Chapter 33

Elena left the building where she lived shortly after eight. Traffic was heavy, as always at that hour. Honking horns, motorcycles weaving between cars, street vendors crossing at the lights.

At the second traffic light, she looked in the rearview mirror. She saw a dark sedan two cars behind. In truth, it wasn’t anything unusual. She lowered her gaze and breathed. The light turned green, she changed lanes, and the sedan changed too.

"Coincidence. Probably."

At the next light, a man o

Chapter 52Elena walked slowly, barefoot, feeling the cold floor beneath her feet. A sound bothered her, it seemed like… heartbeats. She stopped in the middle of the hallway, closing her eyes tightly."Stop…" she murmured, placing her hands on her head. "Stop… what is that smell?"The scent was so intense that she felt her fangs descend. When she opened her eyes again, they were red, and she knew exactly where the sound was coming from. The kitchen—someone was there… and alone. She started walking again and suddenly found herself at the kitchen door. One of the employees stood with his back turned, cutting something on the counter. He hummed softly while preparing something.Elena held the doorknob when she heard:"Elena."Her body went rigid—it was Vlad’s voice.Vlad was leaning against the wall beside the door, watching."Go back," he said calmly. "Now."She trembled."I… I can’t…"The employee turned his head slightly, confused."Is someone there?"Elena took another step.Vlad app

Chapter 51Elena’s body went completely still in Vlad’s arms. Her heart, which had been beating weakly and irregularly, stopped altogether.Vlad squeezed his eyes shut, and tears of blood ran down his face. Valkyria and Adrian approached slowly. Then it happened—they heard the first heartbeat. She suddenly inhaled. Her skin, pale from blood loss, lost the last trace of human color. She felt her fangs break through her gums. She opened her eyes—they were light red, like rubies.Elena blinked slowly, confused. Suddenly, she heard very loud sounds: the wind, the crackling of the fireplace, the beating hearts of Valkyria and Adrian—they sounded like drums. Everything was too loud. Too much."Vlad..."He held her face with both hands, gently brushing his thumbs over her cheekbones."I’m here. I’m here, my love."Elena tried to sit up, but her body still wouldn’t obey."It hurts..." she murmured, placing her hands on her head. "Everything hurts... and I... I feel hungry."Her fangs lengthen

  • CEO Vampire & His Secretary   Chapter 50

Chapter 50Vlad walked through the forest like a shadow among shadows. The spell ran through his veins, making everything sharper. The trail narrowed, giving way to a natural stone passage covered in moss and filled with flowers.Hundreds of them. The scent was sweet, sickening, laced with something chemical that would make any human drop to their knees within seconds—hallucinating, paralyzed, or falling into a deep sleep. A classic pack trap for hunters or human intruders.Vlad stopped at the entrance of the passage. He tilted his head and inhaled deeply. The smell was strong enough to irritate even his vampiric senses. He laughed softly. He crossed the passage. The sky was beginning to brighten. Ahead, among the more spaced trees, stood an old structure.Gray stone covered with black ivy. It was not recent. It was old. Perhaps as old as he was.Vlad slowed his pace.On the path leading to the house, figures began to emerge from the shadows of the trees.Men.At least a dozen.Partia

  • CEO Vampire & His Secretary   Chapter 49

Chapter 49The wind began to blow hard. The moonlight simply disappeared. Suddenly the room darkened, the lights going out for a few seconds. The flames in the fireplace trembled.A black blur, larger than any natural shadow, crossed the window in a second, with wings that beat once before folding. The giant bat landed on the wooden floor, spun around itself in a furious whirlwind, and in less than a second Vlad was standing in the center of the room in his human form. His long coat vibrated with the sudden movement of the transformation, and his red eyes glowed like embers in the dark.He saw his sister leaning against the railing, a silver arrow lodged in her side and pain written across her face. He looked at Adrian, who was also injured. He crouched beside Valkiria, touching her face gently as he assessed the severity of the silver in her body."Valkiria..." he said in a low voice. She slowly opened her eyes, forcing a smile despite the pain."You arrived... early... brother."Vla

Chapter 48They heard howls coming from multiple directions. Adrian stood up, his eyes black as ink. Valkiria grabbed the silver dagger with its sheath that was still resting by the fireplace and strapped it to her thigh, ready for use."How many do you sense?" he asked quietly."At least seven. Maybe eight." She tilted her head, scenting the air. "Two are circling by the greenhouse. The others are coming straight through the front. They’re young… they smell like adrenaline and rage. Newly turned wolves."Adrian gave a cold smile."Good. Less experience, more recklessness."They knocked down the main gate. Valkiria ran to the living room window and pulled the curtains open at once. Under the light of the nearly full moon, three massive silhouettes crossed the lawn at terrifying speed."They’re not waiting for permission," she murmured.Adrian stood at the front door, calmly unlocking it."Then let’s welcome them."When the door opened, the first wolf leaped inside. Adrian stepped asid

Chapter 47"Vlad… you… you killed him."He looked at her seriously."It was either him or us."Elena sighed, frightened."He wasn’t human?""He was," Vlad replied coldly. "But he was sent by wolves. There was no way to trust him."She slowly shook her head, trying to process what had just happened."That idiot would have ended up dead anyway," Vlad continued. "By me… or by the one who hired him."His eyes narrowed slightly."Only a complete fool would hire a human to come after me. But now I know one thing."Elena swallowed hard."What?""Next time… they’ll be smarter."Silence."Wolves…" she repeated slowly. "You mean… werewolves?"He let out a short sigh before stating the obvious."Yes."Elena closed her eyes for a moment."Of course. Vampires, werewolves… what else exists that I still don’t know about?""More than you would like to know," he answered honestly. She laughed nervously."Great. My fiancé is a five-hundred-year-old vampire and now I’ve discovered there are wolves tryin
