Safety

Klaus watched intently as the doctor, an orthopedist who would be paid quite well to make sure Anika was in perfect shape soon, put the cast around the woman's arm, whose face was wet and teary from the pain. She looked horrible, but she was calm and she didn't seem to have changed her mind about needing outside help, for a moment he had been almost sure that the pain would make her ask for something else, and having to deny it would be difficult, but he had finally managed to dodge that bullet, and committing her to being with him for a while, he would not need more than two weeks to be able to isolate her completely, making her want to stay by his side with some help from an accident in the cabin would be all it would take. .

He'd had to stoop low, playing the concerned husband, Igor had gotten a completely legal doctor, which irritated him, but it would help his story and credibility, plus his partner had made sure he had material to bribe the man in case. that he decided to discuss it with a colleague.

"That should be enough," the doctor said, getting up and rinsing his hands in the bowl full of water and white plaster, before looking in Klaus's direction, "but she will need an X-ray in about ten weeks, if the lesion doesn't reduce properly will have to be operated."

Klaus saw the panicked look on the woman's face, which made him curious, why so much secrecy? He definitely would have expected some more trouble from her.

"I'll call you," Klaus assured, escorting the man outside. "The man who will take him back has your payment."

“The painkillers will wear off in about six hours” the man informed, taking a couple of vials from his suitcase, and handing them to Klaus “Each one contains two doses of painkiller, she'll need it.”

Klaus nodded, taking the small glass vials and looking at them with an idea crossing his mind, once he got rid of the doctor, he returned to the room, where Anika was dozing off the medicine, her expression looking more relaxed than the night before. so he would take it as a small victory.

While the woman slept, Klaus called room service, he needed to leave that hotel soon and return to his penthouse, if one of the woman's friends had somehow managed to make her way to the place, it meant that someone else she could, and he didn't need that attention at the moment.

Once the room was completely clean, he called his men, he had ensured that none of them would be recognized by Anika by rotating the guards away from his perimeter, so in case she woke up he would simply inform her that they were his guards, one of them took Anika in his arms, they followed Klaus in the elevator, Igor and Anatoly were downstairs making sure no one came near them, watching that no one who might recognize Anika was around.

Getting to the car was the easy part, probably explaining later would be the hard part, but he had the impression that he himself would have to be careful about the woman's secrets, his attitude about receiving assistance or not letting his father find out about it at all, to the point of offering him money in exchange for keeping quiet... yes, Klaus wasn't going to believe a word the woman was telling him, he knew she could be a complete manipulative bitch, and it was the main reason why he had chosen to scare her, if he won her trust at her most vulnerable moment, he would have a direct view into her twisted mind, deceiving her was only the beginning.

As Klaus slid into the back seat of the car, his phone vibrated with a message from his father, which managed to irritate him, but he knew better than to arouse suspicion with the man, so he rolled his eyes and forced himself to keep his expression on. serious, she answered the call that came in just a couple of seconds after the text

“Where the hell are you?” Mikhail growled from the other end of the line, the man had a thick Russian accent and a voice hoarse from years of yelling and smoking.

"Unlike you, working," Klaus replied, watching as Igor put the completely sedated Anika into the car, the woman's head fell into her lap, which irritated him. "What do you want?"  He asked his father, while he looked out the car window, it was a sunny day, so there were a couple of families on the street and teenagers in small groups walking through the square

“Do you think it's very funny, you little shit?”  Mikhail complained “I ordered you not to leave the city, I told you exactly what I wanted you to do, and…”

“Save it, will you? “ Klaus interrupted him, as one of the eldest sons, he knew that he could take power from his father with just a snap of his fingers, the fact that the man had influence was only irritating more than dangerous, but even after years of not being in complete control, Mikhail Petrov was still an old general to his sons, Klaus sighed “I know you're in Moscow…with Alenna”  he added, noticing his father's silence.

“What I do with your sister is none of your business” the man growled “you should worry more about getting my fucking merchandise, don't you think?”

“ I have a meeting with Kasakov in a couple of hours, the weapons will be delivered at their destination, according to my schedule, not yours” Klaus's voice darkened, he knew well that he and his father had never completely gotten along as a normal father and son, probably because the son of a bitch had shot all his kids at the age of eight under the guise of building character, and Klaus had been the only one to return the favor “anything else you want? complain?”

“Don't play with me, boy” Mikhail said with a cold voice “I'm still the boss, Ixander and Dmitri can take over your section of the business, I just have to give the order and your head would be mine.”

“ You finished?” Klaus asked, starting to feel a slight pang in his head, irritated with his father, but aware that he couldn't pull too far on the bull's horns until he was in a completely safe position, Mikhail sighed.

"Your sister wants to see you," the man finally said, almost grudgingly, so Klaus frowned.

“What are you up too?” Klaus questioned, aware that although his relationship with his sister was limited and strictly controlled by his father, he could almost see the man's smile when he heard the suspicion in his voice, Klaus was very careful when it came to his sister, after all, he knew the atrocities Mikhail was exposing her to.

“The girl wants to learn”  her father said almost proudly, which made him feel disgusted “ I'll leave her in your Penthouse this afternoon, you have two days before you can return her to me”

Klaus didn't answer, his father taking his silence as answer enough and hanging up. He went over the conversation a couple of times in his mind, trying to decipher his father's possible intentions by leaving his sister with him for two days, he knew that Alenna was smart, but also that his father would find a way to use her to his advantage, for which he would have to rush his plans to move to the cabin as soon as possible, convincing Anika would be difficult with her sister around...

"Buy clothes for Alenna" she finally said, looking at Igor, who was slightly uncomfortable in front of him, the man looked at him as if he were crazy

“Can I ask why? “ Igor inquired, Klaus snorted slightly, he really would have to do something about it.

"I need her to look like a normal teenager" she simply said, Igor nodded, knowing him well enough to know that he wouldn't give too much information about his plans if he pressed him, but Klaus was scheming the perfect way to make Anika trust him.

Waking up, Anika was startled to find herself in a different place, for a split second she had thought she was in her own room, but the events of the night before came back to her mind in a sequence of images and sensations that made her gasp, She sat up as she could, feeling slightly dizzy, her right arm was in a long plaster splint that ended below her shoulder, but the pain had subsided considerably.

She looked around in alarm, she wasn't in the hotel room from the beginning, it was definitely a different place, although the first hotel wasn't exactly the kind of place she would have expected to find herself, which is to say, it was a completely decent hotel and not a seedy hole full of rats or anything, but the room he was in now definitely had a more familiar air of luxury.

She was lying in the center of a double bed with soft blankets, it was clearly a guest room, no personal photos and everything perfectly arranged, tall windows with closed curtains and a tv in front of her, the furniture was dark in color and almost masculine, but perfectly designed to give that cozy look one would expect in the guest room.

She wasn't sure where she was or what she should do, Klaus, who she had no idea about, had told her on more than one occasion that he had money, and she had agreed to stay with the man for a couple of weeks until she was sufficiently recovered enough to return home, but knowing that she had been transferred without her consent gave her a chill, after all, who could assure her that she had not fallen into the hands of a psychopath?

Taking a deep breath, she tried to sit up, her body ached slightly from the blows, the analgesics had taken effect, but even so, the feeling of being numb didn't go away completely, her face felt swollen when she pulled back the covers, she noticed that she was wearing a male shirt that smelled of detergent, her legs were bare, for which she felt embarrassed, especially considering her situation, cursing internally, she remembered that she was not only semi-naked and at the mercy of a man she did not know, but also, he had seen her naked and had helped her shower while she was in shock.

Finally Anika took the initiative to get to her feet, wincing as her body protested, once she was on her feet, she made her way to an open door that led to a small bathroom, avoiding looking in the mirror, which It was difficult considering that the mirror took up so much of the wall of the sink, once she relieved herself and cleaned herself up as well as she could, relieved to feel the water on her body, she finally got up enough courage to face Klaus. .

She had no idea how she was going to stay sane, but she knew she was hurt and she couldn't just leave wherever she was without figuring out who or why someone had tried to kidnap her, she felt a chill again, it wasn't something she liked to think about, but she knew that sooner or later it was something he had to give his full attention to.

Once she left the room, a feminine and almost childlike laugh took her by surprise, and she quickly looked at her outfit, feeling horrified. Did the man have a partner? children? Before she could escape back inside, she heard Klaus's voice call for her.

“Anika? It's you? “ asked the man, footsteps approached her, and the man appeared in the hallway in front of her, looking almost casual, nothing like the suit in which she had met him, he was a tall and slender man, with dark hair slightly agitated, he smiled at her, which took her by surprise, it was a smile almost out of place considering the situation “Are you feeling well?” He asked, coming closer, his gray eyes shining slightly. Was he drunk?

"I…somewhat better" he admitted, trying to shake the doubts and fear from her mind, Klaus nodded, noticing her discomfort.

“You want something to eat? I ordered food” the man proposed, her stomach twisted at the idea of food, Klaus held out a hand “come on, you're safe, I promise.”
