Not Me

“S-Stop, OMG!” I shouted as they continued to fight, no one wanted to stop them. They were both drunk and ready to kill each other. There were a few who wanted to help me to break them, but there was nothing they could do, luckily the bouncers came right away.

"F*ck you, what is your problem!" The man I kissed earlier screamed while pointing his finger at Jake.

"Don't point your finger at me, how dare you lay your fucking dirty hands on her?!" He is still very angry while saying those words, I don't know if I should laugh or what to his words.

"Is it true that he is your husband?" One of the bouncers asked me, and I immediately turned to them.

I shook my head, "No, I think he's just drunk. I don't have a husband, actually I came here alone."

I saw how his face turned pale, as if he couldn't believe what he heard. "N-no, what are you saying? It's me, your husband!” His voice is trembling.

He was about to touch me when I slapped his hand, "Please don't touch me, Mister." I couldn't help but make a disgusted sound, causing the bouncer to block between us.

"Sorry, Sir. But she said she doesn't know you, we don't tolerate trouble in this bar. Please get out, if you don't want us to call the police." The bouncer asked politely.

He looked at me, his gaze was intense as if he wanted to melt me.

"But I'm telling the truth, that woman is my wife---" He could not continue his words when someone shouted his name from the entrance.

"Jake?!" A woman's voice hurriedly called his name, her face very innocent. "What are you doing here, why are you starting a fight?" She asked and looked at us, "I'm so sorry because we came from a party and I just bought some medicine for his hangover and then he suddenly disappeared." She apologizes while bowing her head.

"Is that so, ma'am? He suddenly punched a customer. Are you his wife?" He asks for clarification.

For some unknown reason, I held my breath, looked at the woman, and waited for an answer.

She slowly moved her head and nodded, "I’m his fiance, I'm sorry for the trouble. If he has damaged something, we can talk it out and we will pay, I hope you did not call the police?"

The man who was with me just clicked his tongue, "Just make sure your husband doesn't do it again, he ruins my day." He said, who can refuse the innocent woman in front of us?

"Thank you." She bent down and helped Jake to walk outside the building.

I saw how his arms wrapped around the woman's waist, I laughed softly. How can he shout that I am his wife, if he sees the face of the woman he is with now, he quickly forgets me...?

I immediately shook my head and looked at the man I kissed earlier, I caressed his cheek and lips, "Should we go to the hospital?" I ask gently.

He shook his head and shook off my hand, "No, I should better get home." His flirtatious voice disappeared, she was looking at his wallpaper, a woman holding a baby.

Oh, he already has a family...

I let him leave me on the side as if nothing had happened, the people who watched earlier left and continued drinking.

"Are you okay, ma'am?" The bouncer asked me.

"Yes, thank you," I reply shortly.

They didn't talk to me again and like everyone else they went back to their things, I was left alone there... Damn, I shouldn't go here in the first place.

I feel like going back to my room and taking a shower, I wanted to remove the perfume left on me by the man I was with earlier. Whenever I go, I always meet men who are not good.

I laughed and looked at my reflection in the mirror and caressed the kiss mark he left, no matter how much I erased his smell, there was still a trace of guilt towards his wife and son...

I clutched my stomach as if my intestines were being squeezed. Not even a day has passed that I want to go back to another country, I don't want to stay here.

Even though my hair was still wet, I dropped my body on the bed, it was only at that time that I felt rested. Less than a day after coming back here, I meet the last man I want to see in this country.

I closed my eyes tightly, I remembered the innocent face of the woman again. It was the first time I saw her, a far cry from the woman I thought he would replace me with after divorce…

I lean over to hug the pillow on the side, I shouldn't waste my time thinking about him... It's been years, whatever he has now I'm out of it.

“Good morning!” Raziel greeted me enthusiastically as I exited the building, he was leaning against the car while wearing his shades.

"The sun is so bright, right?" I joked, "Good morning, though.”

"Hey, it's called fashion." He frowned and opened the door for me, "Are you ready for the meeting later, why do you seem so sleepy?”

I almost rolled my eyes, it's a good thing if the preparation for the meeting was the reason why I stayed up. But it’s a different thing…

"No, maybe I'm not just getting used to my new room." I lie.

"Oh, but you said you can't be picky about where you sleep..." He answered causing me to glare at him.

He just laughed at me and drove off; our flight was only a few minutes before we arrived at the meeting place. A restaurant where there is a VIP reservation prepared by our client.

As soon as we entered, the host greeted us enthusiastically, "Hello, ma'am and sir. Do you have a reservation?”

"Yes, under Ms. Lazaro,” Raziel answered briefly.

"Oh, then please come with me." He accompanied us to where the room was, "They are already inside, you can come in.”

"Okay, thank you." I smiled at the host before he left.

Raziel knocked three times before he opened the door. Just as the man said they were already there, as we looked at each other we were both shocked. She’s the woman last night, with my ex-husband.

"H-hello." She greeted us awkwardly, "Come in." She added and stood up.

"You don't have to stand, Ms. Lazaro.” Raziel stopped her and pulled me a chair, "sit here, Lorain."

I didn't move and just sat quietly, as Raziel did.

"H-Hmm, can we wait a little more? My partner just went outside for a while," she asks shyly.

"Sure, no worries," Raziel said and nodded his head.

A few minutes later, the door opens, "Babe, you're finally here. They are the ones I chose to produce the textiles for our project, come on sit here!” Her voice is very soft.

Every time I hear this woman's voice like an angel, my chest tightens...

I looked up at the man who just arrived, "Hello." We both greeted him.
