Rhea's POV

“Hey Rhea.” Ginny’s voice floated into the basement before she did, laced with smug satisfaction. “Still alive?”

It had been three days. Three days of confinement in this damp, windowless place. They gave me just enough to survive—stale bread, a cup of rice, a small glass of water twice a day. Barely anything, but not enough to kill me. Just enough to remind me I wasn't valued.

Ginny stepped down slowly, her heels clicking with every step. She was smiling, of course. That kind of sweet, poisonous smile that made my blood boil.

“Look at you,” she said, circling me like a cat toying with a dying mouse. “So thin. So pitiful. Why did you have to anger Dad the moment he got back? He was actually happy to see you, you know.”

I didn’t respond. I just watched her through half-lidded eyes, forcing my expression into blank indifference.
