"Place these in the organizer box, but first, ensure all the documents are signed," he drawled, as if it were inconsequential. I stared at the mountain of papers engulfing my desk, feeling suffocated.

I swear, this is the most cruel decision I made in my whole life. And its already 7:30 p.m.! Was he serious? Did he assume I had no personal life? He expected me to sift through this mountain of paperwork at this hour? Did he also assume that I'm a robot?

"Could this wait until tomorrow? It's already 7:30 in the evening, sir," I asked, struggling to keep the frustration from my tone. Please, a little consideration?

"You're my secretary, correct? Do your job." Without a backward glance, he strolled out, leaving me stranded in his ridiculously oversized office.

I ran my hands down my face, trying to figure out how to tackle this insane mess and somehow shoehorn it into that ridiculous organizer box.

You heartless, soulless jerk! I hope you encounter every red light on your way home, and then, upon arrival, realize you've left your room keys at the office. I'll pray for it, I swear!

Hours trickled by, and I was finally done checking the papers and organizing them into the box. My eyes ached terribly. I glanced at my wristwatch—almost 3:00 in the morning, unbelievable!

I tried to stretch my aching muscles and discarded the empty coffee cups that had kept me going all night. Should I head home? Yes, I deserved some sleep, even if just for an hour.

Dragging myself up, I stumbled out of Grump McGrumperson's office. As I stepped into the hallway,Another office down the hall had its lights on. How did I miss that yesterday? Or was I too preoccupied searching for him?

I crept closer, peering through the window, but the place was empty. Weird. I didn't mind it and trudged to the elevator. All I wanted was to go home and sleep, even if just for a few minutes or an hour. Oh God, please give me strength.

"Oh, why are you only getting home now? And you look miserable, Samantha!" grandma A exclaimed, looking me up and down with a mix of confusion and concern. Ugh, should I confess that her beloved grandchild was the reason I looked like death warmed over?

"I'm just really enjoying my work, grandma, so I didn't notice the time passing so quickly," I lied through my teeth.

"Really? HAH! That's surprising," she asked, giving me a look that screamed disbelief, so I just smiled at her.

"And Kaizer didn't mention your late hours or overtime?" I shook my head. "Oh, he hasn't come home yet either. I guess he slept at his office. You didn't see him in his office?" Grandma added, her brow furrowed with confusion. Or I don't know, I just can't read her expression.

Besides the office where I was slaving away all night, I didn't see him in the other room. Unless he was sleeping inside of that room? Ugh, seriously? If he was there the whole time and didn't even bother to check on me? Haaa, would I even be surprised? He'd probably strangle me if he were annoyed enough.

"What's with that face?" My thoughts were interrupted by grandma, snapping me back to reality. I plastered on a smile and told her I was just going to my room for a quick nap, and she let me go without any more questions.

Thank you so much, grandma. And finally, I can sleep in peace.

I wanted to scream so badly because it felt like no one would let me sleep. My face probably looked like I'd just eaten something disgustingly sour as I trudged toward the door.

Someone was pounding on my door. I had barely collapsed onto my bed when someone started banging like they were trying to break it down.

"Hold on!" I yelled, yanking the door open, and there he was—Kaizer 2.0, aka Kleo.

"Kleo," I said flatly, shoving his phone in my face. Ugh!

"Read." He said, feels like I'm swimming with the most cold water in the world.

I took a glance at his phone and It was a text from Kaizer because, obviously, there was a contact name.

'Tell her I need her here right now. If she's not here by 7:00 a.m., she's fired.'

AHHHHHH!!! Can I just burst into tears now? Really, is he still human?! Of course, he isn't.

"Tch, don't work if you can't be on time. You're disturbing everyone else,"he said, then turned and went back to his room. Grumpy much?

Ugh! I wanted to squish him like a bug! Seriously, can't I even get one freakin' hour of sleep?

"Tsk, you're five minutes late, Ms. Samuel," he commented, not even looking up from his papers.

Wow, it's just five freakin' minutes! Does he even realize that I was up all night because of the work he dumped on me? Ugh, I wanted to punch him just to knock some sense into that thick skull of his.

"Sorry, sir," I said, forcing myself to sound polite as I went to my desk. I glanced at his table and saw it was completely empty— eh, what am I even doing here, and why did I have to come back so early?

And then I remembered his text to Kleo 2.0: 'Tell her I need her here right now. If she's not here by 7:00 a.m., she's fired.' Seriously?

"We have a meeting at 9:00 a.m., so brace yourself. You look like a dead vegetable," he added, still not bothering to make eye contact.

Wow? Did he know that he's the one who made me look like this?

I silently rolled my eyes, fantasizing about stabbing him repeatedly until he was definitely, irreversibly dead.

I snuck a peek at my watch—7:16 a.m. "Could I possibly sleep for a little while, sir?" I asked, figuring that since the meeting wouldn't start until 9, I might have time for a quick nap.

"No. Go buy food at the restaurant. I haven't eaten breakfast yet. Here's the money!" He plopped some bills on my desk and then just walked off.

I almost slap my own face for what he said.Seriously, what is wrong with this guy? Does he not have anyone else he can boss around? Can't he cook his own freakin' breakfast?

Ack!Come on samantha, Patience! and just goes with the flow.

"What's wrong with that poker face, Miss Samantha?!" Ryuji asked when he entered the office that he also owned.I just shrugged my shoulders and faced him. Since he said that he knows Kaizer well, "Ryuji, do you know where Kaizer went last night?"He stopped and acted shocked, moving like an idiot doing slow-motion walking towards in front of my table."You're crazy, Mr. Ryuji Ledezma!" I commented. He laughed when he realized what he did and now sat in a chair."Actually, Ms... wait, what's your last name again? I didn't ask for it the whole time we've been together for a week." I rolled my eyes at how he simply made me laugh."It's Samantha Samina Samuel," I said and leaned my hand on him for a handshake."Wow, SSS?!" I just withdrew my hand and pretended to hit him, which made him laugh. "Kidding aside, Ms. Samuel, by the way, what a long, nice name," he complimented."Thank you, Mr. Ledezma, and please don't change the topic. So, where did he go last night?!" I'm eager to know abo

  • CHASING HER: THE BILLIONAIRE ATTITUDE   CHAPTER NINE

It was already at 9 p.m., when I got to Grandma's house. I was walking in the hallway when I almost jumped when someone suddenly spoke behind me."Enjoying your work with him, huh?" Is he teasing me? I was about to pass him when he suddenly grabbed my right arm and tightened his grip."O-Ouch, Kaizer! It hurts!" I yelled at him and tried to remove his fingers, which were gripping my arm very tightly."KAIZER, WHAT THE HECK!!" I was already tearful from the pain. I looked at his expressionless face, and it seemed like he was eager to crush my bone."KAIZER!!!!!!!" I slapped him hard, and he finally let go of my hands. I immediately looked at it, and it was very red and looked swollen, "What's your problem? Look at what you did to my arm!" I shouted at him and showed him the marks of his grip on my arm.But knowing him, he didn't care, he even smirked like a devil, as if he didn't do anything to me, "Don't flirt with Ryuji, or you'll get more than that," and he turned his back on me.Wh

  • CHASING HER: THE BILLIONAIRE ATTITUDE   CHAPTER EIGHT

I arrived at the 45th floor early, and I knew Kaizer wasn't here because his office lights were off and the door was locked."Where did he go?" I went directly to the office, and there was a guy sitting on the couch wearing a formal suit, and he was staring at me like a damn pervert."Are you already judging me in your mind?!" He spoke."Who are you, and what are you doing here?!" I asked and went straight to my desk chair and sat down, since he looks good I won't mind him and he can't easily enter here if the guard and kaizer didn't know him."Nothing, just roaming around." Nice, who is he? 'Nothing?'I didn't even bother to look at him and ask who he was but instead analyzing some papers at my table. "You two have some similarities.""Who?" I asked, is he comparing me to someone?"Nothing, btw, he wasn't here for 1 week, so let's just be together for now, so don't be grumpy."I laughed at what he said."I'm not grumpy, it's just that I don't know you,I asked your name, but you answe

I woke up because of the loud door slammed. Ack, can't he just move slowly? how inconsiderate he is, after I helped him!"YOWWW MEN!!!" Ugh, the energy, who the hell is he? I assured that he's not kaizer based on his voice, like it has a lot of energy in his life, unlike kaizer the dead ball walking."OWW SHESHHHH AKISHA?! IS THAT YOU!" Say what? akisha? is she here now? really? I was about to get up when I heards footsteps beside me, heck? should I panic? what if he does something to me?"OWW MEN! HOW?!" Ackk! I just pretended to be sleeping to get some info, since he said 'Akisha,' so maybe he knows her, yeah!."No, wait for me outside! • CHASING HER: THE BILLIONAIRE ATTITUDE   CHAPTER SIX

"Where are you going, Samantha?" I stopped walking when I saw grandma coming out from the kitchen area. Wow, she's awake at this hour? It's 4:30 in the morning and the first mass will start at 5:00, so I got up early."I'm going to church, grandma." I answered."Good, Would you like our butler to accompany you?" I shook my head."Are you sure? You might get lost," she said with concern."Yes, I think." I raised my cellphone, which puzzled her, "I'll use GPS." She smiled playfully, like she thought something naughty."Okay,so take care of yourself, okay?" I smiled and nodded.--After mass, I glanced at my wristwatch. It was 7:30 in the morning. Since it was my day off, I'd go home to get some sleep so I could gather strength to deal with the ill-tempered person tomorrow. I need to ask God for strength and maybe some insight into Kaizer's past and why I was sent here.As I was walking towards my room, the little boy came out of his room. He was shocked when he saw me but quickly compos

  • CHASING HER: THE BILLIONAIRE ATTITUDE   CHAPTER FIVE

I glanced at the clock as I walked into the office—8:30 AM. As I opened his poker face welcomed me. "It's almost 8:30 in the morning, and where the hell have you been?" my boss barked. Seriously, did he have to start every conversation like this? And always about the time. I slammed the food I'd bought from the restaurant onto his table, not even bothering to look at him. "Are you deaf now? And what kind of food is this?" he snapped, glaring at the plastic container as if it had personally offended him. "Why? Did you actually specify what I was supposed to buy?" I shot back, finally meeting his gaze before turning and heading to the restroom. Inside, I retouched my makeup and then suddenly burped. Ughh, I'm so full! At least I probably won't fall asleep during the meeting later, thanks to all those energy drinks. I laughed, remembering his face earlier. You deserved it, Kaizer, I will push you to your limit. I lingered in the restroom, enjoying the peace and quiet. When
