Chapter Seventeen: She Fights Back Now

The rest of the day is uneventful. However, Carley hasn’t come out to the cars yet. We are waiting to give her a ride, something is wrong.

Jase nods to me and Lachlan so we make our way to the nearest girls' restroom, the one Carley would have gone into after leaving her backpack with Arson. We knock on the door, but there is no answer, so we try to open it, but something is blocking the door.

Then we hear this tribal yell, and the door falls open to Carley banging some girl’s head into the sink. Another one tackles her back, punching her in the face but Lachlan and I watch with fascination as Carley flips the girl, she is now on top of. Her fists are flying into the girl’s face. The girl starts crying and begging.

"She’s had enough, baby girl,” I say in a booming voice.
