Why?

"I'll throw you out of the house, if you wake you sister-in-law up." Alaric threatened Gil and alas it worked. Gil immediately turned to an obedient boy, which of course he was not.

"What's the deal with you both?" When Alaric let go of his collar, Gil asked in a low whisper audible only to Alaric.

"We have to pluck him out of her mind. I am sure he is using her." Alaric carelessly pulled out a cigarette and lit it. He thrust his other hand in his pocket. He looked no less than an immortal.

"Regarding that, I get that that land is precious, but what does it have to do with him?" Gil rubbed his chin in confusion.

"You are still young to know the reason." Alaric waved his hand and dismissed Gil's question.
