Chapter 4

"Have you finalized everything that will be used in your wedding?" asked Darren's Mom. They are now at Trina's house and are talking about marriage again.

"Okay, Mom. Right, Trina?" Darren turned to Trina who was still eating.

"Ah, yes. Everything is okay," she answered before glaring at Darren. There wasn't a day that he didn't annoy her.

After eating lunch, they just talked again in the living room. Trina informed her of everything she and Darren talked about.

During that whole week, everyone was busy with the wedding. Trina was also tired because she kept talking to those who were taking care of their wedding that would take place the next day.

"It's tiring," she said as she got into Darren's car. She leaned her back and closed her eyes. She wanted to go to bed after all the places they had been to. They just came from a hotel to rent a big hall for the wedding.

Darren started his car and then took the road to Trina's house.

"We're here," he said when they arrived but Trina didn't move. He turned to the woman because of that. She was fast asleep in the car. Probably brought on by fatigue. Darren just sighed. Who wouldn't fall asleep like this after all the preparations they'd done? They stayed inside the car but Darren soon felt uncomfortable. He thought Trina might be feeling uncomfortable too. Even he was feeling sleepy too so he went out of the car and opened Trina's side of the door.

He lifted her carefully. She must have been in deep sleep not to feel anything.

"What happened to here?" Joyce asked when Darren walked in carrying Trina in his arms.

"I guess she's tired," he answered blankly. Darren went straight to Trina's room and opened it. He laid Trina down and fixed the blanket. He lay down next to the girl because even he was tired.

He closed his eyes and noticed that he seemed to be doing something that he didn't normally do before. But now he was doing it in front of this girl. He smiles and grins every time he sees Trina's irritated look. Trina was also the first girl he teased and annoyed. Because of his thoughts, he didn't realize that he fell asleep.

Trina's father arrived. Zack just looked at Joyce who was watching Trina's room.

"What are you looking at there?" he asked then checked the other child's room but there was nothing new there.

"It's been a while since Darren entered Trina's room but he still hasn't come out." She wanted to talk to Darren since Trina was asleep but he still hadn't come out.

"Is Trina there too?"

"Yes. She was asleep when Darren brought her."

Zack walked up to check the two. Joyce just followed him. He slowly opened the unlocked door. Zack was just blocking the door so Joyce sneaked a peak. Her eyes widened when she saw the two sleeping side by side. Zack grabbed his cell phone and took a picture of the two. "Dad, are you okay with this?" Joyce asked weakly because her father seemed to be more pleased with what was happening between the two of them.

"There's nothing wrong, Joyce, because the two of them will be husband and wife." He just answered then pulled his daughter and closed the door so the two could rest. Joyce just kicked Trina's door out of annoyance. She thought she could talk to the young man alone because Trina was asleep. But she couldn't believe he also slept in the girl's bed.

The day of the wedding came. After Trina was done, she just sat in her room. She was just playing with her fingers and wondering if she would continue with the marriage or not. But she knew that she would not be fighting small people if ever she did that. She also knew that her relationship with her father would not be good. She just took a deep breath. At any minute now, the ceremony would begin.

She was alone in her hotel room and was just waiting for the signal to come out.

"'Ma, I know you're watching. I'm getting married to a man I don't know and don't love. Is this our fate? You fell in love with a married man and then I will marry a man I don't even love," she said sadly. She couldn't stop her tears from flowing. She quickly wiped it off because it would ruin her makeup.

"Ma'am, we have to go out," the organizer of their wedding announced. She just smiled and picked up her gown.

"You're so beautiful, my daughter," her father said. He faced Trina and smiled at her. "I know, you don't want this marriage and I'm really sorry about it. I'm just thinking about how good your life will be."

"I understand, Dad. There's nothing I can do."

"Don't worry. I know one day you will love each other too." Trina smiled bitterly. She hoped. She just hoped she would be able to love him one day, or that her future husband would be able to love her one day.

Trina hooked her hand on her father's arm and they left the room together. The organizer guided them to the hall where their wedding would take place. When the organizer signaled, the big door opened again. They were greeted by so many guests. The hall was full and she knew they were all from the business world. She only smiled slightly as she and her father walked slowly down the red carpet.

She looked at Darren who was in the front looking at her as well. She couldn't look away from the young man's handsomeness, especially now with his well-groomed and beautiful hair. The reaction on Darren's face was serious and blank as if he was going to attend a funeral and not a wedding.

Before she and her father could get close, Darren greeted and smiled at Trina's father.

"Take care of my daughter, Young Man."

"I will, Uncle," he said with a smile. Darren took Trina's hand and then hooked it on his arm. They walked closer to the one who was going to marry them. The wedding ceremony had started and everything was quiet.

They faced each other as they were about to put on their rings. They even exchanged their vows and the whole place echoed with applause.

"You may now kiss the bride." Announcing this, Darren faced Trina and slowly removed her veil. He stared at Trina. Whether the girl had makeup or not, she was really beautiful. He just lowered his eyes to Trina's lips and it seemed that she was deliberately attracting him. He slowly brought his face closer. Trina just closed her eyes. Darren kissed Trina but she realized it was only on the side of her lips. She really thought that the young man would kiss her. Fortunately, it was only on the side. Everyone applauded as the two became one.

They started eating. They both sat down in the seat that was still in front. Trina only ate a little so Darren turned to her.

"You're not eating?"

"I just don't feel like it. Maybe I'll eat later," she answered and Darren didn't pay much attention anymore. The two of them just stood up as they were about to cut the cake. Trina looked around and almost all the guests were happy with the wedding. She just sighed. After the wedding, she would no longer go home to her father's house. She and Darren would go straight to the same house given by Darren's grandfather. It seemed like her things were already there since yesterday.

"Are you okay?" Darren's mother asked Trina when she noticed that she seemed restless.

"I'm fine, Aunt. Maybe just tired."

"From now on, call me Mommy, okay? Because you and Darren are married. I am glad that my son married you," she said happily. Trina just smiled because they were the only ones happy with what was happening.

Joyce was not happy because it seemed that her world had fallen. The man of her dreams just married her sister who didn't seem to care about it.

"Where are you going?" Emily asked as Joyce stood up.

"The restroom," she replied then left.

The wedding had ended and the tiredness was visible on their faces since they had talked to almost all the guests. They left some guests and their parents inside. They wanted to go home to rest and sleep. They got inside Darren's car. Since Darren was so gentlemanly, he didn't help Trina get in because of the length and weight of her gown. She just glared at him as soon as he entered. Darren just closed his eyes in the car. Ever since they got ready for the wedding, they had no rest.

Darren quickly went out of the car when they reached the house that his Grandfather gave them. Trina followed him while lifting her gown. Their house was still very quiet because it was new. Darren hadn't even gotten dressed when he dropped his body on the bed. After a while, Trina knocked so Darren turned to the door.

"It's open," he said. That's why Trina entered with her gown still on. "What do you need?" he asked coldly because he was really tired and wanted to sleep.

"I can't unzip my gown. Can you help me?" she asked shyly.

Darren just looked at her and then stood up. "I'm not your maid to do that. Remove it yourself." But instead, he entered the bathroom. Trina looked annoyed at the rude young man.

"What I'm asking for is not even a big deal! You thick-face! You just have to lower the zipper. You are worthless!” she screamed. Annoyed, she kicked Darren's bed and left the room. Their rooms were next to each other and they didn't want to share the same room.

Trina didn't know how to remove her gown. She couldn't reach the zipper. There was no helper in the house or anyone for her to ask for help. As for Nick, he also left as soon as the two of them were delivered. Trina just lay down on her bed. It looked like she would sleep in a gown. How could she take a bath if she was still wearing her huge gown?

"That Dela Vegas is really a gentleman. Maid? I'm just asking for help!” she said, annoyed. She remained on her bed. Later, she turned to her door when she heard it open. Darren entered without a word. He just got out of the bathroom.

She stood up to face him. "What are you doing here? Don't you even know how to knock?" she asked the young man but he didn't answer her. He approached her instead. Trina looked at Darren curiously. He grabbed her by both shoulders and made her turn around. Even though Trina was confused, she followed.

Darren grabbed the zipper of Trina's gown and slowly lowered it. Trina just held her chest because her gown would fall if she didn't do that. Darren had already lowered the zipper but he still didn't let go of the zipper. He just swallowed when he saw the girl's white and smooth skin. He quickly turned around and left Trina's room, slamming the door shut.

"What's his problem?" Trina asked with a frown because he didn't even say anything. She took off her gown and went to the bathroom to take a shower, then she went to sleep because she was really tired.

She woke up early because no one could cook for her and her husband to eat. The house that was given to the two of them was quite big. They could have given them a smaller one because there were only two of them in the house.

It was a good thing that their fridge was also full of food because if it happened to be empty, she would have to go to the supermarket.

She also prepared Darren's coffee for later so that she would just put hot water in it. When she finished cooking, Darren also came down. Trina just looked down at Darren and then swallowed.

“Enjoying the view huh?—hey!” he exclaimed when Trina threw him with a ladle she was holding.

"You have a girl with you, Darren. You should wear shorts. You don't go out in boxers like this!" she exclaimed, annoyed, then averted her eyes from the young man.

"It's a very beautiful sight. You should be thankful you can see it yourself."

"Damn you!" Trina exclaimed which made Darren laugh. Trina sat down and served the food when she remembered Darren's coffee. She took the heater and filled the cup with hot water and gave it to Darren.

“Are you researching about me? Why did you prepare everything I wanted in the morning?” he asked while looking at all the food prepared by Trina as well as his favorite coffee.

"Your Mom texted me last night and told me that. Don't assume that you think I'm interested in knowing everything about you,” Trina replied before eating. Darren just shrugged his shoulders and ate too.

"By the way, do you know that the maids will come to the house later?"

"Yes, your Mom has already told me. I will also work in your company."

"For what?"

"I'm not a stay-at-home person, Darren. I still want to fulfill my dreams even though my marriage has already happened first." Darren slightly raised his eyebrows but didn't say anything more. They both ate because they were going to the company together.

"If you go to the company, you won't go with me. They don't know about the marriage that happened," Darren said.

"Don't worry. I’ll not broadcast that I married someone like you either," Trina replied making Darren's jaw tighten.
