Chapter 26 – The Bigger Problem

Emma got to her office early; she closed the door of her office and went straight to her desk. She dialed Julian’s number from her mobile phone.

“Where are you?” Emma asked.

“I’m in the parking lot,” Julian said. “Do you want me to come up now?”

“Yes. Come quickly,” she replied.

Emma ended the call and pulled the investor file closer. She checked the notes she had made earlier in the week. Her pen was still there. She tapped it against the paper.

A knock came on the door. She opened it for Julian. He stepped inside and closed the door again.

“What is it? What was that message you sent to me yesterday?” Emma asked.

Julian placed a folder on the desk. “It’s worse than we thought. I traced the last two transfers Nathan approved. Both lead to the same offshore group, but through different companies.”

Emma opened the folder. She looked at the documents one by one. “And?”
