Trial Marriage

In the middle of the night, a pair of predator's dark pitch eyes were boring holes in the soul of the stirring woman on the bed. Alaric took his time to examine Belle.

"Why is it so dark?" Belle murmured. Her voice was a bit raspy. She gathered all her strength to move her aching back from the bed.

"Annabelle Smith, welcome to the world of darkness." Alaric clicked the red button from the table, and the whole room lit up with bright light. Belle instantly became weary of his presence. His dark chuckle was scary enough to make one shudder.

"What do you mean?" Belle bumped her brows together. Shouldn't he ask about her health instead of showing his sly smirk? Belle thought in her mind.

Alaric did not answer her question and walked to where Belle was struggling. He put his hands on either side of Belle's pillow and inched closer to her face. His warm breath fanning across her neck sent tickles down her spine.
