or not. That's not my damn concern.

Accidentally, I crashed with his evil mother and I took a nervous pause. “What! Are you blind! Has your frustrated life mixed up with your sense of reasoning all of a sudden,” her voice rang with coldness.

“Gosh!” I exclaimed and walked away from her without a word.

“Hey! Stop there, thief! I hope you have stolen anything from my son's belongings? Because I don't trust you, that's why I had opposed the opportunity he gave you earlier, but I don't know what's wrong with my son,” as those left her mouth, I didn't know how my legs stopped moving as it was commanded to do so.

I spun my head around, and my eyes clung to her, analysing her reaction. My eyelids came swiftly all over her body and my mood sharply veered to anger.

“Who the heck are you referring to you murderer?!” my tone was unapologetic and like a porch on her face. I didn't need anyone to tell me tha

Caleb's POV Astonishment touched my pale face, and I stood there more surprised than ever. I merely stared, tongue-tied and speechless.I glanced up at him once again and jumped just at the sound of his voice. What! He's the one? Or just maybe they're twins? Why's he freaking pretending as though he doesn't know me?“Come in and welcome to Spintex Restaurant,” he announced to us with an infectious smile on his face.My body stiffened in shock and my words wedged in my throat. I was more frightened than surprised at this moment but he was smiling without blinking an eye.“Let's go, baby,” Pearl's voice startled me instantly, and I was suddenly awake.“Umm…sure…I…,” At this point, I didn't know what I was saying anymore, and this gentleman was standing rooted to the ground without a word to me.I mean I can't mistake him for anyone else at all. Moreover, he's not a twin, and even if he's, I'm pretty sure this is the Derrick I know. He's now a security guard in this restaurant. Is this

Caleb's POV“I hope you have witnessed it yourself now right? It wasn't necessary to allow her into this house. What the heck is even wrong with you? Such disrespect from a pauper like her? Hell no!” my mom barked as I crawled from the stairs with my mind racing dangerously.I can't seem to understand my ex-wife's relationship with Pearl, but it seems they're familiar with each other. Probably, I'm not the only one in the dark and the fears in Pearl's eyes when I barged in confirm everything to me.After all, I'm not hallucinating or being crazy. As my mind was a crazy mixture of thoughts, I felt a hand resting on my hunched shoulders, and chills went down my spine.“Baby,” she muttered under her breath and planted a kiss on my neck.“Are you okay? I mean, you seemed disorganised,” she added, and I definitely understood what she was referring to.“I am? Yeah…I mean, I'm great,” my voice stuttered, and I didn't know why.“Really?” She asked and her brows furrowed slightly as I rotated

Lyra's POV There was a bitter and hoarse smile that tugged on my lips and I stomped on the staircase straight to my bed.Meanwhile, my fingers trembled as I opened the note, even though I was looking elsewhere. My blood was boiling with rage and my heart was filled with emotions. As I banged my door behind me, I paused instantly as I caught a glimpse of a name on the note that sent cold shivers down my spine.Tate Shark? Who the heck is this?!My eyes grew open, amused, and I spoke in jesting equips. I stood keenly as I stared, baffled.“For two years now you have remained fixed on my mind. No matter how hard I try to get you off it, it seems like a dream that will never come true and I want to have you now to myself. I love you Lyra,” the content of the message reads.Instantly, chills went down my spine and I ran my hand through my hair. I was startled, and the heavy lashes that shadowed my cheeks flew away.I was tongue-tied and shaken. For a moment, my mind was oozing with thoug

Lyra's POV I swallowed hard as I tried not to reveal my anger and the fueling rage in me was intensifying. “Ooh, he did that? He divorced his wife just to be with my step sister. Which normal being in his right senses will do that to a woman he has exchanged vows with?” I threw a question at him like stones.“It's something else, Miss Jenkins. Some men don't deserve good women, and I'm sure he's one of them because Pearl is definitely not any better than his ex-wife. Even though I don't know her, I know Pearl pretty well. Money is her love language and the moment that varnishes, she's also gone. That's the reason she's threatening her husband for a divorce currently,” Marc revealed as I still stood in front of the window.Hmm!Everything is glaring at me and I don't need to spill much anymore to Zane. When did this interview take place without my notice? He introduced her as his wife-to-be at one of his recent interviews. How didn't I get this headline all this while?I mean, what ki

Lyra's POV “This is definitely going to work just the way I want it!” A whisper in my head told me.“I hope your ex-wife won't hurt me whatsoever?” Pearl uttered as her gaze travelled.“Not at all she's not going to waste time. But if you're delaying, I will check up on you,” he said.“Not even a peck for me,” She said and before he planted that peck on her forehead, he looked at me intensely. Then she took the lead as we climbed the stairs upstairs. Then, we swung the door open, and we strolled in, but there was still a deafening silence between us.As planned I went straight to the business that brought me. The moment I bent to open the down drawer. Her voice echoed in my ears and startled me. “Lyra! What the heck are you up to? What's even your problem?!”“What's the meaning of that nonsense you spilt out there, Lyra? Where did you get that information from in the first place?” Pearl asked me numerous questions at the same time.Meanwhile, I laughed softly as I pretended like she
