Rhea's POV

“Honestly, it makes sense,” another girl chimed in. “I’ve known them since junior high. The way her dad and brothers dote on Ginny? You’d think she was their biological daughter. Meanwhile, Rhea always looked like the help.”

“I mean, just look at the way they dress. Ginny’s always in new clothes, while Rhea wears whatever’s left. Even the driver seems to respect Ginny more.”

“So… Rhea’s been lying to us all this time? Pretending to be someone she’s not?”

“I don’t think she said anything directly, but come on. Ginny’s sweet, smart, and popular. If she says something, I believe her.”

My hands curled into fists, nails digging into my palms. But before I could process the sting of betrayal, the door flew open.

“Rhea and Ginny’s mom is here! Someone said the Dean called her after that post went viral!”

Rachel. Of course.

A sigh slipped from my lips—too loud. Everything fell silent.

“Wait. Did you hear that?”

I stepped out of the stall, arms folded, gaze calm but cutting. “Don’t

  • CEO Wants Me: Heiress Has Risen Again!   Chapter 179

Rhea's Pov I just realised that my hair had grown longer than it was supposed to be. Why? Why was it like that? Why didn't I remember what led me to be admitted into the hospital? Why? My heart started racing, and panic clawed up my chest. I felt like I was suffocating under confusion. My body ached in ways that didn’t make sense, like pain layered on top of old wounds I didn’t even remember getting. The doctor stepped closer, more cautious now, like he was afraid of triggering something, “Miss Thorne…” He said slowly, “How much do you remember?” I paused. There was something in the way he asked that and I didn’t like it. It was as if something had happened, something really bad. “What kind of dumb question is that?” I snapped, my eyes narrowing. I was feeling more irritated than ever, “Would I be asking if I remembered anything?!” His shoulders tensed, “I… I apologize, I just needed to confirm. You were in a coma… for nearly eight months.” I stilled. The silence in the room

Rhea's Pov A dull, throbbing pain shot throughout my body like ants eating at my skin. It hurts so much. My fingers twitched first, followed by a tight breath that forced its way through my lungs. My throat was dry and raw. I tried to swallow, but doing that small action hurt like hell. The fluorescent lights above me felt like someone was using a knife to jab at my eyes. I winced and closed them again. Why was it so damn bright?!I waited a few seconds before blinking slowly. The room started to come into focus, slowly becoming clearer. In front of me was a white ceiling. I could also hear the sound of machines humming. It sounded like that steady, rhythmic beep of a heart monitor that they normally used in hospitals. Then the faint scent of antiseptic and sterile air invaded my nose. A hospital? Was I in a hospital? I turned my head sluggishly to the side, ignoring the slight pain that coursed through me when I did that and saw someone slumped in a chair beside me. It was a young

Alaric's Pov I sank to the chair beside her, my hands on my knees, my throat clenched as I watched her chest rise and fall slowly, the beep of the machine echoing in the hospital room. A part of me wanted to go back to Briovic just to hit him until he didn't ever wake up while another part was whispering about how I had failed her. How I had let her get hurt. My eyes burned with tears but I squeezed them shut. “I should have gotten to you sooner. I should have tried to pry into what was going on.” I whispered. But of course she couldn't hear me, she was still unconscious. In a coma where the doctor said she might not wake up for a while as her body was struggling to heal all the damages that had been done. “I know that I'm supposed to let you go…” My hands hovered above hers, but I didn't touch her. It felt like I didn't deserve to touch her, "I'm supposed to protect you from afar just like I used to do previously and watch you find your happiness in the hands of someone else

Alaric's Pov “It's just as I said. There has been a notification to every person who deals in the underground business not to touch the woman named Rhea Thorne as she's under the protection of one of the Seven Nights of the Underworld so no one had dared to touch her.” “Why did you?” “I owed Ginny a favour which I had to pay and I also wanted to see the woman who had an immunity from killers in the underworld. Nothing else.” My jaw clenched at his response. That immunity... I always suspected someone was watching Rhea's back from the shadows and that man from that night had already admitted to watch her, but I never thought it was one of the Seven. And now I had to ask the one question that had been burning in my chest for months. “Who was it?” I asked lowly. Briovic blinked through his swollen lids, “W… What?” I stepped forward slowly, crouching so we were eye-level, my voice cold and even, “Which one of the Seven Nights was protecting Rhea? Who was behind that warni

Alaric's Pov “Boss, Miss Rhea has been settled down in the hospital. The doctor said that currently, she's in a coma after all the damage that had been done to her body. Marcus has also been hospitalized. It was even a wonder that he held on until they got to the hospital. The doctor said the bullet missed his heart merely by a few inches but it still affected some other organs. He would have to be watched for a long period of time until he can be cleared to leave the hospital.” Nathan relayed the doctor's words to me and I nodded. It's been seven hours since Rhea and Marcus were taken to the hospital. I hadn't gone to see Rhea yet, I couldn't. It was my fault that she had gotten in danger, it was because of my negligence that Rhea had almost died. “Aren't you going to see her? The doctor said she was calling out your name before she went into a coma. If you're there, then she might be able to wake up faster.” My heart clenched. I wanted nothing more than to leave this blo

Alaric's Pov BANG! The shot rang out and slammed into his thigh. Briovic screamed like an animal who was caught in a hunter’s trap. The sound echoed off the steel walls, a high-pitched, animalistic scream that was music to my ears. “Still think I was lying?” I muttered. He rolled on the ground, clutching his bleeding leg, cursing, sputtering. “You shot me! YOU CRAZY…” Click. Another gunshot. He froze. He looked up at me with wide, bloodshot eyes. I had the gun aimed at his chest. Then click again. However, nothing came out of the gun. I didn't see the splatter of blood I expected to see nor another scream of agony I was eager to hear. He smirked weakly, “You are out of bullets.” I smiled right back, cracking my knuckles, “I don’t need bullets to kill you, Briovic.” I dropped the gun and walked towards where he had dropped the metal pipe that there was blood on and picked it up. It was the same rusted metal pipe he had used to beat Rhea and leave wounds all over her body.
