Chapter Five

Champagne strode down the street, her hands buried deep in her jacket pockets.

She knew that she would be late for work, but she couldn't leave Lilly alone, so she dropped her at Sam's place.

They were only a few people walking down the street and it was comforting enough, allowing her to get lost in her thoughts.

Her eyes scanned the place, and she lowered her eyes down, but then she snapped her head up in shock.

Her eyes moved to the other side of the street, and she saw that black car again. Champagne's body swayed for a minute and terror rushed down her spine.

She didn't get its plane number or something but Champagne knew it was the same car, she couldn't pinpoint how, but she was sure.

Her heart thudded and sweat beaded her forehead. Champagne turned on her heel and galloped down the streets hoping to get away from sight of whoever it was.
