“K… Kevin…” My voice cracked, trembling along with my entire body. Somehow, I identified with this person more than what he was first trying to show me. This version of Kevin that was unhinged. His eyes gleamed with obsession. His lips twisted into a mockery of a smile as he stepped closer to the bed, his arms slowly rising like he thought we were in some kind of twisted reunion scene. It felt like I had seen it so many times that I wasn't surprised by it anymore. But I was still scared.

“I… I need you to leave.” I stammered, inching back until my spine hit the cold metal bed rail behind me. I reached out toward the nurse call button, but he was faster. His hand slammed down on mine, pinning it to the bed.

“You’re scared… of me?” He whispered, as though the idea itself was foreign and ridiculous, “No, no, no… Rhea, I’m not here to hurt you. I’m here to take back what belongs to me.”
