LOGINCHAPTER FIVE
Ducalion's POV "Alpha I've seen to it that the last of them have been taken care of." My beta, Riel, announced, his head bowed, the moment he stepped into my office. I didn't even look up at him as I kept sifting through the piles up pack business. "Good. Ensure that they pay double the tribute for trying to rebel. After all, they can't borrow out forces for protection in time of trouble only to refuse to pay the tribute they agreed to. It's only right that everyone pays for their actions." "Alright Alpha. I'll see to it." I heard his footsteps receding but then I recalled something so I looked up. "Riel." "Yes Alpha?" He stopped and turned back to face me. "Where are my brothers?" "Well, Alphas Darin and Duncan are currently back at the pack manor." I nodded. "What about Caden and Cisco? Are they back from their trip yet?" "Well.... They did come back but..." He trailed off and I raised a brow at him. "What?" He cleared his throat. "They've been back since the day before yesterday." What? How could that be? Their trip was meant to take at least three days minimum to complete. I growled in frustration, my brow furrowing. What are these guys up to now? I sat still for a while before suddenly shooting up. No matter how I looked at it, my mind couldn't settle until I checked on those troublesome brothers of mine. Besides, I had an inkling that something had happened as even though Caden was immature and irresponsible, Cisco was very stable and logical. If he wasn't young and uninterested in ruling, I would have put him in an important position. Too bad he wouldn't have that. I dismissed Riel and then after clearing up, I walked out of the office in the pack hall and then out the door. I donned my "leader" face as I answered the greetings from my subjects left and right. Eventually, I got to my car and then drove to the manor as quickly as I could. The moment I stepped in though, I slowed my steps because a feeling more intense than what I had felt in my entire life, rumbled from within me, even awakening my restless wolf. Although I had never felt this feeling, the way my wolf growled within me was enough to announce to me what it was. Mate. My mate was here and now, she was barrelling towards me with clumsy steps. I wanted to stop her or warn her that I was here but I wasn't able to do anything as I stared transfixed at her. She felt familiar. Soon, she smacked hard into me and then careened backwards. With a groan, she raised her head towards me, her eyes widening and that was when I finally got a close look at her face. I couldn't resist announcing her as my mate but it didn't last because a surge of memories hit me almost instantly. A memory that had served as a night terror I had every night since I was young. The image of my father and mother being brutally murdered while I hid away with my brothers, helpless and unable to to a single thing. All by the same man my parents thought to be their closest confidant. That bastard, Frost. He made us flee from our home at the dead of the night like thieves from our own home while he occupied the place like it was his. The blood moon pack that was my family's legacy. For years, I had fled while making sure my younger brothers were safe. On the run, I gathered my troops, loyal only to I and my brothers and then I led them to lay waste to this man. Too bad that the monster was already dead when we got here. Stabbed brutally by someone unknown. There was no where to vent my vengeance at least that was until I heard of a daughter the monster had, hidden away safely the night we attacked. Like a lunatic that had an obsession, I got the picture of child and then I began scouring everywhere for her. Who knows that after years of fruitless search, the bitch would appear right here in my own home and that too as my mate. Well, since she delivered herself to me, she shouldn't blame me for ending her pathetic life. I supressed my wolf, letting my anger take control and then I lunged at her, gripping her neck tightly in my hand. Scoffing, I applauded her audacity. I would have ended her right there and then if Duncan didn't speak. He was the only one amongst my brother I easily listened to. Reluctantly, I dropped her, watching as she crumbled pathetically to the floor. As I watched her heave in and out, breathless, a new idea appeared in my head. I don't need to kill her immediately. No. Not when I hadn't peeled her skin off her body but by bit. Not until I have made her scream. Only after that would I send her off to the grim reaper in the most painful way possible.Chapter 127Hailey POV "Come in, Hailey. Why are you lurking around." Dennis said from behind the door with sarcasm evident in his voice. I haven't even knocked on the door yet, how did he know I was there?I managed to open the door with my chained hands and entered the room and true to my assumptions, it was Fiona and Dennis in the room more like a dining room. There was lots of food on the table they were seated. "Look who is finally here, I thought our breakfast date, was going to run into the afternoon." Fiona said, smirking."So sorry your royal highness, I didn't mean to keep you waiting." I retorted and I immediately regretted it. This isn't the plan, I'm supposed to be a weak thing.Acting like I wasn't going to defy them and have them lose guard a little but here I am, making snarky remarks. But I don't care, I can always start establishing the plan from tomorrow."Oh Redhead, you flatter me too much. You are the royal highness, look at you all dressed up elegantly." She c
Chapter 126Ducalion POV "They should be back any minute now, I already called Riel and asked them to come back." I repeated for the umpteenth time."Calm down, Ducalion. They will be back soon." Darin assured me."Yeah and we have been waiting for more than an hour for them to come." I hissed. There wasn't an attack on us but we did spot a wolf lurking around the pack. We figured he was there to spy on us, we had Riel and Cisco follow him discreetly to see who he was going to report too.And that was hours ago, is the place that far stretched that they haven't gotten back? They said they will soon start coming back when I called them over an hour ago."I'm also not relaxed as well, I mean what if something happened to them?" Duncan spoke out, looking frustrated and pinching the bridge between his eyebrows."I think it best if we stay positive, nothing is going to happen to them. They will come back to us safely. And there, they come." Darin said, gesturing to the door at the same ti
Chapter 125Hailey POV I groaned as I felt the usual cold water pour on me. That's always the way the guards wake me up every morning and today was no different.I don't know why they just can't let me sleep, it's not like I have anything to do for them."Wake your lazy ass up." He growled, but instead of opening my eyes or standing, I turned instead. I was exhausted, I wanted nothing more than to sleep more."I said get up, you are going somewhere today." He barked and I stood up almost immediately. Did he just say I'm going somewhere today?Where could that be?Are they letting me go?"Where am I going to?" I asked, looking up at him for answers."You will find out, now get the fuck up before I lock you in here for the rest of the day." He hissed and turned away from me, walking towards the door."The chains." I stated the obvious, how does he expect me to walk with the chains? They were long but only long enough to get me to the restroom. He growled and came back to me, unlocking
Chapter 124Ducalion POV "Honestly, at this point I think we need to evacuate this place for sometime." Darin suggested."I support that." Cisco added in."But we can't just leave here, we need to stay. We have to fight them off whenever they come." I said."What if we get the remaining pack members in the pack out to somewhere safe and we stay ourselves. We all are trying not to risk their lives and I think this is the best way we can do that." Duncan said.I thought about it and what he said makes so much sense. "Let's do that." I agreed.Ever since that day we fought with the Alphas, we won but we haven't rested since then. That was three days ago by the way.Rogues have been frequenting the pack, we managed to fight them all off but I'm not sure how much longer we can hold on.Evacuating the pack would have been a really nice option but it's like we are running from them. And that will only make them seek out more to us, I want to end this once and for all."We need to know wher
Chapter 123Hailey POV I regret it, I regret running in that direction. It's been two days since I got here and those two days have been filled with endless torment.I haven't seen Fiona or Dennis much but their guards have been tormenting me nonstop. "Eat your food before I change my mind." One of the guards in the cell with me barked. I looked at the plate he dropped in front of me.I can't eat that, the mere thought of that being in my body leaves an unsettling feeling. "I will rather starve." I hissed, looking away from the food before I would be prompted to throw up."Alright then, we will see what my lady thinks about that when she comes." He hissed and turned away from me, typing something on his phone. My chained hands went to my stomach, rubbing it slowly. It was still very flat but knowing that a tiny being is growing inside is a lot for me.I still don't know how to feel about the pregnancy. I wasn't sad about it nor was I happy. I don't want any child to come out of me
Chapter 122Hailey POV "Argggh." A scream erupted from my insides as I felt something cold pour on me. My eyes fluttered open, looking frantically around."Welcome back to the world of the living." A voice that I had tried to forget, one that caused me so much pain."Look at you, all startled. I knew you missed me." He continued."Why am I here Dennis?" I said angrily."Relax, I just brought you home." He replied with a smirk."Home? You call me chained to the ground in this stinking cell home?" I shouted."Well, what else am I supposed to call your house till the day you die if not home." He answered. I shivered, what does he mean till the day that I die?"What are you trying to insinuate?" I asked, trying to keep my voice at bay."You are smart Hailey, I'm sure you already figured out what I'm insinuating.""You bastard." I yelled. "Why am I here? Why did you bring me here? I don't owe you, I paid you back every dime I owe you. So why the fuck am I here?" "You ask too many questio
