Only if he knew!

Writer’s POV:-

The brother and sister sat together in the hospital cafeteria, having breakfast and talking about happy memories. Hunter tried to make Natasha laugh with jokes and stories, but she only managed to smile warmly. Hunter was okay with this because seeing her smile instead of cry made him feel better. He was happy as long as she responded to him, even with just a smile.

Hunter knew it was important to keep trying to make Natasha feel better. He wanted to help her get through her sadness. He understood it wouldn’t be easy, but her smiles gave him hope. He believed that with time, they would be able to overcome this together.

Only if he knew what the actual thing was scaring Natasha.

“You want anything else?” Hunter asked, wiping his mouth with the tissue.

Natasha lifted her lashes at him, then lowered them again after giving him a blank gaze. “No, I’m full!” Her flat tone was still low. Her eyes were now void of any emotions, but a line of pain could still be easily detected
