Ivory's pov

A flicker of hope ignited within me the moment my eyes jolted awake, my heart racing, as I turned quickly, checking the empty space beside me. He was gone. Tristan. A long, shuddering breath escaped my lips.

Today was the day, I'd be free from this cold hearted ruthless Tristan. Free from a life I never asked for, a marriage I couldn't bear. I knew I hadn't lived a happy life, I had lived in shadows for long. After I escaped, I'd find happiness, Even if it was just a tiny bit.

I pushed myself up. My legs felt shaky but ready. I took A quick bath, and I dressed up.

Hours crawled by, as I sank onto the couch. My whole body felt like a live wire, my body buzzing with anxiety. My Palms were drenched with sweat. What if this all goes wrong? What if the guards out there see right through me?

I ran through my plan again, thinking of a Another way out? "No." I mumbled to myself. This was it, The only shot. I had to make it work.

I'd spent weeks here, checking every nook and cr

Tristan's POV I walked in after a long day at the office and found Ivory in the living room, curled up on the couch, lost in sleep. A rush of concern washed over me as I moved closer, gently calling her name. "Ivory, Ivory, wake up." It took a few tries, but finally, her eyes fluttered open."You're back!" she exclaimed, surprise lighting up her face."Yes," I replied, glancing at the time. Did she really think I'd stay at the office all night?"It's late," she said, quickly sitting up on the couch."Careful Ivory!" I warned, as she almost stumbled."I was cleaning and organizing the house," she explained, rubbing her eyes. "I got tired and thought I'd rest a bit before dinner.""You don't need to worry about that," I reassured her. "I ordered us a chef for tonight," I said and I saw relief wash over her face."Let's go get ready," I said, scooping her up in my arms and heading toward the room. After a while, I received a call from my men. The chef had arrived. "Ivory, are you ready?

  • CAGED BY HIM   Chapter Seventy-Nine

Tristan's POVWhen Dr. Clarke told us that Ivory was pregnant, I was in disbelief. Just a month before, the doctor had said her chances of conceiving again were slim, and I had almost lost hope of ever having a child. But after hearing that news, I felt like the happiest man alive. This news sparked a flurry of thoughts. A new place seemed like the best choice for Ivory and our baby. A fresh start in a new home. I had several buildings we could move into any of them, and I could even buy her a new house if none of those felt right. This morning, I gently woke Ivory from her deep sleep. Thankfully, she wasn't experiencing the morning sickness she had during the first pregnancy. Instead, she was just always tired and easily fatigued. I preferred this to the nausea; it was hard watching her throw up her gut and feeling powerless."Tristan, are we there yet?" she asked, rubbing her eyes."Soon, baby," I replied. After a while, we finally reached one of the buildings."We're here," I anno

Ivory's POVWe're in the car, heading to the hospital, and my nerves are on edge. Sweat trickles down my palms as I grip my dress tightly. Anxiety wraps around me. Finally, we arrive. Tristan steps out and rushes to my side to help me out of the car."Ivory, are you okay?" he asks, sensing my tension."Yeah," I reply, forcing a smile that doesn't quite reach my eyes, my heart racing. "I promise, no matter what the result is, I'll always stand by you. I promise," he reassures me. I nod, grateful for his support, and manage another smile. As we walk into the hospital together, he doesn't let go of my hand. We soon find ourselves in Dr. Clarke's office."Good to see you again, Mr. and Mrs. Black," she greets us warmly. Tristan helps me sit before settling down beside me."It's nice to have you here again. How are you and the baby doing, Mrs. Black? You haven't been coming for check-ups lately," she asks, her eyes focused on me. And I felt my throat tighten at her question, and I struggl

  • CAGED BY HIM   Chapter Seventy-Seven

Tristan's POVI was racing home, expecting today's meeting to be a quick one. I wanted to spend quality time with Ivory, but the meeting dragged on longer than I anticipated. I pushed the gas pedal, hoping we could still make it out for dinner. When I finally arrived, I hopped out of the car. My men greeted me respectfully, and I nodded back at them in response. I stepped inside the house, but Ivory was nowhere in the living room. Maybe she was in our bedroom. As I entered, I found her on the bed, engrossed in a book. Her face showed frustration and boredom. "Hey, baby," I called, walking toward her. She looked up briefly and said, "Welcome," her tone flat, before returning her attention back to the book."Is that a proper way to welcome your husband? I asked, settling behind her and pulling her closer. "Baby, are you still angry with me?" I added, but she didn't answer. I sighed, feeling the weight of her silence. "Ivory, is there anything you want that I couldn't give you? Just n

Ivory's POV"Ivory, I really have to leave soon," Stella said. She had shown up at the house early this morning. When the guards had informed us about her presence, Tristan started growing worried. I would make sure to stay alert, and tell the men to stay on guard too, just in case something seemed off. I blushed remembering Tristan's worry this morning "I am scared to leave you around anyone other than my family," he had said. He wanted to stay but I had to force him to leave. "Are you sure you have to go now?" I asked."Yeah, I have a date with this hot guy," she replied, her tone flirtatious.I nodded, a small grin spreading across my face.Stella glanced at me, "So, what will you be doing once I'm gone ?" she asked, concern flickering in her eyes.I shrugged, feeling a bit perplexed. "Maybe clean or sit in the garden and feed the fish," I answered. She scoffed, "Is that really how you spend your time?""Yes," I replied "Girllllllllll, do you want to grow old in the house? You n

Tristan's POV "I can stay, you know," I said, glancing at Ivory as she helped me adjust my tie."No, Tristan, go. I'll be fine," she replied, her soft smile trying to ease my worry. I pulled her closer, searching her eyes."Are you sure, baby?""Very sure, Tristan," she reassured me. "If you need anything call me, huh?" I said, and she nodded. "I promise to pick up right away," I added."Okay," she smiled. "I'll ask the guards to check in on you regularly."Her expression turned curious. "Wait, we have new guards now?" she asked, surprised."Yeah, Elijah sent in a new team this morning," I explained. "Don't worry, they're well-trained. Plus, we have a security system now that will alert us if anything goes wrong.""Oh," she said, looking a bit more at ease. I leaned in and planted a kiss on her cheek."Be good for me, baby.""Yeah," she replied, and I deepened the kiss. After a moment, she pulled away. "Tristan, you need to go now.""I love you, baby," I said, feeling the weight
