Don't leave me

"Mom?" Belle walked in with a sullen face. She had heard all the conversation between her mother and Bellamy. There was no need for her to act dumb.

"Don't... don't call me mom. Why Annabelle? Why did you do that?" Nora held Belle' shoulders and jolted her.

"Are you going to believe her and not me?" Belle asked with a sarcastic smile. She got her answer when Nora landed a hard slap on Belle' face.

Belle didn't say anything. She started laughing in self-mockery. So, all this while she was wrong. Her mother never loved her. It was just a front to hide her guilt. Belle felt a sharp pain in her heart and head, but she stood firmly and did not lose her footing.
