Rhea's Pov

My heels dug into the wet grass, Alaric’s footsteps crunching close behind mine. The air was thick with smoke and tension, and the further we ran, the darker it got. The manor lights didn’t reach this far. Just trees, a gravel path, and the eerie glint of moonlight reflecting off the lake.

The figure was fast. They moved like someone who knew the terrain. Maybe there were the ones who planted whatever it was that blew up the manor!

We followed the path back toward the lake, but the figure had already vanished. I slowed my pace, panting softly as I reached the edge of a stone fence. The wind tugged at my hair and Alaric’s jacket wrapped around me, but the chill running down my spine had nothing to do with the breeze.

“Where did they go?” I murmured.

“There’s nowhere to go from here…” Alaric stepped up beside me, squinting into the trees, “This is a dead end.”

My eyes darted around. There was no one. Just rocks, shadows, and the moon’s reflection coming from the lake. I look

  • CEO Wants Me: Heiress Has Risen Again!   Chapter 477

Rhea's Pov"What the hell is going on? Why are you both staring at me like that?!" The younger man, the one who had just burst in calling Arthur "Dad" didn't move. He just stared at me with an expression that shifted from shock to hope. He straightened his disheveled coat as he took a tentative step toward me. Before I could demand an explanation again, he reached out. His hands were large, steadying, and warm as they enveloped mine. He gripped them with a desperation that made my skin crawl. "You're my daughter," he whispered, his voice thick with a sudden, overwhelming emotion. "You’re my child." I felt like he had slapped me. For a moment, my brain simply refused to process the words. I blinked, looking at his face, then down at his hands on mine. "What?" I finally croaked. Then, the shock snapped into a sharp, cold rejection. I violently slapped his hands away and scrambled back until my spine hit the cold hospital wall. "Are you crazy?! Get away from me! How can I be your da

Rhea's Pov “Copy that," she said, not looking up. "Starting high-flow oxygen. Charge the defib just in case."As the oxygen began to flow, the terrifying blue tint in the man’s face slowly started to recede, replaced by a ghostly, waxy grey. It wasn't perfect, but it was life.Carmen came rushing back, looking breathless. "Rhea, we found a visitor’s badge. His name is Arthur but we haven't been able to reach his emergency contact yet. The line just keeps ringing."The paramedics were already lifting Mr. Authur onto the gurney."We're moving him now," the lead medic announced. "Is there any family here?"I stepped forward, straightening my blazer, though my knees were still dusty from the floor. "We haven't located them yet. But I am the co-owner of this building, and I am taking responsibility. I’m going with you."The paramedic looked at me, then at my determined expression. She didn't have time to argue. "Fine. Hop in the front or follow in your car, but we’re leaving now.""I'm co

Rhea's Pov "So, it’s settled then, Rhea," Carmen said, her voice like velvet as she closed her leather-bound planner. "The winter collection will be launched exclusively through the newly opened galleries. It would be a very large hit.” Carmen had called me to come to the office earlier as I told her I had another idea that would lead to a successful business. We have been talking about this for a while, but today we finally finalized the whole thing. I smiled, feeling that familiar spark of professional satisfaction. "I couldn't agree more, Carmen. Business has never looked better, and with this partnership, I think we’re going to set a record for the final quarter.""To growth," Carmen added, standing up and smoothing out her silk trousers."To growth," I echoed as we walked out of her office together. Carmen was telling me about a new sourcing trip she had planned for the mines in Colombia, her hands gesturing gracefully as she spoke. We were discussing the rising market value o

Leon's Pov “I've been caught. If whoever did this sends this photo to them, it'll only be a matter of time before Alaric and Rhea know that I'm the one behind the accident!” If only I had gotten there faster and taken Rhea away from that place before they were taken to the by Isabelle, things would have been easier. Before I got to the accident scene, Isabelle had taken Alaric and lied to him that she was his fiancée. At that time, after seeing Alaric reject Rhea and Rhea crying, I had thought it was a very good idea that could separate Alaric and Rhea. I watched from afar as she cried her heart out after promising herself that she wasn't going to cry. She had fallen onto the grass, her clothes soaked in tears. I could have helped her, but under no circumstances would she have gone home with me. I knew that. So I let Carmen take her and nurture her. She became Isabelle's enemy. I asked Anya to give Isabelle that medicine to feed Alaric after seeing that despite the accident, Alaric

Leon's Pov. The corridor was silent. I walked slowly, my footsteps echoing in the dim lightening of the corridor. My eyes were fixed on the door at the end of the hall and until I got to that door, I didn't look at anything else. That place was my destination, it was my sanctuary. I reached the door, turned the handle, and stepped inside. The room was dark until I flicked on the desk lamp. The board on the far wall came into view and the surface of the board was all covered in pictures of Rhea. I had spent months collecting them. There she was laughing at a cafe, walking through the park, and sleeping in the back of a car. Some were clear, others were blurred shots taken from a distance. I closed the door and locked it.I walked toward the board. I didn't touch the photos yet. I just hovered my hands over them, feeling the closeness of her image."Finally," I whispered. My plan was working. Today, Rhea had looked at me differently. The distance was gone. I had played the supportive f

Rhea’s Pov“What?”The word came out of him too fast, sharp with disbelief. Alaric stared at me like I’d just spoken in a language he didn’t recognize.I didn’t blink. I didn’t soften my expression. “Could you please repeat the question? I don't think I heard you clearly.” he asked, frowning now, clearly trying to understand what he’d just heard.“Are you getting married,” I said again, my voice steady, “to a woman named Justine?”For a moment, he just stood there. Then he let out a short, disbelieving laugh that died almost immediately. “What are you talking about?”His confusion wasn’t feigned. I could see it in the way his brows pulled together, in the way his shoulders tensed as though he were bracing for something he couldn’t see.“Rhea,” he said carefully, “did you fall asleep in the car and dream about me getting married or something? Because I genuinely don’t understand this question.”“You’re saying you’re not getting married,” I replied.“Of course I'm getting married. I’m s
