JACOB I WENT BACK to the university to get my motorbike and drive around the city. I need to know where Violet would be executed. I glanced at my side mirror, feeling as if someone was following me, and indeed, there was. A yellow taxi cab was about 200 meters behind me and I couldn’t recognize the passengers using only my side mirror. Damn it. I turned left at the intersection and the yellow taxi appeared behind not long after. I turned another left at the next corner and a right. Even in tight spaces, the yellow taxi continued to follow me. Don’t tell me…?! I picked up my speed and turned another right and then left until I found an open parking basement. I quickly paid for a ticket and drove down. What I didn’t expect was what I would see once the basement lights met my eyes. On both left and right sides were a total of six black 2021 Mercedes-Benz Metris Passenger Van parked side-by-side. My grip on the handlebars of my motorbike tensed as beads of sweat formed around my neck
HIBARA AFTER MY MOTHER insisted I stay in our residence, I spent my three days of recovery in the library. Since Cara turned my apartment into a ‘Detective Agency’ of some sort, it was actually good staying back here. The only thing I didn’t like was, of course, interacting with my dearest father. I finished quite a lot of mystery books and now, I’m skimming through Dad’s old case files. His recent case files are in his study while the old ones are stacked here in the library which I, sometimes, take a look at for studies. An incident from the year before I was born piqued my interest. I smirked as I read the words written in red ink above the title of the case: Unsolved. “So, you have an unsolved case fifteen years ago, huh?” I grabbed the white folder and sat on the well-lit, giant egg chair in the middle of the round room of books. 【Pre-School Teacher Murder Case】 Several photographs were within the folder. I checked mostly those that are focused on how the victim was found.
HIBARA THE NEWS REGARDING the Ammunition EIC’s death shook up the entire Albertus Magnus University. Although it was reported as a mysterious murder by an unknown gunman at first, it was later reported that the occurrence was an accident caused by a stray bullet. When I heard of that on the television, I couldn’t help but laugh. Violet’s death was a necessary action for the organization; to ensure that the information regarding their criminal business remains out of our reach. As soon as I stepped foot into the classroom of Grade 10 Section I, Cara approached me with a huge smile on her face. “Welcome back, Miss Detective!” My gaze shifted from her face down to her body, and then to the surroundings. I smirked and gave her a welcoming deduction show. “Since I wasn’t present last Monday and yesterday, I assume you might have missed hearing the brilliance of my deductive prowess.” “Oh, right! You were on the news yesterday!” Toto pointed out. “You helped a police detective to solve
LUKE MATTHEW THE THIRD WEEK of classes opened with the usual peaceful Monday. The calmness of the environment as I walked the long way to Albertus Magnus University is as annoying as it can get every time. Like any other school day, I left the Salcedo Mansion several hours earlier than my schedule to spend about one to two hours in my Pops’ house. The rest of my free time is spent walking to the uni and reading thrilling adventure novels in AMU’s library. A thrilling adventure—something I have yearned for all of my years—an experience that (maybe) any high school student would wish for. I gave a jolly greeting to the security guard as I entered the premises of AMU. However, the quietness that welcomed my ears was deafening. My bottomline here: Afternoon classes suck. There weren’t even students loitering around the campus. Everything’s just boring—TOO BORING! . . . Or maybe not. The blanket of silence was torn apart when some of the morning class students, a few faculty members,
HIBARA THE SIGHT OF the classroom of Grade 10 Section I was very displeasing to the eyes. It made me grimace as soon as I stepped into the room with Major Vargas following behind. Not to mention, the noise that echoed in my ears was more than enough to pound my head. However, this bunch of annoying children can move like trained ninjas when a teacher is about to arrive. Everything, then, would be back to where it should be. A pale female with long hair walked towards us—our Class Monitor and my seatmate—Loiella Casis. “There’s only five minutes before the class starts,” she said and then glanced at the student behind me. “Luke, I’ve already marked you present. Take your seat.” “Thanks, Ella!” The Major beamed and then jogged to his seat in the back row. “You’re the transferee from last week, right?” Loiella turned to me. “Yeah,” I blandly answered. “I didn’t catch your name. You’re not talking to me even if we’re seatmates. Please don’t be offended. Just tell me your name so I
HIBARAI SECRETLY MADE my way to the gymnasium. I am going to bump into Toto, Levy, and Irish, and give them an unexpected grilling. Oh, this is exciting!“Mrs. Torres, excuse me. May I go to the restroom?” Levy raised his hand. Hmm, I think I will be interrogating him first.I entered the male restroom and had to put up with the stench. Why do all the male restrooms I know reek of such smell? Maybe I’m just not used to it because I’m a female. From the cubicle, I saw Levy arrived and stood in front of the urinal. Shocks! I stepped back so I wouldn’t move the door. He might be suspicious if the door suddenly changed its position without anyone else entering the area. When I heard footsteps, I returned to my position and found Levy leaving the restroom!“Hold your position, Levy,” I announced my presence as I pushed the cubicle open.“AHH!
HIBARA “SEE YOU WHEN I see you, detective wannabe,” I smirked and left him standing there. When I arrived at the top, a female voice rang in my ear. "Yeah, I just stole seven original shoes. Selling these at their real prices would give me enough money to buy an elegant gown for the ball, Indigo." I leaned on the wall of the Sports Office. Its door was slightly opened. “Yes, yes. Black helped me in picking the locks,” the female voice spoke once more. She’s on the phone which is why I can’t hear the other end of the conversation. “Alright. I’ll send you pictures of the items.” I heard footsteps coming and the beeping sound of the call ending. I quickly and quietly rushed downstairs. I looked around to find an unfamiliar face but found none. I sighed. Looks like I got no other choice. “Jacob,” I called the man standing by the gymnasium’s entrance. “Wow. You didn’t call me a ‘detective wannabe’ now. You must need something,” he smirked and I rolled my eyes. “The last suspect that
HIBARA “LEVY TICCUS!! YOU said we’re going to take recess together!” Someone shouted from behind and suddenly there was another person dashing through the hallway. Was that Janden Vher? I think I also saw his photograph on the CAT Officers board. “You know why Levy ran. I saw you staring at him before he ran. What is it, Detective? Are you on another case that involves our classmates?” The Major said as he stood behind me. “Alright there, Major. How about you stop prying on my business or refrain from being stupid, stop asking, and start thinking?” I retorted without looking at him, then took the white folder from my desk and left the classroom. Of course, he’s gonna be following me. I smiled mischievously as I started running. “Hey!” He shouted as he chased me down the flight of stairs. “Detective! Stop running!” I stopped abruptly by the second floor and he lost his sense of gravity, thus failing to acknowledge the final three steps of stairs and thumping on the tiled hallway. I
