FAZER LOGINI glanced at the clock as I walked into the office—8:30 AM. As I opened the door his poker face welcomed me.
"It's almost 8:30 in the morning, and where the hell have you been?" my boss barked. Seriously, did he have to start every conversation like this? And always start about the time. I slammed the food I'd bought from the restaurant onto his table, not even bothering to look at him. "Are you deaf now? And what kind of food is this?" he snapped, glaring at the plastic container as if it had personally offended him. "Why? Did you actually specify what I was supposed to buy?" I shot back, finally meeting his gaze before turning and heading to the restroom. Inside, I retouched my makeup and then suddenly burped. Ughh, I'm so full! At least I probably won't fall asleep during the meeting later, thanks to all those energy drinks. I laughed, remembering his face earlier. You deserved it, Kaizer, I will push you to your limit. I lingered in the restroom, enjoying the peace and quiet. When I finally emerged, he was there, standing beside his table with his arms crossed, looking as though I’d personally offended him. "Does your watch even work? If not, toss it. Damn it, it’s already 9:05, and the meeting was supposed to start at 9 o’clock. Do you ever bother to check the time?" he snapped, his face practically purple with anger. "Then why are you still here?" I retorted, unable to stop myself. Seriously, he’s the CEO—why is he acting like this is all my fault? My patience with him was making me hit his skull. "You're my secretary. What kind of brain do you have? Of course, I need you there to take notes on the important stuff we discuss in meetings," he said, rolling his eyes as if I were the dumbest person on the planet. Ack, I forgot I was his secretary. Noob Samantha. "Sorry," I mumbled. He just 'tsked' and said, "Follow," before striding out of the office. I hurriedly grabbed my notebooks and pen from my table and followed him into the elevator. Ugh, he’s always in such a rush. Well, duh, Samantha? He's late because you were off daydreaming in the bathroom. Idiot. -- The whole meeting actually went pretty smoothly, but me? Not so much. I didn’t even write down a single important thing because Mr. Grumpy McGrumperson decided to give me another brilliant task. No! I think it's his payback for making him late. Ugh! He's determined to make my days as miserable as his personality. He made me buy snacks—alone—and then serve them—alone—to his business partners. I swear, I should have struggled to find a different job. Being hired easily only to end up with a boss like him? Seriously, it was a terrible idea. "Stop spacing out. It's getting late…we need to go home early," he said, jolting me out of my thoughts. Of course, it had to be my boss. I glanced at my watch—3:30 in the afternoon. And what did he say? 'Getting late?' Seriously? But when I was here all night doing the work he told me to do, he never once said, "It's getting late, you can go home now." Instead, he just let me suffer with that mountain of documents he wanted me to check. Ugh, if this is what it's like to have him as my boss, I'm seriously going to run out of patience real fast. "What are you still waiting for?!" he snapped, his voice dripping with irritation. Is he going to grip me again? tsk. I glared back at him, not even thinking that he was my boss. I'd only been working for him for two days, but it already felt like a lifetime of torture. My beloved grandma, save me from this devil soul. "You go ahead. I have feet. I can walk alone," I retorted. I heard him mutter, "Tsk, suit yourself," before stomping off toward the office. Ugh, he's so infuriating! -- Here I am, standing in front of the company where Mr. Grumpy McGrumperson lords it over. Tsk, he already left, so now I'm stuck taking the bus. /Beep/Beep/ "Holy crap!" I clutched my chest as someone honked loudly next to me. It was a car—a freakin' sports car. I glanced at the street and where I was standing. I wasn't blocking the road or anything. What's this person's problem? "Get in." Oh, it was Kaizer 2.0., Just in time kleo! Since I didn't want to suffer in these ridiculously high heels and wait who-knows-how-long for the bus, I trudged over to Kleo's sports car and slid into the passenger seat. "Hi?" I greeted him with my most dazzling smile, but he just stared straight ahead, emotionless. Yep, definitely Kaizer 2.0—the CSSL (Chuena's Sibling Signature Look). He started driving, and I tried to make conversation to break the silence, but it was like talking to a brick wall. Never mind, Kleo, thanks for the ride, then. Since I was getting tired of chattering away and getting zero response, I just shut my mouth and stared out the window, replaying the last two unbelievable days in my head. Ugh. We eventually arrived at their mansion. After he parked, he hopped out first, so I followed him. We walked into the house side-by-side, and as soon as we stepped inside, grandma and Kaizer both turned to look at us. "Oh good, you're both here. Come on, let's eat," grandma said, smiling warmly. That's when I noticed a little kid sitting on her lap. Who is he? Grandma picked him up and headed toward the dining room. The kid didn't even spare us a glance—stuck up much? He is cute, and his eyes are so slanted. "Tsk." I whipped my head around to glare at the guy who apparently only knows how to say "Tsk." Kaizer was glowering at me and Kleo. What's his problem? Should I poke his eyes out or something? He's staring at us like we did something wrong. "Tch, you go first. I don't want to talk to him about this sh*t,I'm too tired" Kleo muttered. I frowned at what he said. "What do you mean?" I asked, completely confused. "Huh, nothing. Just go," he said, waving me off. I just shrugged and headed into my room. I swear, these siblings are incredibly hard to understand. So, I went up to my room to take a shower so I wouldn't look like a wilted vegetable when we all ate together in the dining room later. That kid was really cute, though. I wonder who he is? Is he Kaizer’s brother? If he is, he's definitely the cutest of the three of them. Or… what if he’s Kaizer’s son? And that why he's been so grumpy lately—because he hasn't seen his kid in a while? Ugh, overthinking, samantha? But what if he is his son? They don't look that much alike, though… Ugh, why do I even care about his personal life? It's none of my business."What the FUCK!" I woke up to Kaizer's voice, his tone sharp and accusatory. We'd slept together in one bed, and I'd given him my virginity."Shit!" I opened my eyes, seeing his face contorted in a mixture of shock and disgust. It was like the old Kaizer was back, the cold, unfeeling one."W-Why?" I stammered, confused by his reaction. I slowly sat up, clutching the blanket tightly around my body, feeling exposed and vulnerable."What did you do to me?"My mouth dropped open at his question. "What did I do to you?" I repeated, incredulous."You're the one who did this, Kaizer," I said, my voice rising with each word. "I tried to stop you, but you kept insisting that you were aware, that you were ready to take responsibility for whatever happened." I was so angry at him right now."Fucked, do you know that im drunked samantha?" He yelled back, his eyes blazing with anger."Fuck that 'drunkenness' of yours! You confessed your feelings to me, and now you're saying you were just drunk? Fu
"Kaizer," I said. He glanced at me, then turned to Paulo."You really have a thick face, don't you?" Kaizer said to Paulo, smirking. It was like he was hinting at something I didn't know.Paulo smirked and straightened his posture. "As long as you aren't married, I think I have a chance," he said, grinning.Ack, I wanted to shout that he would never have a chance with me, but we were in a church with a lot of people around."You won't have that chance," Kaizer answered confidently."Enough. We're in a church. Find another place to display your egos." I yanked my wrist from Kaizer's grip and left them both.I heard Paulo call my name, but I didn't look back. They were just pests.I went back to my condo instead of going to the reception. I'd lost my mood, and I didn't have anyone to be with anyway.I just wished Ryuji and I could go back to normal.DingdongdingI sighed and stood up from the couch. Samantha POVI didn't realize how much time had passed. It was already 6:00 in the evening. I was at Grandma's house because she said she needed to tell me something in person. If it weren't for her, I would have stayed at my condo."Why is he taking so long?" Grandma hissed, her eyes fixed on the main door. Was she waiting for the siblings? No, she was clearly referring to only one person.Ken wasn't here because his parents had taken him to the States. He was going to transfer schools there, which meant I was completely on my own. I wouldn't have Ken around to goof off with. And Kleo was scheduled to go back to the States the next day to manage the other company his father had given him.So I really had no one. And Ryuji was being cold to me, too. I hate everyone."Grandma, can I go to my room first? I need to charge my phone." As soon as she nodded, I went to my room and collapsed on the bed. I just wanna sleep.I felt exhausted waiting for whoever "he" was.The next morning, I sho
Samantha POV "Is she already home?" I froze as I heard Kaizer's voice in the garage. Who was he talking to? Who did he mean by "she"? I ducked behind a large bush near the fountain, silently watching him. He was dressed casually. So he didn't have any business today. I checked my watch. It was already midnight. Ack, this was Ryuji's fault. He'd gotten me drunk just to pry out my feelings for this infuriating man who was now standing in front of his car. "Fuck," he cursed, then hurried to his car and drove off. I stepped out from behind the bush, watching his car until it disappeared through the main gate. What did he mean by "she?" Was he referring to me? Ugh, I rolled my eyes and slapped my face to snap myself out of it. I was daydreaming again. I took a deep breath and started walking towards the main door. But as I reached for the handle, my phone rang. Klarrise's name flashed on the screen. Oh my god, I'd forgotten she was here in Manila. I'd been so preoccupied with my fee
Third Person POV"He's already met her," my assistant said, suddenly appearing beside me.I sighed and glanced at my tablet. "Let him do whatever he wants," I said, trying to sound indifferent. But the truth was, a small part of me was curious, maybe even a little jealous. We are separated now. What was the point in caring?"When do you want to approach her?" she added, causing my thoughts to drift back to Samantha. It had been a year since I'd last seen her. “I don’t know.” I don’t know her reactions. I’m scared."It's just a suggestion," she said, sensing my hesitation. "You should really start to reach out to her. Start to make up for everything you did for her."Her words struck a chord.I promised myself that when the time came, I would do everything in my power to earn her forgiveness.Mrs. Katarina Chuena POV"She's really pretty, Mom," I couldn't help but gush after meeting Samantha earlier. She seemed like such a sweet, genuine girl. "Yeah, definitely better than Akisha," Mom
Ryuji escorted me back to the mansion and after that he left, saying he had important things to do. I waved goodbye to him until his car was out of my sight.I took a deep breath before entering the Chuena family's gates."Good Evening, Mrs. Chuena," the guard greeted me. I smiled and returned the greeting to him.Walking slowly to the main door, while I wondered where kazier had gone and why he hadn't called me again after that yesterday. As I entered the door, the sweet ambiance of the house hit me.I went straight to my room and changed clothes, cause I feel like it suffocates me while wearing this sexy dress. After changing, I went to bed, feeling like my body had been tortured.I need to sleep to rest my inner body.In the morning, I got up early and took a bath.
