Ready to marry you

Eliana frowned upon hearing the statement of Augustus. “I do not know what is wrong with you but I am not interested in working here,” Eliana pronounced. “I shall take my leave,” she said and turned to go when Augustus grabbed her wrist spun her around thus, making her look at him.

“How many do I need to tell you that do not leave the conversation in the middle?” Augustus questioned her.

“Leave my hand,” Eliana said and Augustus let it go. He then stepped back and went towards his desk. Standing against it, he slid one hand in his pocket and with the other he picked the tablet from the desk.

“You do 3 part time jobs,” Augustus read out from the tablet screen, showing Eliana his fingers and continued, “You have pending house bills, and a huge debt to pay which your bed-ridden father has on his head. Most importantly, you need a good treatment for your father else he will be dead.”

Eliana widened her eyes as the man in front of her knew everything about her. “What are you trying to do?”

“I am trying to make you see your problems which cannot be solved by the little jobs you are doing in different places. Instead work for me as an Assistant as well as a Bodyguard. There is someone who wants to kill me so you need to protect me,” Augustus explained to Eliana.

Eliana was confused. ‘Can’t he hire some trained bodyguards for him? Why me?’

“I know you must be thinking that why am I asking you to protect me when I can ask for professionals. That’s because I do not want anyone to find out about this,” Augustus pronounced.

“I have no qualifications apart from high school. I am a drop-out. I do not think I am suitable for working as an assistant cum bodyguard here,” asserted Eliana. Augustus smiled seeing how truthful Eliana was!

“It does not matter to me. You saved me that night and you impressed me. That’s enough for me,” he proclaimed. “You are a former athlete so I believe you are more than qualified for this job,” Augustus stated.

‘This man knows everything about me. Why did I even use that route that day?’ Eliana wondered. She was still hesitant to work with him.

“I do not know what the work of an assistant is! As you already have found out about me so you might have seen I was not in a management course but was in the sports academy. You can talk with a professional bodyguard not to tell about his/her identity and work for you as the assistant,” Eliana suggested to him.

Augustus chuckled and folded his arms. “You are the first person I have seen who is not considering a good paying job in the Sapphire Group. No one is as good as you. Assistant work can be taught to you by my secretary so just accept this offer,” Augustus stated and went closer to Eliana.

“Do you want the best treatment for your father? I can give you and I will make sure that he gets a speedy recovery,” Augustus pronounced. He was trying to convince Eliana from every possible way.

“I am not interested. I can do everything on my own,” asserted Eliana when she heard a chuckle escaped Augustus’s mouth.

“I am afraid if you can do that. I do not your help,” Eliana asserted and walked out from there. Augustus could not believe that walked after Eliana.

“How could she reject my offer?!” Augustus wondered and kept walking. He grasped Eliana’s hand and pulled her back. Her hand rested on Augustus’s shoulder for the support while Augustus’s one hand was on her waist and other was grasping her hand.

They both looked into each other’s eyes and an intense eye lock happened between the two. They both were interrupted by a voice. Augustus’s moved his head slightly and saw his father there along with his wife.

“What is this going on?” Frederico asked. Augustus let go off Eliana who stood beside him and looked at Frederico and his wife. Eliana excused herself from there when she felt Augustus’s hand on her wrist. She frowned and tried removing her hand from his grip but it was in vein.

“Who is this woman?” Josefina questioned Augustus as she looked at his hand which was holding Eliana’s hand.

“Why are you here?” Augustus asked Frederico, ignoring the presence of Josefina.

“It is my company so I can come here whenever I want to,” Frederico pronounced.

“It is not your company anymore. You can leave as I have something important to handle,” Augustus rudely replied to his father and turned to look at Eliana who was confused to see all that.

“Your parents are here and you are talking this way!” Josefina was raged at Augustus and then looked at Eliana. “Do you love to hear the family matters of other people? Get out from here,” she shouted at her.

Before Augustus could speak, he heard Eliana speaking, “I am not interested in your family matters at all. And do not raise your voice on me. You do not own me.” Augustus smiled upon hearing the response. “Who are you to speak like that to me?” Eliana questioned her. This infuriated Josefina and Frederico.

Eliana then turn to look at Augustus and glared at him. “Leave my hand at this instant else I will beat you up in front of your parents,” Eliana’s threatening voice was enough for Augustus to let go off her hand.

Eliana stepped forward when she saw Gia there who was glaring at her. “What are you doing here?” Gia asked Eliana who ignored her and walked past her when Augustus stopped her.

“Eli, don’t go like this. I know I have done wrong and I accept that too. I am ready to marry you,” Augustus announced.
